Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 237

“Senior Zimmer said he wants somebody to share my responsibilities, so he made Zack the vice chairman of Zimmer Enterprise.” Mandy spat angrily. “He even told me to discuss things with Zack if anything happens.”

“I see.” Harvey frowned. “I never imagined Senior Zimmer would be shameless to this extent, just to suppress your power within the family.”

“He clearly said that if I managed to settle our problems, he’d give me the sole responsibility for the shopping centre project and the company finances.” Mandy was puzzled, unable to understand how things had escalated to this point.

“It’s quite simple.” Harvey said. “He doesn’t want you to have too large an authority in Zimmer Enterprise. It’ll affect Zack’s status. After all, for him, Zack is the heir of the Zimmers!”

“Why? Isn’t he afraid I might refuse to help?” Mandy could not accept this. “If it wasn’t for me, would York Enterprise have done the Zimmers a favor? If I didn’t care about the Zimmers, how long can they survive?”

“Whether York Enterprise would do the favor or not, isn’t the main issue. The important question is, are you able to leave the Zimmers? Can you really abandon them?” Harvey asked.

Mandy was momentarily stunned. This was the family she was born and raised in. She spent her entire life trying to contribute to the family. It wasn’t easy for her to achieve what she had now. How could she simply give everything up?

“See! That’s why Senior Zimmer dared to suppress you. He knows you won’t leave the Zimmers. And whenever the family gets in trouble, you’ll find a way to solve it.” Harvey sighed. Sometimes, he didn't know whether Mandy was naive or soft-hearted. Still, this part of her was also what he liked about her the most.

No matter what her final decision was, Harvey would not interfere. All things considered, the Zimmers were a good platform for Mandy. The outside world was rife with conspiracies and schemes. Mandy could gradually learn about them and wisen up among the Zimmers. She could take things slowly and digest the things she learned. After all, Harvey was there for her. She would not run into any problems.

At the same time, in the Zimmer Villa.

When Senior Zimmer reached home, his secretary couldn’t help but say in worry, “Chairman, won’t what happened today infuriate Mandy? After all, it seems she has quite a good relationship with York Enterprise. If things go on this way, won’t it affect the Zimmers?”

Senior Zimmer snorted. “What was her previous status in this family? What about now? Before today, she was just a nobody. But now, she’s in a privileged position. What’s there to be dissatisfied about? I gave her so much. It’s only natural that she sacrifices for the Zimmers. Do I have to make her the chairman?”

“But… Now, she has the power to decide the Zimmers’ fate.” The secretary said, worried.

“Don’t worry. She’s not that daring. She’s nothing without the Zimmers. She has to suffer in silence, even if she’s treated unfairly.”

“Besides, I’ve done enough for that useless woman.” Senior Zimmer said matter-of-factly. “How could she not be grateful?”

The secretary nodded slightly, and said no more.
