Flash Marriage: Slow Down Mister novel Chapter 378

After leaving prison, Horace returned to the company, only to find Russell waiting for him in his office.

"Grandpa, what are you doing here?" Horace asked hurriedly.

But Russell wasn't nice to him. "You're asking me? What's going on with Sean? He's your brother no matter what. How could you turn him in and put him in jail?"

Russell had just learned that Horace had been the one to report Sean's bribery, and although he knew the brothers had issues, he didn't expect it to come to this.

This time, Sean was going to jail instead of anywhere else. Moreover, it was revealed that the product was fake. Even if he were to be released in the future, his career would be ruined.

The fact that Horace was usually more affectionate with his grandson doesn't mean he's not interested in Sean, or else he wouldn't have been in charge of Kirkland Group for so many years.

Brother? Horace couldn't help but sneer. If Sean was even remotely concerned about his brother, how did they end up in this mess?

"Grandpa, didn't I tell you about Clara was kidnapped by Sean last time?" Horace's eyes were full of pain, and the incident was a permanent scar on his heart.

It turned out that because of this incident, Russell's anger subsided a little, "I know it's Sean's fault, but it's been so many years. It's useless to pursue it now. You can't just..."

"Grandpa, Clara wasn't raped," Horace whispered, interrupting Russell.

Russell was stunned for a moment, and then he was even more confused. "It's a good thing that that girl didn't have to go through that. Why would you..."

As he spoke, Russell sensed something was wrong, the baby!

If Clara had not been raped, the child in her would have been Horace's. But why did Horace misunderstand her?

Filled with questions, Russell looked at Horace sternly and asked, "What on earth is going on? If Clara wasn't… how could you have such a misunderstanding?"

Suppressing the bitterness, Horace told Russell how Laura and Sean worked together to kidnap Clara, and how he bribed a doctor to frame her for defilement when his plan didn't work.

"How could this happen!" Russell angrily propped his walking stick on the ground. Sean, the unfilial son, had conspired with Laura to do such a thing. It really pissed him off!

Angry, Russell thinks about the baby. "What about Clara's baby? Did she have it?" He asked.

Russell only knows that Clara left the country after her divorce from Horace because he didn't think she was pregnant with Horace's child and didn't ask too many questions about it.

Hearing Russell's question, Horace lowered his head for a long time, his face showing an unconcealed sadness.

If the baby had been born, maybe he and Clara wouldn't be like this now.

However, Horace didn't know that Clara was almost forced to have an abortion.

It was Laura who ordered Isaac to arrange the abortion, and she kept it a secret from everyone, and Sean didn't know, so Horace thought Clara hated him, it was because the child was lost on his own account.

What he doesn't know is that Clara's greatest hatred for him is that she thinks he is going to kill the child.

"What the hell is going on?" Russell had a bad feeling about Horace, but he didn't want to go down that road. He could only hope that Horace would say no.

Sorting out his thoughts, Horace struggled to open his mouth, "I tried several times to persuade Clara to abort the baby, but she was never willing to do so. After several attempts, the baby was not saved, and then... it was aborted."

Hearing the expected answer, Russell faltered for a moment, and Horace quickly helped him down on the couch.

"That bastard!" Russell lambasted Sean after realizing that Laura and Sean had indirectly killed his great-grandson, whom he had longed for so many years.

"Grandpa, don't be so sad," said Horace, his eyes welling up as he recounted the incident, but he managed to hold back his grief and comforted Russell.

"I was wrong about you." Russell looked at Horace guiltily. "You had a good reason to send that animal to jail for what he did."

Looking into Russell's eyes, Horace looked serious. "Grandpa, I admit that I wanted to avenge Clara and my child by reporting Sean's bribe, but I didn't frame him for nothing."

At this point, Horace turned around and took a file from his desk drawer behind him. He handed it over to Russell.

"Grandpa, this is all the illegal stuff Sean's done over the years, and you can see that I didn't frame him."

Taking the file from Horace, Russell looked through it.

After reading it, Russell felt so sad that he didn't even have the strength to be angry. Forced demolition, selling fake drugs, use of low-quality food additives that are harmful to the human body... turned out Sean's done a lot of terrible things behind his back over the years.

"Well, he got what he deserved," Russell said sadly. "Let him learn his lesson in prison.".

As the saying goes, it was the parents' fault, the parents of the two brothers died young, Sean did such a thing, and he was not strict to discipline him enough.

With that in mind, Russell looked at Horace. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have lost my temper at you without asking. It's not your fault. It's Grandpa's fault."

"Grandpa, please don't say that," Horace said hurriedly. "How can you be blamed for this? It's the two of us who should be blamed. We're adults and yet we're making you sad."

Glancing at Horace with relief, Russell pulled away the sadness in his eyes. What's the point of being sad when it's already happened? At his age, what's not to like?

"Anyway, what are you going to do now?" Russell asks. "If you knew you were wrong about Clara, why didn't you get her back?"
