“Mandy will definitely be screwed this time around. How could she possibly pacify York Enterprise with her meagre skills? I’ve inquired about it before. The new CEO of York Enterprise is quite mysterious and keeps a low profile. No one’s ever seen him.”

Quinn remarked coldly. After the family meeting ended, everyone dispersed. She and Zack had left together.

“Normally, Mandy wouldn't be able to. The problem is, she was able to solve the investment problems before. I fear something unexpected might happen.” Zack couldn’t help but worry. “If we let her manage the company finances, we’ll suffer terribly in the future.”

“What’s there to worry about? Unless she sleeps with the CEO of York Enterprise, it’ll never happen. Look at her! Her husband’s such a worthless piece of trash.” Quinn said viciously. “Why would that rich man be willing to do such a thing? Even touching her would be unfortunate!”

She was on the same side as Zack. If Mandy was in power, she would suffer as well.

“I hope so.” Zack heaved a sigh. Malice was written all over his face. If worse came to worst, he might really need to make some preparations.

Meanwhile, in Mandy’s Porsche.

Mandy was still in a daze. Harvey had sent her a text message asking her to agree and solve the problem, even prompting her to make a request. Although she seemed quite strong and persistent the entire time, she was overcome with dizziness the moment she left the meeting.

After the car started, Mandy asked worriedly, “Harvey, you said that the problem will be resolved once you give Yvonne a call? Is that true?”

“What? Were you the one who persuaded Mandy to agree to that? You unlucky b*stard! Let me tell you. If Mandy fails, we’ll have to endure the debt of four hundred fifty million dollars! Do you have any idea how much that is? Even if you cut your body open and sell every piece, we won’t be able to earn so much!” Initially when Lilian saw how confident Mandy had been, she assumed Mandy had a plan. It never occurred to Lilian that Mandy’s decision was prompted by Harvey. Realizing this, Lilian’s legs grew shaky and her entire strength sapped out of her body.

If they ended up owing a debt of four hundred fifty million dollars, not only would Lilian be forced to give up her wealthy and comfortable life, their situation could escalate into something much worse.

“Don’t worry.” Harvey consoled Mandy. “Previously, I exchanged ‘The Rocky Mountains, Lander’s Peak’ painting with York Enterprise. I heard the CEO was quite satisfied with it. Since the company owes us a favor, they’ll certainly respect us and give us some credit.”

Only then did Mandy breathe a soft sigh of relief. She hesitated for a short while and said, “Why don’t we give Miss Xavier ‘Forever Mine’? We can ask her to speak in our favor!”

“No! That belongs to our family. How could we simply give it to others?” Lilian was initially sitting feebly in the backseat. Now, she had suddenly straightened up.

She had seen Mandy’s diamond ring. It was more than ten karats. She had planned to find time to put it on and show it off outside. How could she let Mandy give it to someone else?

Harvey glanced at Lilian, but said nothing. He consoled Mandy, saying, “Just make an appointment with Yvonne and meet up with her. Let’s see what she says.”

Harvey went to York Enterprise early. Yvonne entered his office at the first possible moment.

“Mandy will come to deal with the legal letter this afternoon.” Harvey told Yvonne. “Just do what you’ve got to do.”

Yvonne appeared worried. She said, “CEO, do you mean that I should resolve it as quickly as possible? Or do you want me to take it slow?”

“Make it quick.” Harvey said lightly. The Zimmers had agreed to Mandy’s request. Since that was the case, his company should close the matter as soon as possible. If they take things slowly, trouble might arise. Besides, the faster this incident was resolved, the better it would be for Mandy. She could then begin building up her authority among the Zimmers.

Soon, the office was open. Mandy walked up to the reception desk to apply for an appointment with the CEO of York Enterprise.

Of course, Harvey would not see her. Instead, Yvonne immediately went to the reception room.

“Mrs Zimmer. What a surprise, we meet each other again.” Yvonne smiled and gestured for coffee to be served. She invited Mandy to take a seat.

The CEO’s wife was with her. She dared not treat Mandy coldy.

“Miss Xavier, I’m truly sorry. I came because of the legal letter issued by your company…” Mandy was worried. The legal letter sounded quite firm and harsh. Was it really that easy to solve the matter?

Yvonne sized Mandy up. After a short while, she said with a deep voice, “Miss Zimmer, I’m sure you are aware of York Enterprise’s current condition. Our new CEO is quite cautious with investments because of various reasons. You see, there aren’t many companies or families that can receive investment funds from us. You Zimmers can consider yourselves quite lucky. It’s truly unfortunate for something like this to happen.”

Hearing that, Mandy paled slightly. If she couldn’t fix this problem, she would have to endure the debt of four hundred fifty million dollars. The thought was frightening.
