Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 20

Chapter 20 The Douchebags' Engagement

Meanwhile.

In the courtyard of the Simons family.

Zachary had sent Stephanie back to the Simons family's house.

"Zachary, you've been with Stephanie for a long time. It's time to start thinking about your future, no?" William suggested.

Stephanie blushed and said, "Dad..."

"Uncle, I have already discussed this with my parents. We are planning to get engaged by the end of this month," Zachary replied.

"Great. As parents, we are happy as long as you two are happy and have a blissful relationship. Stephanie is my only daughter. You have to treat her well." William looked at them happily.

"You have nothing to worry about, Uncle," Zachary replied. This was not the first time William had hinted at their marriage, but for some reason, Zachary sounded somewhat impatient this time.

What did he mean by Stephanie was his only daughter?

Although Margaret was an adopted child, she was still considered a part of the Simons family in the eyes of the law.

Margaret's face involuntarily appeared in Zachary's mind. She had grown more beautiful and attractive now than she was four years ago.

Zachary had always thought that Margaret still loved him, but she affectionately called another man her honey, and this was eating him alive.

Despite this, he kept his true feelings and emotions hidden.

The three of them continued discussing the preparations needed for the engagement banquet at the end of the month.

Zachary only left the Simons family's house late in the night.

In the living room.

Stephanie looked frazzled. She said to her father in a low voice, "Dad, I met Margaret today."

"Has she returned to Haverland?" William's smile disappeared.

"Yes, I saw her at the Emperor Hotel with a rich old man. She somehow offended the man and was then chased out."

"What a disgrace." William was so irritated that he slammed his fist on the table. "Only she would casually sleep with men."

"Zachary and I asked her if she needed help, but..." Stephanie lowered her head and bit her lips. Her eyes became weary. "She just shooed me away. And it seems like she has a boyfriend."

"A boyfriend?" William was surprised.

"Yes, her boyfriend drove an inexpensive car to pick her up," Stephanie emphasized on the fact that Margaret's boyfriend was possibly someone of limited means.

"If she's sleeping so casually with men, why didn't she choose a better one to hook up with?" William scorned coldly.

He quickly sighed again and sounded distressed when he said, "Stephanie, you are too kind-hearted. Margaret doesn't belong in the Simons family anymore. You no longer have to suffer for her sake in the future."

...

It was already past eleven when Margaret finally reached home. She was so sleepy that she didn't even bother taking a bath. She went to bed immediately.

She was awakened by her mobile ringtone the next day.

She answered the call without checking who it was, "Hello?"

"Margaret, you offended Mr. Andrews yesterday. Do you know who he is? He is the second major investor of Ancient Star. Your role as Tiana has been withdrawn. You don't have to wait for the crew to inform you about the filming date anymore," Sandra gave Margaret a mouthful, sending a train of words into her ears.

Margaret sat up in an instant and frowned. "What did you just say?"

"I said the Tiana role is no longer yours." Sandra didn't want to waste her time with Margaret, so she hung up the phone immediately.

Margaret's mind went blank as she listened to the phone's dial tone.

It took some time for her to come to her senses. When she did, the corners of her mouth curled into an ironic smile.

She had worked so hard for this role, but it was gone now because of their words.

At Galaxy Entertainment.

Margaret marched into the company. As she was an artist under the company's employment, she went in smoothly without any obstruction.

As soon as she arrived outside Sandra's office, she kicked the door right open.
