Hey, My Twins Babies novel Chapter 164

"Is it true that Penny got pregnant?"

Rufus solemnly asked. If it was true, it would be difficult to deal with.

“Yes, she is pregnant, but the father is not Mr. Bennet.”

Albert never lied to Rufus, became he knew that Rufus cared about Brian and helped him to deal with some difficulties that Brian could not solve.

Albert felt in the Bennet family, only Rufus was good really good to Brian. It was not for any interest, it was just father’s love for son.

“Ok, good.”

Rufus never asked too much, for fear causing trouble to Albert. He only wanted the answer he wanted.

“And, are you planning to acquire the Burns Group?”

Rufus continued.

“Yes, it has almost done. But it is not easy to see the breakthrough.”

Give me the document, I will help you with that.”

With that, Rufus came into the room. He did not need to say too much and Albert knew what he meant and would not tell Brian.

As Rufus came to the living room, Brian got up from the sofa and came to him angrily.“

“I asked you to take care of Winnie, but you allowed Penny to come here. Don’t you know Winnie is weak now. Penny could make her into the hospital again.”

Brian shouted to his father, as if venting his resentment.

“…”

Rufus did not get angry or speak. She looked at Brian apologically.

It had been years Brian had said much words with him. even if Brian was accusing him, he was pleased.

He had hoped that Brian could scold at him and that he could vent his angry. in this way, he could feel relaxed and move on.

Rufus did not speak anything, but Winnie thought he should not say that to Rufus.

Winnie got up and shouted at Brian.

“Are you mad? He is your dad, you can’t speak to him like that?”

“No, he is not my dad. My dad would not make me sad and make my woman in danger.”

Brian shouted loudly. He had forgot his father’s existence. Since the day his mother died, he had lost his father.

Brian’s words worried everyone present. Raya whispered.

“What are we gonna do? Will they get their relationship even worse?”

“Don’t take. Winnie can have him under control. Don’t worry.”

Paul said in a low voice. He was calmer than Raya.

Because he saw the facts and understood the heart of Brian. Brian's rage was related to Winnie and Winnie would be able to stop him.

Brian's words annoyed Winnie, but at the same time her heart was warm. If her EQ was not low, Brian felt distressed for her.

Well, let her be selfish, let her be pleased because Brian felt distressed for her.

Winnie held back her emotion and looked at Rufus carefully. She was afraid that Rufus would be sad for that and that their relationship became worse.

So, she could only lectured Brian.

“If he is not your father, he has no obligation to protect your woman. You should not blame him. You should protect your woman by yourself and you are the one to blame.

Winnie’s words were useful, it made Brian froze.

Looking at the angry face of Winnie, Brian had nothing to say. She was right, she was his woman, why did he want others to take the responsibility?

“Follow me.”

Winnie pulled him upstairs seeing that he had been calmed down.

When they arrived at the bedroom, Winnie felt relieved after she closed the door. It was good that Rufus and Brian did not have a quarrel.

Brian sat on the bed with a gloomy face, looking tired. Winnie felt distressed about that.

She came to Brian and sat down.

“I told you I am fine. Why did you still blame your father?”

As soon as Winnie's words fell, she was shocked by Brian's sudden embrace.

"Are you really all right? Doesn't it hurt?"

Brian could not help missing Winnie. He asked in a soft voice.

He went on a business trip for several days and missed Winnie every day. He could not eat well or sleep well, even the quality of his work had dropped because of Winnie.

When he got off the plane, he came to see if she was okay, but he didn't expect to see such a scene that made him nervous and resentful.

"I am all right, don’t worry."

At this moment, Winnie was moved by Brian's embrace. This was the moment she wanted to be a little woman, as if she had someone to love her.

"How can I not worry? You are so..."

He did not say out the word "important". He was afraid that he would fail to control himself and that he would ask Winnie to stay.

Winnie did not hear the next half sentence of Brian, so she knew that Brian had returned to reason. Her moment had passed, but it was too fast.

Winnie broke free from the embrace of Brian and said.

"Don't worry. I can take care of myself. And don't make your relationship with your dad worse because of me. Otherwise, I'll never feel at ease and I will feel I owe you."

“Winwin...”

"Your father has always been good to me. He treats me like a daughter. Today he went to the dance class to pick up Megan. He took care of us well and you misunderstood him."

Brian tried to explain, but Winnie didn't give him a chance. For Winnie, Brian’s words were superfluous. She chose not to listen to it, as least she would not feel hurt because of it.

Brian again fell into silence. He was too emotional and he did have the problem, but he failed to control himself because of Winnie.

After a short silence, Winnie found that he was tired and decided to let him have a rest.

"I'll go downstairs and check on the children. You take rest and have dinner here. I'll cook for you."

Winnie got up, but as soon as she stood up, her wrist was held by Brian.

"It is true that Penny is pregnant, but I am not the father. I told you had never had sex with her. So don’t overthink about it."

Brian explained in a low voice. He wanted to tell her when everything was over and thought that there was no need to explain since they were to part. But when he found Winnie was sad because of the child, he felt he had to explain.

"......"

Brian's explanation surprised Winnie and she could not say a word.

The pregnancy was real, but Brian was father, then who was the father? Now it seemed that it had nothing to do with him.

"Daniel should be the father. She and Daniel had been together for a long time."

Brian guessed Winnie's mind, so he explained.

"Oh, I see."

Winnie could not be silent anymore, otherwise Brian would continue to explain.

Although she was happy to hear that Brian was not the father, it didn't make any sense now. She had to leave. Brian's choice would not change depending on who the father was.

"You look tired. Lie down and rest. I'll get dinner ready for you."

Winnie once again was to leave, but Brian took her wrist and did not let her go.

Brian got up and held Winnie in his arms again.

"Take care of yourself, and don't make me feel guilty. No more danger, or I'll break down."

Brian's voice was low with sadness, melancholy with reluctance to give up and worry.

He wanted to hold this woman in his arms forever. He wanted to be with her, but he had to face the reality.

"There's no need to feel guilty. You did nothing wrong. We take what we need from each other and we don't owe each other. Don't worry. I will try to take good care of myself. I will try not to put myself in danger. You take good care of yourself."

Winnie's heart was like being torn and it was bleeding. It was not Brian broke down but her. If she continues to be with Brian, she could not leave him.

"After leaving you, everything has nothing to do with me. As long as you don't make it hard for me, my life will always be calm and nothing you worry about will happen to me."

"Take a rest, I will cook."

With the same excuse, Winnie finally broke free from Brian's arms and quickly left the room.

She had to let go of things that did not belong to her and she had to stay away from the men of others.

Downstairs, Winnie did not see the two children and Rufus and she learned from Raya they played in the yard.

Winnie came to the yard and saw Rufus sitting in the pavilion watching the two children play. His loneliness made Winnie pity him.

"Sir."

Winnie greeted him and sat down beside Rufus.

"Oh, are you all right, Winnie?"

Rufus asked with concern.

"I am fine, I'm not that weak."

“I'm sorry, Sir, Brian was so angry with you because of me. Please don't be angry with him. Don't blame him."

Winnie was afraid that Rufus would be upset and disappointed with Brian, so she explained and apologized.
