Hey, My Twins Babies novel Chapter 91

Being held in Brian's arms, Winnie's heart palpitated, but she forced herself to spoke calmly.

"Didn't you fall asleep? Or did I wake you up?"

"I didn't sleep. I couldn't sleep."

He said in a low magnetic depressed voice. It made Winnie's heart ache to hear it.

"Is there any trouble in your work? Can I do anything to help?"

Brian's heart melted when he heard her sweet and gentle voice. He unconsciously held her more tightly, put his chin on her head and rubbed her head with his chin gently.

"It's not about work."

"Well, then I guess I can't be of any help."

If it was not about work, it must be about personal affairs which was either about family thing or women. If he was troubled by family thing, he wouldn't speak in such a helpless voice. Then there was only one possibility left. He was troubled by something about woman.

If that was the case, Winnie was sure that she couldn't be of any help.

"No, you can help me."

Brian averred. Maybe under the effect of alcohol, he told Winnie what he wouldn't tell her when he had a clear mind.

"I can help? How?"

Winnie considered what Brian said to be a casual remark and didn't think that she could be of any help. Maybe she was helping him by chatting with him and making him feel relaxed.

"Be my lover, or stay away from me."

Brian said in a deep voice.

His voice changed from soft to cold when he said these words. After hearing it, Winnie held her breath for a while and became stiff. Then she felt bitter.

The two choices were too extreme for Winnie. She could only either became the other woman who would be abandoned one day or left her son alone, who she had just found, and left in a hurry.

She became more and more painful. At this moment, she dared not speak, fearing that she would expose her emotion because of her trembling voice.

At the same time, Brian was waiting for her answer anxiously. Different from before, Winnie didn't reject him immediately. Seeing her reaction, Brian didn't know what to do.

If Winnie agreed with what he said, should he accept it or refuse it?

Winnie kept silent for a moment and adjusted her attitude.

"I understand what you mean. To put it bluntly, I could only either stay or leave."

"I have a question for you. If I choose to leave, will you allow me to take Luke away with me?"

Winnie asked tentatively. Although she didn't feel hopeful, she would rather leave with the kids, as long as Brian agreed.

“……”

Brian was surprised and speechless.

It never occurred to him that Winnie would make such a request.

"Why do you want to take Luke away with you?"

He spoke in an obviously colder voice and no longer held Winnie so hard.

"There are two reasons. First, I love Luke just like a mom loves her son. Second, I hate Penny, so I don't want Luke to live with her."

Winnie said openly. Brian knew that she hated Penny, so it was unnecessary for her to find other excuses.

"Penny is Luke's mommy and she loves him. If you do so, it's not fair to the child and Penny."

Hearing her unreasonable request, he somewhat sobered up and said in a cold voice.

"Mommy? Compared with her, Luke's mom, I love Luke more. I don't think it a pity to lose this kind of love. Penny didn't love Luke. Therefore, it is not unfair for me to take Luke away with me. She had told me that you're going to have a wedding ceremony, you're going to have another baby and she doesn't mind if I take Luke away with me."

No matter what, Winnie wouldn't let Luke live with Penny. Iin Winnie's opinion, t was ironic to say that Penny loved Luke as a mom.

"Was it her who said these words to you?"

Brian frowned and asked.

"You don't believe it? Forget it. I'll leave as long as you allow me to take Luke away with me. But don't worry. I'll let Luke come back to you when he grows up. After all, he is your son."

Winnie no longer said in a gentle voice because Brian didn't believe her and treated her with prejudice.

However, she wouldn't leave unless Brian agreed with her condition.

"Winnie..."

Brian warned her in a depressed, cold and louder voice.

His reaction strained her patience.

She stood up with force, sat cross-legged in front of Brian and said loudly.

"Brian, you always lose your temper with me. Do you think that it's meaningful? Can it solve any problem? Do you believe that I'll give in after you yell at me?"

Winnie looked at him unblinkingly. Just now, they talked in a good atmosphere. However, he ruined it. Could it be that he was the only who was angry and she was a fool who wouldn't get angry no matter what she heard?

Winnie paused for a while and continued to speak.

"Can we talk calmly? Can we solve the problem between us? If you hate me and want me to leave, at least be somewhat serious."

Winnie said a lot in a peremptory manner, and Brian couldn't say anything in response.

His heart palpitated again when he looked at her stern expression, her sullen eyes and her white skin.

