Aranav's p.o.v

Flashback

( I am drinking a glass of soda and listening to some music when Devika entered my room hurriedly and closed the door.

Before I could ask anything she turned off the music. I am surprised to see her because she doesn't come to my room often and bhai doesn't like it if we talk with each other.

I asked her surprisingly," Devika, what are you doing here? If bhai com........

" Please, help me," She said before I could say anything.

I asked her," What are you saying? What kind of help do you need?

She said looking into my eyes," promise me, you will not refuse."

" First tell me, what's happening? I am not understanding any words of yours," I said frowning my brows.

She said," Sit down on the bed and I am telling you".

I obliged her and sat down on the bed. I am wondering what kind of help she needed.

She sat beside me and said," You have to give a statement to the police. You have to say that you have seen your brother abusing me".

I stood up from my seat and said shockingly," What are you saying? I can't do that. I can never go against my brother".

She also stood up and said sadly," I need your help. Your bhai has done many heinous things with me. I want to see him behind the bar. You have also seen your brother's behaviour with me. At least help me for humanity. I want justice."

I have seen bhai abusing her it's true but I can not go against my brother. He has raised me with utmost care. He has tolerated much pain for us. How can I betray my brother!! Moreover, I am noticing that he isn't Abusing her anymore. So, I can not help her.

I said trying very hard to convince her," I understand your situation but I can not go against my brother. I request you to forgive him. He isn't abusing you anymore. Give him a chance. I know he loves you otherwise he wouldn't be so possessive over you"

I completed my saying and she started laughing like she is mocking me. I am watching her with my surprised expression.

She said sarcastically," Love!! He never loves me. Your brother is a psycho. He always found pleasure whenever he was torturing me. Indeed, he isn't abusing me recently. But, I am sure if I do anything which isn't right in his eyes than he will again beat me".

She said with too much hate and anger.

I said mentally," Bhai, what have you done!! You have lost a good wife like Devika. She only wants to punish you now".

I said with a soft voice," Devika, I admit that my brother isn't very normal. He is too aggressive. Try to understand him. Give him a chance. You can change him by giving him your care and love. Forgive him".

I really don't want my brother to go into jail.

Hearing me she said mockingly," Forgiveness!! Understanding him!! Trust me Arnav, I have tried to understand him but he always pushed me away. I am tired of this life."

She said and I saw some tears in her innocent eyes.

She said with a hurtful voice," I thought that you are different but I was wrong. How can I expect that you will go against your brother!"

I looked at her and I am feeling pity for her but I can not betray my brother. I turned my back saying," I am sorry Devika. I can not help you".

Suddenly, I felt that she has held my hands and said with her sad voice," If you have humanity inside you then help me, please".

I jerked off her hand when some of the soda fell into her saree along with my shirt. We both are slightly drenched by the soda. I am really in dilemma thinking whom should I support.

I apologised for my behaviour to her but she didn't say anything. She turned her back to leave the room with a sad expression on her face.

I called her loudly," Devika".

She turned toward me and looked at me with her questioning eyes.

I said giving her a slight smile," I can't promise but I will try to be on your side".

Hearing me, she thanked me with a smile on her face. She left my room smilingly.

I used to like her but for my brother, I never approached her. I respect our relationship. Moreover, I have found someone who loves me truly. I smiled remembering her when I felt the wetness on my chest. Then I remember that I have spilt soda on my shirt.

I just opened my shirt when Abhi Bhai entered my room and looked at me with a void expression on his face.

I asked him," Bhai, do you need something?

He didn't answer me. He said something which I didn't hear clearly and left my room closing the door with a thud sound.

Flashback ended

After two days of that incident, bhai again beat Devika and blamed her for having affair with me.

He also scolded me. He thought that we are having affair. Even after our denial, he can not believe that there is nothing between us.

He started feeling insecure and jealous of me over Devika. I was hurt thinking that my own brother isn't believing me. He was so insecure that he sent me to Germany to make me stay away from Devika.

That's when I became ready to give statement to the police. Moreover, seeing Devika's condition I couldn't resist myself to help her.

