Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 55

Chapter 55 The Girl Who Belongs To Me

"What are you talking about? This brooch was given to me by Mr. Limbaugh!" Emilia was baffled.

Somehow, she had a bad hunch about this.

"Sorry, your details were written in the documents." The staff kept his smile on his face.

"Mr. Limbaugh is here. You can ask him yourself." Emilia furrowed her eyebrows.

How could they make such a mistake during a grand auction?

Everyone's gaze fell on Charleston.

Charleston lifted the corners of his lips and snapped his fingers charmingly.

Larry immediately played a recording.

"Mr. Limbaugh, I want this..."

"You want to buy it?"

...

"Miss Allen, our apologies. Mr. Limbaugh thought that you wanted to buy it, so he helped you bid for it since you are Miss Simon's classmate, and weren't qualified to join the bid as you weren't registered," Larry explained.

Emilia's face turned pale. She asked, "So, you're saying that this brooch was not given to me by Mr. Limbaugh?"

Not only did he not give it to her, but he only helped her because she was Margaret's classmate.

Emilia felt like she had been slapped in the face twice.

"Yes."

Larry's answer sent Emilia straight to hell.

She hurriedly took the brooch off and said, "Sorry, I don't want it anymore."

Two million dollars.

How could she get her hands on so much money?

"Sorry, but no refunds are allowed once the bid had been finalized." The staff said sternly.

Boom!

Emilia lost her cool.

"Mr. Limbaugh, please help me. Please..."

Charleston did not look at Emilia at all. He just kept playing with Margaret's black hair.

Emilia seemed to understand something instantly.

She looked at Margaret with pleading eyes and begged, "Margaret, please help me plead. I was wrong, I was really wrong..."

Margaret was a little puzzled by this. "Why are you begging me?"

"Take her away!" The staff ordered impatiently. He called two bodyguards to come lift Emilia up and drag her out.

Emilia was crying in despair as her tears and snot flowed out together.

Seeing Emilia like this, Margaret couldn't help but pity her a little. She asked Charleston, "What will happen to her?"

"Since she doesn't have the money to pay for it, she would have to do something to pay for it." Charleston said casually.

"Do what?"

"For example, washing the dishes, mopping the floor, keeping the whole cruise clean. In short, she would have to do all kinds of unpleasant and dirty tasks."

It was only then that Margaret let out a sigh of relief.

She thought that Emilia would be forced to sleep with others.

If she just had to get some chores done, then she'd be fine with this.

This was what Emilia should do anyway.

Charleston was watching Margaret's expressions closely.

He naturally knew what his little woman was thinking.

She might seem stubborn, but she actually had a soft heart.

She felt that a girl's innocence was very important.

However, Emilia did not think so.

If she was really sent to sleep with the guests to pay for her debts, her sickening character might even take the chance and seduce the guest.

However, Emilia would be completely ruined if she were to do all those filthy tasks.

One had to admit that Mr. Limbaugh was really skilled at judging people!

"Let's go. Go change into that dress. Today, you will be the most beautiful girl in the room." Charleston held Margaret's delicate hand.

Charleston planted a sincere kiss on the back of her fair hand.

"Needless to say, you are the girl who belongs to me!" Charleston continued.

Margaret slightly drew her eyebrows together.

Neither of them had expected that there would be a commotion at the dance later!
