KIARA

It was madness in here. I didn’t have time to stop and talk to anyone, healing everyone little by little. These wounds were laced with magic, but somehow I seemed to be able to heal them a lot faster and without fainting. I felt different ever since I had awoken. There was this energy rippling through me, I could feel it coursing through my veins. It wasn’t just me trying to focus on using my ability, I could actually feel it coming forth, sensing my limits and knowing exactly how much I was using.

It didn’t even feel strange and new, using my ability felt so natural as if I had carried the knowledge t o my powers since the dayI was born. Waking up and seeing Raven like that terrified me. Knowing she had put herself i n harm’s way to protect me rather than running made me so emotional. I wanted t o squeeze the lights out of her and tell her I was proud of her whilst at the same time scold her for doing so. She didn’t even have her wolf with her no matter how strong she was, she was still not of age nor at the level I was.

But I knew once she turned eighteen, she was going to be one badass – I mean she already was. queen The hospital and the pack were abuzz and unsettled. Yes, the Night Walker pack was one that was used to many brutal battles, but what concerned everyone was the fact that they got past security so easily. Alejandro’s pack had the strongest security in the kingdom. The entire pack grounds had sensors around the borders a s well as cameras.

Although there was a patrol, there was also additional security. Security and patrol had both not sensed anything on the outer sides. I saw Aunty Indy and her mate at one point helping some injured men in, appearing like any mated couple, he even kissed her once and she seemed content. I’m sorry but I don’t forgive cheating pieces of shit. Sure, we could try to give excuses and I could pretend I had misunderstood, but the smell of sex, the change of clothes and Auntie’s expression to top it off; I wasn’t stupid. The aura that had surrounded me when I had gotten angry… I wondered what that was? Was I an Alpha female? Like Mom? Just the thought made me feel a teeny bit excited… I remembered how Alejandro had knocked me unconscious too. I sighed deeply. He confused me… I didn’t miss how he kept checking in. I knew it was because of me but he didn’t even say a word to me.

That’s what we promised each other right? However I wasn’t going t o just let him off about Auntie’s mate. How could he let such crap take place here? I felt disgusted at that. “Kiara, take a break.” Aunty Indy said, quietly walking over with a bottle of Lucozade Sports drink. “I’m actually fine.” I said, taking it gratefully, seeing the concern on her face. She now turned to Bryan, who had been trailing me since I got here, and I knew who had sent him to do so – something I still find really ridiculous. Alpha Bill now huffed as he walked out of the toilet. Goddess, he just stank the entire place up.

I resisted wrinkling my nose in disgust, seeing a nurse go and open a few windows. “I’m leaving! I won’t risk staying here. I thought it was safe!” He grumbled. He had actually got hurt when he’d tried t o act brave, the Wendigo had scratched his leg. Hats off to him for not just running though. I didn’t heal him as he wasn’t really that hurt, but since being here all he had done was complain and take up an entire bed. Even Jasmin had to come and tell him to calm down at one point. We had exchanged looks but I wasn’t going to show how I felt, or how it hurt knowing she was the one who would be by Alejandro’s side.

I was truly angry at him for ignoring his pack member’s behaviour. Don’t get me wrong, I still did feel something for him… but regardless of it, I had to keep my emotions in check… “Kia.. Are you listening?” Aunty Indy said as I passed a bandage to one of the nurses. I hadn’t been here long, and I wasn’t that old, but the staff already respected me. I felt the nurses looking at me and I knew why. My aura was completely different now, I guess like me, they wondered what had happened. The rumour that the attack was linked to me was also making its rounds, but those were shut down instantly when one of Alejandro’s top- ranked men came around. I’d learnt he had squads that were led by captains who were ‘High ranked Warriors , most of whom were Beta-ranked wolves or from Alpha families.

I walked to the next young man and gave him a small smile. He flashed me a sexy smirk and I instantly knew he was one of those players. Another one of Alejandro’s annoying men it seems! “Hey Beautiful, I’m actually glad I ended u p here. I mean, I heard a lot from Luca about you. The name’s Mathew.” He said. “Really?” I said, “Arms up.” %3D “Anywhere you want them Doc?” I rolled my eyes. “Behave.” I said as one of the nurses passed me some of the bandages with the herbs on them. She had asked me earlier why I was visiting all the patients when they had been tended to, and I had told her I just wanted to.

I really didn’t see why I needed to keep my ability hidden,, but I knew if I stepped out of line, I’ll be stopped from being allowed to come here. “If I behave… Do I get a reward?” He asked with a wink, putting his arms behind his head. I smirked, I had to admit the guy was charming. Before I could even reply, I heard a low growl. My heart thudded as I sensed the dangerous aura. “Kiara. %3D My stomach did a flip as my name rolled off his tongue in a sensual manner. Goddess, help me… I took a deep breath and turned to face the Alpha King himself. Why did he just look even sexier now? A few strands of his hair, which was usually always slicked back, fell in front of his forehead. I tried not to check him out as I raised an eyebrow questioningly.

I am not forgiving him. Mathew remained silent, his smirk gone a s he lowered his head in respect to his Alpha. “What?” I asked icily. He narrowed his eyes. “We need to talk.’ “I don’t want to talk to you.” I said quietly. “Your Dad is on his way.” Alejandro said, now crossing his arms as I found my gaze falling to his bulging muscles… remembering how he had hooked my legs over them as he fucked me… I blushed lightly, looking back at his face as he raised an eyebrow. WAIT. Did he just say Dad?! “Oh no, why?!” I asked alarmed. “Let’s talk.” He said. %3D I sighed and finished off with Mathew as Alejandro stood there, his eyes boring into my back. “See you soon, doctor.” Mathew said with a small smirk. “Sure, I’ll look forward to it.” I said, smiling back at him.

I could sense Alejandro’s anger. Well too bad. He did kiss Jasmin in front of me. We are nothing, so why should I care? I took off my doctor’s coat. Underneath, I was still dressed in the same blue dress. I felt his eyes on me and I knew it was a really bad move considering I promised myself I was going to stay away from him but I couldn’t resist. I pulled my hair … out of the scrunchy and ruffled my long locks. I didn’t look at him as I ran my fingers through my hair and stretched, arching my back as I did so before I spinning around on my heel. I waved at Mathew, whose eyes had darkened at my subtle move. ” Alejandro growled murderously at him. The young man looked a bit taken aback but said nothing, simply nodding to his Alpha. “Ignore him.” I added. Yes, I was making matters worse, but I didn’t care. Also, I didn’t want to be responsible for Mathew getting hurt, so I turned to Alejandro. “Well, where to?” I hid a smirk at the fact I knew his eyes had definitely been on my ass and that I had gotten him so worked up. Don’t do this, Kiara. Remember? Respecting Jasmin… I had to keep that in mind.

I became serious again, sighing as he turned and led the way out. I frowned seeing the damp stains on his back, now realising I could smell blood mixed into his usual intoxicating scent. He was injured. He opened the door to Callum’s office and I stepped inside. I won’t lie, I was feeling a bit tíred by now. I guess I made up for sleeping through the actual fight. He closed the door behind us and I suddenly realised it was just the two of us. alone. Damn.
