“Wow! A Porsche!”

One of the classmates exclaimed in astonishment. A Porsche was not as high-end as a Ferrari, but it enjoyed immense popularity among the masses. To the rest, both the Porsche and the Ferrari stood on the same level.

Nia felt a twinge of annoyance. She said, “It’s just a pathetic second hand car. At most, it’s just one hundred fifty thousand dollars. Compared to my Ferrari, it’s not much. A Ferrari costs around eight hundred thousand dollars!”

“What? How could there be such a vast difference in price?”

“Nia, it turns out that your husband is very rich!”

Her classmates’ jealousy towards Nia swelled further. There was indeed an incredible difference between the two cars. While a Porsche could be considered a nice car, it was nothing compared to a Ferrari.

Now that everyone’s attention was back on her once more, Nia deliberately put on a disdainful air. “Honestly, my husband isn’t as great and exceptional as you think. “Wow! This diamond ring is one karat, isn’t it?” One of the female classmates said enviously. “It must be expensive, right?”

“It’s just around fifteen thousand dollars. It’s not much. I plan to ask him to change to a bigger one for my wedding anniversary this year.” Nia replied, smiling.

Right then, Jamie said smugly, “Sweetheart, I’ve prepared a surprise for you. At first I planned to tell you on the day of our wedding anniversary. But since all of your classmates are here, I’ll be direct. I've made an order of a new diamond ring customized from Tiffany!”

“Wow, Tiffany! That’s an extravagant brand indeed!”

“I heard the diamond rings from Tiffany are exceptional in terms of their cut, brilliance and brightness. No other brands can compare to Tiffany!”

“You know, a lot of famous celebrities used the rings from Tiffany when they got married!”

At Jamie’s words, their jealousy rose even further.

Nia appeared deeply touched. She wrapped her hands around Jamie’s neck in a loving embrace and gave him a kiss. “Hubby, thank you so much. You always treat me so well!”

The male classmates who were present now bore ugly expressions. Jamie was so outstanding, to the extent they felt suffocated.

Some were unable to bear it and quickly changed the topic. “I heard Mandy’s coming today. Is that true?”

“Maybe. Usually, our school’s beauty queen wouldn’t come. Surprisingly, she’s attending this year!”

“She said she wanted to come last year, but she never did. Maybe it’s just a fake rumour?’

At the mention of Mandy’s name, Nia’s face darkened. Though she was the class’ beauty queen, she was nothing compared to Mandy, who was the reigning beauty queen of their entire school. For a long time, Nia had resented that fact.

The door of the Porsche swung open.

Mandy, Cecilia and Angel got out of the car at the same time.

At this, the male classmates’ eyes brightened.

“I can’t believe Mandy is still so beautiful even after so many years!”

“That’s for sure. Mandy was our school beauty queen. How is it possible for her to not be this pretty?”

“Mandy, you’re here at last. We haven’t seen you for so many years. We missed you!”

Most of the male classmates who surrounded Nia moments ago now turned their attention to Mandy, all of them mesmerized by her beauty.

Nia’s face flushed an ugly color.

‘The same thing happened back when we were studying in university. I was the class beauty queen. I should be envied by everyone! But since Mandy appeared, those b*stards just threw themselves at her. Can’t they see I’m much more outstanding than her?’

‘I married a rich guy! I’m married into a wealthy family! Who’s Mandy compared to me? She even found herself a live-in husband!’

“Mandy, you’re finally here! Why, look at our classmates. They’re acting just like dogs. They all want to kneel to you so badly!” Nia smiled as she squeezed her way through the crowd to stand beside Mandy.

Before Mandy could speak, Nia noticed the ‘Forever Mine’ ring around Mandy’s finger. It was more than ten karats.

She said in a scandalized tone, “Mandy, what’s wrong with you? Did you buy yourself a fake diamond ring? It’s so big! It must’ve cost you several dollars, no? How about this? Come to my house today. I’ll pick a real diamond ring for you to wear. You shouldn’t buy a fake one just to show off. It’s quite embarrassing!”

They had just met each other, but Nia was impatient to show how she was so much better than Mandy.

Angel couldn’t endure it, and was the first to lose her patience. She snapped, “Forget about those fake brands you have at home, Nia. Mandy won’t like them. You’re better off keeping them to yourself to show off to people.”

“Fake brands?” Nia sneered. “You’re the one who’s wearing fake brands! My husband comes from the Brookes. Just take a look at my new car. It’s a Ferrari! Do I need fake brands to show off? Preposterous!”