After helping her I started feeling guilty because I have given statement against my own brother. The human inside me helped a poor girl who wanted my help but the brother inside me is always guilty for going against my elder brother.

When I heard that Apeksha has arrested bhai I felt too much hurt. The brother inside me was telling me that I did the wrong thing but the human inside me was telling me that I did the right thing.

Right now, I am in my mansion in Germany. I am sitting in my room and thinking about everything.

Well, this mansion is also bought by bhai for me. He wanted me to stay comfortably. He always cares for me and I had gone against him. Trust me, after I leave India I couldn't sleep properly due to guilt.

I am thinking all this when my phone started ringing. I took the phone in my hand and saw the caller id. It's from Apeksha. I received the call.

Before I could say hello, she snapped at me," Your mental brother has again hurt my sister. She is now in hospital."

I am now confused. What's she saying!!

Bhai is in jail. How can he hurt Devika, now?

I asked her with a curious and worried tone," Will you tell me clearly? Is Devika alright?"

She said with an angry voice," Your bhai has told something to her and because of stress she fainted and I have to take her to the hospital. The doctor is checking her. I don't know she is fine or not".

I said to calm her," Relax. Nothing will happen to devika. She will....."

Before I could complete my sentence She said," After one week the trial of your brother will be held in the court. You have to come to India as soon as possible. Always remember that you are the witness."

Saying that she cut the call before I could ask anything further. I don't know how will I face bhai at the court.

Author's p.o.v

" For God's sake, she is almost 6 months pregnant. It's very dangerous for her to take any kind of stress," The lady doctor said to Apeksha.

Apeksha asked worriedly," How is she now? Is she ok?"

" She will gain her consciousness very soon but I am warning you don't let her take any kinds of stress. It can harm her babies," The doctor said writing some medicines name in the prescription.

The doctor said giving the prescription to Apeksha," Take care of her. Tell her not to skip medicines and  Keep her always happy".

Apeksha nodded her head and returned to the cabin where Devika is lying on the hospital bed unconscious.

Devika is unconscious but some voices are echoing inside her mind.

" Your mother is a murderer."

"She is a marriage breaker."

" I hate her with my whole heart".

" I killed my father removing the oxygen mask from his face".

" I hate you".

" I hate your father".

" You are not my daughter".

" I will kill your brother and sister."

" I will kill your bitch mother".

" You are a betrayer".

" You are a whore".

" You are just like your mother".

These words are roaming inside Devika's head and she is sweating in her senseless state. Suddenly, she woke up and sat up on the hospital bed breathing heavily. She looked at her surrounding and found herself in the hospital. She is feeling too much restless.

She heard a lady voice and the voice asked," Devika, are you ok?"

Devika looked at the source of the voice and found Apeksha. Apeksha is looking at her worriedly.

Devika hugged Apeksha's waist and said with a scared voice," Di, he hates me so much. He will kill me with my children. He hates my full family. He will not spare me".

Apeksha said patting Devika's head," Relax, Devika. I am here. No harm will come to you".

Now, Devika started nodding her head vigorously and said," She said that she hates me. I am not her daughter. Di, she doesn't love me".

This time Apeksha is confused hearing Devika. She asked Devika holding Devika's shoulder," Whom are you talking about? Tell me everything".

Saying that Apeksha gave Devika a glass of water and Devika drank it in one go.

Apeksha said holding Devika's both hands," Now tell me everything".

Devika took a deep breath and started saying everything about Abhinav. She told Apeksha whatever Abhinav told her in the jail. Then, she told Apeksha about her mother's words which Bhabani told Devika when she was mentally ill.

Devika said almost crying," My mother can't do all this. Whatever happened to his mother, I am sure it was all done by Vivek uncle. My mother can't be a marriage breaker. She loved my father with her whole heart".

Hearing everything Apeksha said," Whatever your mother said, she told all this when she wasn't in her mind. She was almost mad. There is no value of a person's words who was mentally unstable".

Devika is looking at Apeksha with her innocent eyes.

