"Era, come here." Frowning, Brooks, who kept silent, stood up and dragged Era away.

"Hey, Brooks." Anna hurried after him.

"Anna, wait for me here. We'll be back soon." Brooks said in a gentle tone, but his eyes allowed no refusal. Anna pouted and stopped walking. She gave an angry stare at Era and sat back at the table.

"Miss, why don't we have a talk?" The man sat down next to Anna in a lascivious way.

"Get out!" Anna's abrupt shouting attracted the attention of several guests sitting next to her.

"I'll remember it." The man lost his face. He left after saying those words to Anna.

In the dark corridor, Brooks stopped and looked at Era with mixed feelings. "I have something to tell you." He whispered in her ear, "I'm sorry!"

Era was shocked and suspected that she had a hearing problem! She thought that at least he would bring out facts and reasons again.

"I'm sorry." He spoke again in a low and hoarse voice, "if I make you sad, and make you so... I apologize for you!" Suddenly, Era stepped back with a sweet smile on her face. She looked like a well behaved girl.

From his eyes, she could see his deep concern. It was not fake, but it could no longer make her moved. What she needed was not guilt. He can't afford what she wants.
