Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 44

Chapter 44 This Man...

Margaret's lips twitched at Charleston's sudden appearance.

"Previously, it was the women's locker room. And now, the women's washroom. Mr. Limbaugh, I really wonder if you have a special hobby." After all, he was the type of person to have a photo like that in his wallet...

"Yeah, my hobby is being in love with you!" The man nibbled on her tiny earlobe.

Margaret could not help but shiver. "Charleston, stop it. Someone might come in."

"Don't worry. I've asked Larry to stand guard outside. No one will be coming in."

Margaret rolled her eyes. "That doesn't mean you can do anything to me. This is a public area!"

Charleston raised his eyebrows and intentionally changed what Margaret meant, "Are you suggesting that I can do anything to you somewhere private then?"

Margaret resisted the urge to hit him and said, "Get out of my way. I'm going out."

Charleston took her in his arms again and hugged her even tighter, "What for? To see that gigolo?"

Just a moment ago, when his car had stopped at the red light, Charleston caught a glimpse of Margaret entering the cafe with another man.

"What gigolo? He's my boss, okay?" Margaret tried to break free from his grasp and said, "Let go of me. I still have something important to do."

"He's your boss, so you smile at him? You've never even smiled at me like that before!" The great Mr. Limbaugh actually felt a little wronged because of this matter.

Margaret rolled her eyes and said, "Please, that's a sarcastic smile, okay? If you don't let me go, I'll have to reject you right here, right now."

The matter she was referring to was Charleston's proposal.

As expected, when she brought that up, Charleston's facial expression immediately changed. He unwillingly let go of Margaret.

Margaret sneered and thought to herself, "Humph, now that Ancient Star has finished filming, I won't be threatened by Charleston anymore."

"There will be a cruise party at 8 o'clock tonight. I'll pick you up. You're not allowed to refuse!" Charleston said controllingly.

Margaret frowned, "All right, I understand. Can you let me go now?"

"Okay. Don't get too intimate with Zachary," Charleston continued.

Even if Margaret looked at other men for just a second, he would feel his chest heat up in jealousy.

"I don't make the same mistake twice."

The moment Charleston reluctantly let Margaret go, she instantly disappeared from his sight.

Charleston's heart was filled with dissatisfaction when he felt his arms fall to his sides, empty of Margaret and her warmth.

...

"What's your decision?" Margaret asked when she returned to her seat.

Her tone was indifferent, but it was enough to make Zachary feel an indescribable pressure.

"I can agree to the first condition, but the second condition..." Zachary hesitated for a moment. "After all, you're still our company's artist. You can decide some usual projects by yourself, but when the company's stance is in conflict with the event you choose, we'll let the company's shareholders vote and decide."

Margaret gave it some thought and finally nodded, "Okay."

Zachary let out a sigh of relief. Little did he know, he was digging his own grave with what he had said.

"Don't worry. I won't tell anyone about the dance incident." Margaret said with a light smile.

However, she could not guarantee that others would keep this a secret!