Apeksha said gritting her teeth," But, your husband was completely fine when he was beating you and raping you. And he is a manipulative jerk. He told his miserable childhood condition to you so that he can gain your sympathy. Moreover, there is no guarantee that he was telling the truth. He wanted you to melt in his words and forgives him. I have seen this type of people many times in my career".

Apeksha's hatred towards Abhinav is beyond level.

Devika said worriedly holding her belly tightly," He hates me so much that he will not think twice before hurting me. I am not afraid for myself. I am afraid for my babies. I don't want them to get any kind of harm".

" he is in jail. He will not be able to harm you. You are safe,"  Apeksha said caressing Devika's cheeks.

Devika looked at Apeksha and said with an afraid tone," No, Di. I am not safe. He might be in jail but his men are out there. If he orders them to kill me than they will not hesitate before killing me with my unborn children".

Apeksha can understand Devika's condition. This poor girl has faced the worst side of Abhinav and now she is totally afraid of him. She is right. Abhinav will not think twice before killing her.

Apeksha said cupping Devika's face," Listen to me. You don't have to be worried. You and your mother will live with me in my house from this onward".

" But, di. How can I!! You have already helped me so much. You don't have to take me to your house. You can just appoint some policeman and tell them to......."

" I am elder than you. So, listen to my words. You will live with me and that's final," Apeksha said smilingly.

Devika asked Apeksha," why are you helping me so much? I am not your relative or we don't have any blood relation".

Apeksha hugged Devika and said stroking her hair," You are like my little sister. I don't have any siblings. I am the only child of my father. I always wanted siblings and I have found you all. You, Ruhi and Neel are my little brother and sister".

Hearing Apeksha's affectionate words Devika also hugged Apeksha tightly and said," Thank you di .Thank you so much for your support".

Apeksha said mentally with too much anger," That bastard will rot in jail for hurting you. Bloody monster".

The Next Day

Abhinav's p.o.v

" What's this?" I asked that bitch officer who has put two plates in front of me.

She said giving me a sinister smile," your favourite food, kheer and boiled meat.

I am still looking at her with suspicious eyes. What's this woman up to?

" what do you want me to do with these things?" I asked her being pissed off.  I am sitting on this cell's floor and she is sitting in front of me on a chair crossing her legs.

She said giving me a smirk, " After one week your trial will be held. So, for this one week, you are my guest here. Eat this food. It's just a formality from your host".

Seeing her smirk I know there is something wrong with these foods. I looked at the food carefully and understood that the meat is only boiled without any kind of salt and spices. And the kheer is looking fine. But, I am sure there is something wrong with the kheer also.

So, she wants me to eat all this to punish me. Lol!! This officer doesn't know what kind of disgusting food I have consumed when I was little. These foods are nothing for me whatever I have eaten in the past. 

I took the kheer and put it in my mouth and immediately threw it on the floor because the kheer is too much salty.

I looked at her and found her smirking with a contented face. I remembered that day when devika also served me salty kheer and I punished her for her mistake. She knew my anger but still, she used to do mistakes. 

So, this officer is taking revenge on me. Huh!! I can see her satisfied face seeing me throwing up the kheer.

I can't let her feel the satisfaction.

I gave her a smirk and said," Officer, you don't know me well. I have eaten much disgusting thing than this. It's nothing for me".

Saying that I ate the whole kheer though I was feeling that I will vomit anytime. But, I controlled myself. I can not let this bitch see me struggling with my food.

She asked me with her shocked expression," are you insane? How can you eat this kheer!!!"

I didn't answer any of her questions. I gave her another smirk and ate the whole meat without any sound. She is still looking at me with her wide eyes. She wasn't expecting that I will react like this.

I am enjoying her shocked expression. What she thinks of herself! I am Abhinav Agnihotri. It's not easy to break me because I am already broken. The new vicious Abhinav isn't so easy to break.

She is getting irritated by my impassive reaction but very fast she composed herself and took out a paper from her pocket.

She said showing it to me," I have requested the upper party for your remand and they have permitted me for your 2 days remand. Shall we start?"

Saying that she called one of the constables to give her some police stick. And a constable gave her 3 sticks.

