Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28 It Tastes So Sweet

"Do you like getting intimate with me?" Charleston raised his eyebrows, asking his question sensually.

Margaret wished she could bite off her own tongue.

She was literally jumping into the trap she had set for herself.

"Are you concurring with silence? Huh?" Charleston poked.

Of course not!

Fortunately, Charleston stopped teasing her at this point.

"You just choked on a piece of beef. Have some mushrooms first," he said.

Margaret stared at the mushroom that Charleston scooped from the soup and asked in a daze, "This mushroom?"

"What other type of mushroom do you want?" Charleston looked at her teasingly.

Margaret blushed. "Ahem, ahem... This mushroom is good. It... It also helps to prevent cancer," she stuttered in awkwardness.

"Well, have more of it then," Charleston responded thoughtfully.

Yes, she had to stuff more food in her mouth so she would not say anything embarrassing anymore.

The hotpot was boiling, and the waiter had come in twice to pour more soup into their pot while they were eating.

Margaret's mouth was so greasy at this point, but she couldn't care less as her heart ached so much at the thought of having to pay for everything.

She had to get herself very full to comfort herself from the pain.

Finally, Margaret reached her limit and couldn't have any more food. She rested her head on the table and saw her reflection in the mirror on the wall across from her. She couldn't help but sigh, "Only hotpot can make my lips this red."

Charleston said seriously, "There's another way you can have super red lips without eating hotpot."

"How?" Margaret asked, curious to know the answer.

"Just let me kiss you very hard!"

Margaret went speechless. She refused to converse with this hooligan.

The remaining dishes that she could not finish eating were all packed up for takeaway. These would be her meals for many days to come.

After taking the takeaway box from the waiter, Margaret walked up to the front desk, looking as if she was ready to go on a battlefield and die. She took out all her bank cards and said, "Hi, the bill for Room 57, please."

"Hi, Miss, the bill has been paid for," the waiter smiled.

Margaret's eyes widened. "When?"

"The bill was paid right after the orders were made," the waiter continued.

Right after the orders were made?

Margaret initially thought that Charleston had paid the bill, but he was with her the entire time while they were ordering food, so it was absolutely impossible for him to do so.

Charleston stood a distance away as he looked at Margaret coming towards him and then rushing to pull him out of the restaurant.

"What's wrong?" Charleston raised his eyebrows. She looked like a furtive hamster running away with stolen food, and he found this hilarious.

"I think there's something wrong with the restaurant's checkout counter. It actually showed that the bill was paid..." Margaret secretly told him.

Charleston was dazed for a moment. He stared at Margaret, who breathed a sigh of relief but was confused and looked guilty. Then, he looked at Larry, who was hiding not far away.

"So, are you secretly running off without paying the bill? What if I notify the restaurant about this?" Charleston narrowed his eyes and raised his eyebrows slightly.

"You..." Margaret's eyes widened. "I didn't run off without paying. It was the checkout counter's problem, not mine," she defended herself.

"You witty girl." Charleston suddenly came very close to Margaret. "I really want to have a taste of what your little mouth is made of..."

Before Margaret could respond to what he said, Charleston had already landed a kiss on her tender lips.

Margaret froze on the spot. For a moment, she forgot to struggle. A gust of wind blew by, blowing up a wisp of her dark hair and bringing her back to her senses. She then pushed Charleston away forcefully, gasping for air.

"It tastes so sweet!" Charleston's red lips curled up into a smile.
