Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 11

Chapter 11 Super Spicy Seafood Flavored Ramen

"... Alright then, tell me what I can do for you to believe me?" Margaret was on the verge of begging this unreasonable man.

"I won't believe you no matter what!" Charleston crossed his legs elegantly and said, "I'll give you three minutes. If you still don't hand the photo over, I'll have Larry take you away and lock you up. Then, I'll torture you until you spit the truth out."

Margaret felt a chill down her spine. "How dare you? This is illegal!" she refuted.

"Of course, you have another choice to avoid getting locked up." Charleston continued coldly, "In order to prevent you from leaking the photo, you have to provide me with a similar photo."

A similar photo....

Was he referring to nudes?

"In your dreams!" Margaret gnashed her teeth, her face warming up into a shade of red. "Get out. Get out of here!" she yelled.

She didn't know how long she could keep holding herself back from murdering this man.

"Are you sure you want me to get out of here?" Charleston said while squinting his eyes.

For a second there, she almost forgot that he was the investor of the advertisement clip.

Margaret took a deep breath, then forced a flattering smile. "But I really didn't see the photo you're talking about. Please give me a few more days, Mr. Limbaugh. If I manage to find it, I'll surely hand it to you."

The man narrowed his eyes, thought for a moment, and acted like he was forgiving her. "But before that, you must stay here obediently and not leave the house." he ordered.

Margaret raised four fingers and pledged, "I swear."

The man suddenly stood very close to her, pouring his dark eyes into hers. "You'd better not lie to me," he threatened.

"Don't worry about that, Mr. Limbaugh." Margaret tried to smile sincerely at him.

The man got up with one hand in his pocket. He was much taller than Margaret, towering over her entire frame. He raised his leg and began walking towards the door.

Margaret immediately breathed out a sigh of relief and quickly bid farewell to him, "Take care, Mr. Limbaugh!"

A rumbling sound suddenly escaped from Margaret's stomach.

The grumbling was particularly loud in the empty room.

Margaret instantly felt embarrassed.

"I'm a little hungry. I was just about to cook something to eat when you showed up." She explained awkwardly.

"What are you going to cook?" Charleston asked casually.

"Some ramen, Mr. Limbaugh, would you like to have some?" Margaret feigned yet another smile.

"Sure!" He replied.

Margaret's smile froze.

Had she misheard that?

Why did this man give her a different reply than the one she had expected him to?

When she invited him for dinner, she was just being polite and courteous. She didn't expect him to actually accept her invitation.

Furthermore, Mr. Limbaugh was rich and could have any delicacy he desired. Why would he want to stay here and eat her instant noodles?

"Are you not willing to have me for dinner?" Charleston raised his eyebrows.

"No, of course not..." She was reluctant on the inside, but since she had already invited him, she couldn't take her words back.

Margaret was also afraid that she would make the advertisement's investor unhappy.

He could easily dismiss her role as Tiana.

"Instant noodles?" Charleston looked at the packages she took out from the cabinet.

"These are no ordinary instant noodles. They're Super Spicy Seafood Flavored Ramen!" Margaret said.

"Is there any difference?" Charleston raised his eyebrows again.

Margaret's mood was instantly deflated. "No..." She answered.

Margaret began boiling the noodle's water in the kitchen. After it boiled, she added the instant noodles and the spicy seasonings into the pot.

She loved spicy food and couldn't live a day without them.

Charleston stayed seated on the couch. His tall figure and strong aura stood out like a sore thumb in the small room.

He watched Margaret busily prepare the noodles in the kitchen. His eyes suddenly softened at the sight of this.