She said showing the sticks to me," Mr, Abhinav Agnihotri, I am going to break these 3 sticks on your back. Aren't I a good host?"

So, she wants to beat me black and blue. I gave her a sarcastic smile and said opening my shirt," You want to beat me, Right? Then, beat me. I am ready. Trust me, officer, I have tolerated such beatings that you can not even imagine in your dream".

Hearing me, she is now shocked beyond level. I can see raw anger in her eyes. She stood up from her seat and started beating me.

She is beating me with the sticks but I am not feeling anything. My bastard father used to beat me with rod. This sticks slashing is nothing for me. I am bearing all the beatings without any sound. I didn't even hiss in pain.

She is telling me to confess about the murders, drug dealing, abusing my wife and many more crimes. But, I am not confessing anything. Because whatever I have done, I did whatever should be done!!!

She really broke 3 sticks on my back. I can hear her heavy breathing because she is tired after beating me. I was lying on the floor without any shirt.

I stood up on my feet and wore my shirt. I looked at her and found her looking at me with a frustrated look.

I leaned towards her ear and said sarcastically lowering my voice," you have put your hands on Abhinav Agnihotri. Trust me, officer, you will regret all your actions".

She gave me a disgusted look and left the cell locking it. I smirked seeing her defeated self.

After two days

"Sir, I have arranged everything according to your order about Rajendra Kumar's murder case," Omkara said to me and my lawyer nodded his head.

" That's good. I am sure that I will be proven innocent in this case," I said with my normal tone. I am sure that I will get away from this murder case.

It's been four days that I am in this cell. I am feeling suffocated inside this blocked cell.

I asked my lawyer," And what about this domestic violence case? How will I win this case?"

" Sir, the thing is...." he couldn't say anything further and gulped down his saliva. He is too much afraid. Sweat beads are forming on his forehead. Only looking at his face I can say that he is scared of telling me the actual fact.

I yelled loudly," Just tell me the fact. Why are you babbling?"

Hearing my roaring sound he started saying with his shaky voice," The case is about woman which is a very sensitive issue. It's quite difficult to get bail in this type of case. Moreover, all the proofs are against you and the victim has given her statement with real medical reports so it will be very tough to win this case".

I knew that he will say something like that. I said being pissed off," I know all this. Just tell me the way. What should be done?"

The lawyer said licking his dry lips wiping the sweat from his forehead with a tissue," if your wife takes back the case willingly, only then you will be able to come out from the jail".

Hearing him I stood up from the chair and said angrily," Are you kidding me? My wife will not take back the case at any cost".

I know that devika will never take back the case. She is hell bound to send me behind the bar.

Before my lawyer could say anything a constable came and informed me that the meeting time is over. So, my lawyer and Omkara have to leave.

I told my lawyer," Find out a way as soon as possible."

The lawyer nodded his head and immediately left the cell. But Omkara stopped. I looked at him with questioning eyes.

He said lowering his voice," Sir, I have an idea".

I asked him frowning my forehead," What? Tell me quickly"

" Sir, if I kill your wife then she will not be able to present in the court and can not give he......" He couldn't complete his sentence when I choked his neck and lifted him up by his neck.

How dare he think like that! How dare he think to hurt her. Though she betrayed me but I will never harm her in this condition. She is carrying my babies inside her! This bastard dares to think of hurting her!!!

I said putting pressure on his neck," throw away the idea of hurting my doll. She is the mother of my children. She is mine. Only I will decide what should be done with her. If you think to hurt her than I will wipe away you and your whole family from this world".

Saying that I put more pressure on his neck and he is thrashing his hands to free himself. Two Constable came running to free Omkara from my hold. They are pulling my hand but I am not leaving him. After a few seconds, I left him and he immediately fell down on his knees and apologised to me for his mistake.

I said dangerously pulling his hair," Devika is only mine. Mine to care, mine to hurt, mine to break, mine to heal. Never ever think of hurting her. Now, get lost and come next time with some useable idea".

He left the cell hurriedly before I lost my control. I have to come out of jail anyhow. I can not let that bitch Bhabani breath anymore. I have to punish her. 

