Flash Marriage: Slow Down Mister novel Chapter 150

When Clara was restless, Horace continued to publish the information of Clara Fund in a calm tone and held Clara's hand firmly. It also made her simmer down.

"Clara Fund has the highest return rate, and it is also the most stable and profitable fund of Holrace Corporation. Since it is named after my wife, I hope it can help more people improve their economy and further improve their life quality."

Horace said a lot about the Holrace Corporation, but Clara totally zoned out. She was dizzy under the flash.

Under the stage, Sarah said complacently, "Clara's husband is Mr. Kirkland, no way will Diane embarrass Clara again!"

"Let alone Diane, we all need to befriend Clara." said Luis.

Darren said icily, "Shut up. You are not allowed to mention Horace Kirkland in the office. Do you hear me?"

Sarah and others nodded.

Why was editor-in-chief pissed off?

Sarah sticked out her tongue.

Horace and Clara walked up to the champagne tower and poured in the champagne, which bode well for good sales.

Horace ended his speech and left the stage to the fund manager who would make further introduction. Horace and Clara walked off the stage.

They sat down in the center of the first row. Horace touched Clara's hand, "Your hands are cold."

"Maybe I'm too nervous." Clara forced a smile.

Horace glanced at her and whispered, "Did I scare you?"

Clara shook her head.

It was more like a surprise rather than being scared.

Though she wasn't used to people's attention, she was still happy to be approved by her husband.

The conference was soon over. Sarah and other colleagues left without Clara.

Darren put on a sullen look on the way back, which made others terrified.

Sarah was the brave one. She said, "Clara truly cut a figure today. She made GLAM proud! We should throw her a party someday. Maybe we should also invite Mr. Kirkland."

"Stop being paranoid, Sarah. It is Clara's husband. The fox preys farthest from his hole."

"You know nothing," Sarah said, "I still remember the first time when Clara and I went to interview Mr. Kirkland, he acted weird. He kept asking her whether she was married or not. Now I knew he was flirting with her. My God! I witnessed all of it!"

"So, when you interviewed him, they were already married?" Asked Luis.

Sarah agreed, "I think so. Clara started to wear a wedding ring from that day. It turned out that she got married with Mr. Kirkland. Clara didn't treat us as friend and kept holding out on us. We even suspected that her husband was a janitor. Alas, there is no way a janitor can be so handsome and talented. He was a CEO!"

Darren silenced the car with a cough.

Sarah felt that Darren was not as excited and happy as they were. He was even a little grumpy. She didn't know why, but she finally shut up and dared not to speak again.

Clara finally came to senses after walking out of the conference press.

Clara wanted to go back to the office. Horace declined, for he wanted to take her to a good place.

She thought, well, ok, because her colleagues wouldn't let her go when she went back. They would certainly gossip about it. She hadn't figure out how to explain it to them.

Clara and Horace got on the car.

After Clara sat down, she finally got it together from puzzlement and came to her senses.

Horace had been watching her. Seeing she was better, he asked, "Are you used to it?"

Clara forced a smile.

Though they had been married for a while, she couldn't get used to her identity as Mrs. Kirkland.

Horace knew what she was thinking. He slightly frowned his eyebrows, "Will you blame me? I publicized our relationship without asking for your permission."

"No," Clara shook her head, "I just think it's too high-profile. I thought you didn't like it."

"Well, I didn't like it before."

"Then why did you call me Mrs. Kirkland in front of everyone? Aren't you afraid that it might bring negative impact?"

"But I want everyone knows that," Horace stared at Clara and stressed every word, "you, Clara Selman, is my wife."

Her heart skipped a beat.

Horace stared at her luscious lips and blushed cheeks. He couldn't help kissing her.

Clara had been so tense since the press conference. Now she was finally melted by the kiss.

Clara thought she didn't like Horace but deeply fell in love with him. She was already mesmerized by his warmth and affection. She didn't want to leave him, and wanted to be with him for the rest of her life.

She collapsed in his arms and whispered, "Thank you, Horace."

Horace grinned.

It seemed that all his preparation were worth it.

He didn't only want to surprise her, but also want to publicize their relationship with a high-profile announcement.

He never wanted to cover their marriage, but he never bothered to make it public.

But Darren and Yolanda's existence made him want to make it high-profile.

He wanted to tell everyone that he and Clara were husband and wife. They were officially married.

Horace kept holding her hands on the way.

Clara was touched. But she frowned when she looked outside the window. "Where are we heading? Aren't we going home?"

"I have a present for you." Horace smiled.

A present?

Clara didn't know what gift he would give her after such a big surprise.

She tried to pump more information, but Horace didn't say anything.

After a while, the car stopped.

Clara looked through the window. Her face turned pale when she saw what was outside.
