Devil's vow novel Chapter 18

Strom Palace

Russia

Alaina's POV

Sometimes even after the flames still and the fire is extinguished, the ambers don't die down. The attraction I felt towards Ajax was morphing into something I had no name of.

Three months have passed since he has revealed himself to me and now all I do is steal glances at him when he wasn't looking.

He had countless number of fans. With a face and character like that which girl would not like him. What was there not to like.

He was never polite but neither he was rude. He hated people approaching him so his deadly tone warned them off.

I couldn't care less about the way he looked because he would always be Ajax in whatever way he is. And Ajax was the word whose essence I desired with all my heart.

But when talking to me it got filled with warmth like a desert dipped in Maple syrup and dribbling with honey.

I hated the effect he had on me. I was sure that once he came out of his disguise girls would throw themselves at him, the superficial cover once removed would attracting both males and females.

But would they able to see how truly beautiful he was from his heart. I was no naive girl, the man I felt for was a Mafia Lord and not even a Commander....he was the King.

But being able to preserve one's soul despite such cruel circumstances....how can I say that I felt nothing for such courageous soul.

I was standing by my window, the stars twinkling like sapphires in the evening sky, the tangerine burnt of sun almost mixing with the crimson hues.

I can seriously use a walk right now, it will definitely clear my mind of all the undecipherable thoughts, they were sinning and also something which was uncontrollable.

I have to talk to Ajax, a rude awakening was required for me and once his actions show that I am nothing for him....maybe then I would be able to move ahead.

I picked up my cellphone dialling his number.

"Ajax?"

"Yes Alaina?"

"I was thinking if you want to go for a walk with me." A series of bangs ricocheting from the background made me wince.

"A walk.......sounds good, I will be there at Eve park." he pondered over it and I was just expecting him to say no but there was a small part of me which relished in the fact that he didn't denied me.

"Uh...Ok fine."

...................................

I was sitting on a swing, my hands holding it's chains for support were numb from the chilling, frosty air swirling in gusts.

Small snowflakes were falling from the oblivion, their pure white colour glowed as they seem to dance around me, a smile lit my face on seeing them.