Devika's p.o.v

" Ma, what are you doing? It's normal to have stretch marks in pregnancy," I said to ma who is very busy applying some oil on my belly to remove the stretch marks.

She said rubbing more oil on my belly," how can I let these ugly marks make my daughter's body ugly. My daughter is beautiful from the very first and will remain always beautiful".

I am just watching her silly behaviour. I don't know why she is too much worried about my outer look. She is feeding me healthy foods and taking care of me.

Her health condition is not that good but still, she is busy taking care of me.

After applying the oil she went out of my room and came back with some fresh fruits in her hands. She fed me all the food with the utmost care. I am just watching her with admiring eyes and my subconscious said," the woman who takes care of her daughter so much, loves her children so much can't do any kind of crime."

After feeding me she wiped my mouth with a tissue paper and said caressing my cheeks," I am sorry, dear".

I asked her softly," for which reason?"

" That Abhinav Agnihotri kept abusing you but I didn't take any steps to free you from him. It was my fault that you have to endure his torture," She said sadly.

I said holding her hands," It's ok ma. He is in jail now. His trial will be held after three days. He will be behind the bar for torturing me". 

She smiled at me and patted my head. I informed her that we have to move to Apeksha Di's house for some days. It's dangerous for both of us to live alone because Abhinav can hurt us. She understood my every word and ready to move to Apeksha di's house. 

Whatever Abhinav has told me in the jail, there is no guarantee that he was telling the truth. My mother can't do all those shameful acts to her childhood friend. I don't want to think about him anymore. Enough of thinking about his miserable childhood. Right now, I just want a peaceful life with my mother, my siblings and my children. There is no place for him in my life.

Author's p.o.v

Devika and her mother reached Apeksha's house. Seeing them Apeksha is very happy and greeted them.

But, Bhabani became shocked seeing Apeksha because Apeksha and Devika look so similar.

She is now thinking something deeply when Ruhi and Neel come running towards her.

Both of them hugged their mother and cried out loudly. Bhabani also cried out seeing her beloved children after so many days.

Devika is also crying. This time her crying isn't for any kind of sadness. She is crying because of happiness. After all, her whole family is with her after many days.

They all seated in the living room area and started talking about Devika's pregnancy and Abhinav's case.

Bhabani said to Apeksha with too much anger," Make sure that bastard rot in hell. He harmed my children. He is really the son of a bitch".

Apeksha assured Bhabani," Don't worry, aunty. The court will give him punishment for his every crime. After 3 days his trial will be held. I promise you that he will be behind the bar".

They all are talking when they heard a deep male voice. The voice said," Apeksha? Who are these guests?"

All of them turned their head behind and found a middle-aged man who is watching everyone with scrutinising eyes.

Apeksha walked towards the man and said holding his hand," Dad, this is devika and her mother. Ruhi and Neel's mother. Don't you remember? I have already told you about them".

The man nodded his head in positive but he is shocked seeing Bhabani and Bhabani is also shocked seeing the man. The man is now looking at Bhabani with wide eyes.

Their eye contact is broken when Apeksha said," Devika, Meet my Father, Mr Naveen Sinha."

Devika greeted Mr Sinha and Mr Sinha is surprised seeing Devika's face.

Some tension can be felt between Bhabani and Naveen. But both decided to remain silent.

Bhabani said mentally," Why this man is here? That means Apeksha is Kamlesh's elder daughter".

On the other hand, Naveen said mentally," What's this woman doing here? I don't want my daughter to leave me".

At Night

" You are in my house that's ok but I don't want my daughter to know about her real mother," Naveen said looking at Bhabani.

Bhabani said smiling," Relax, Mr Sinha. I am not very eager to take your daughter. She is yours and will remain yours".

Naveen nodded his head and said with a worried tone," I don't want to lose my daughter. She is my only family. So, I want you to shut your mouth forever".

" Of course, I will shut my mouth forever. I never wanted her back then nor I want her now. She is your daughter from the day when I gave her to you in your hands," Bhabani said with a smile.

Both are now talking about some matter unknown to the fact that someone has heard their conversation and the person is now totally confused.