He didn't mean to lose his temper, but he got angry easily when Winnie was involved. He neither hated her nor wanted her to leave, but there were some problems that he really didn't know how to deal with.

Brian lay on the bed, said nothing and just looked at Winnie for unknown reasons. Seeing this, Winnie was relieved because it seemed that he wouldn't yell at her again.

"Let me take Luke away. I'll definitely..."

"No way."

Winnie wanted to continue to persuade him, but Brian decisively rejected. This time, Brian prevented himself from losing his temper. He just spoke in a low and cold voice.

How was it possible that he would let Winnie leave with Luke? In that case, he would lose two important people at one time. No. he would lose three important person because Megan would also be taken away.

Being a businessman, he wouldn't do business at such a loss.

"There is another solution. You get a kind and loving new mommy for Luke. If you do that, I'm willing to leave."

Winnie had already made a compromise by putting forward this request, but it made her heart somewhat ache to make such a compromise.

"It's impossible. This matter is not as easy as what you think."

Brian rejected her proposal again.

"Why is it impossible? Penny has no advantage except that she is from a rich and powerful family. You're outstanding, and there're many entrepreneurs and people from rich families nationwide who want to marry their daughters to you. You can find one better than Penny easily."

Winnie said somewhat anxiously.

"Can you tell me why you hate Penny so much?"

Brian suddenly moved to another topic. Winnie didn't expect it, but she didn't avoid it.

"She ruined my life, so I can't let her get away with it. If it wasn't for her, I would have lived a happier life than she does."

Winnie couldn't hide the resentment in her eyes. If Penny didn't do something malicious and insidious, there wouldn't be so many disputes and she would live an ordinary life.

Having experienced what happened four years ago, Winnie certainly hated her. However, Winnie never intended to retaliate against her. If Penny didn't abuse Luke like that, she wouldn't mention the hatred between them.

Now, when Brian asked the reason why she hated Penny, she could only tell him that it was because what she did four years ago, but couldn't tell him that it was because she abused Luke.

"You mean, if she didn't tell Leo the fact, you could be with Leo, lie to him and be a liar all your life. And that's your happiness?"

Brian put on a cold expression and his eyes were sharp. He unexpectedly began to care about what had happened four years ago. Hearing her mention the words "happy life", he became angry again.

"Why do you call me 'liar'? It seems that you don't know how wounding this word is. At that time, Leo really loved me and I should have the right to love people even if I was a liar. However, I made a wrong friend who did something to the detriment of me secretly."

"That loving feeling took a lot of work, but she easily ruined it with several words. She ruined not only my love, but also my whole life. I must take revenge on her."

Winnie said openly, but she still didn't explain what happened that year. Brian had preconceived notions that was deeply ingrained in his mind, so he wouldn't believe even if she explained to him.

Now, Winnie just wanted him to know that she wouldn't let Penny off even if she was under his protection.

"Now, Leo still revolves around you all day. You can go to him and restart your love. Why must you take revenge on Penny?"

If it wasn't that Winnie had warned him not to lose his temper easily, Brian would have been furious.

Was she stupid? She mentioned another man in his presence after she had slept with him. Didn't she know he wouldn't listen?

"When love is gone, it's impossible to restart it. I'm a divorced woman with a child. Besides, my life is a mess. I'm not good enough for someone as excellent as Leo."

Instead of getting angry, Winnie calmed down.

Things in the past couldn't be changed; people couldn't put back the clock. She was destined to miss Leo.

"Don't mention this. You just need to know that I won't let Penny off. How you're going to protect her is your business."

After saying these words, Winnie sighed as if everything in the past would disappear with it.

"Let's get down to business. Since you don't allow me to take Luke away, I won't leave. No matter you hate me or dislike me, you have to put up with it my staying here."

As she spoke, she turned and got out of bed.

"Get some sleep. It's late in night."

The moment Winnie turned her back to Brian, she could no longer pretend to be strong.

Although Brian refrained from losing his temper today, some of his words still cut her.

He was partial towards Penny and said that she was a liar in an ironic way. It made her heart ache to hear these words.

If possible, she would leave before Brian forced her to. If it wasn't for Luke, she wouldn't hesitate to leave.

There had been many scars left on her. Now, Brian despised her. She would feel even sadder in the rest of her life.

"Wait. You haven't answered another question."

Brian stopped Winnie who was going to leave.

"I'm sleepy. I'll talk to you later."

There had been tears in her eyes. Having no the courage to go on, leaving was the last resort for her to keep her self-esteem.
