Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 62

Chapter 62 A Malicious Witch

It was him who was eager to see Margaret suffer a defeat.

However, at that moment, he was forced to support Margaret.

He felt like he had slapped himself in the face.

Zachary sighed and swallowed all the unwillingness he had.

"What's your name?" Margaret turned to ask the girl.

"My name is Lacy, Lacy Lawson!"

"Okay. From now on, you will be my assistant." Margaret smiled and said, "Would you like that?"

Lacy quickly nodded her head.

Of course, she would!

If an assistant had an artist to take care of, then they would have to stick by the artist's side.

This way, Lacy would not have to bear the brunt of Bianca's anger anymore.

Besides, Lacy liked Margaret very much.

Margaret nodded happily.

There were two reasons why she chose Lacy.

One, she felt good about Lacy.

Two, she had helped Lacy out.

Margaret did not need an assistant who was very capable and smart. She only needed them to be loyal to her.

Therefore, Lacy, who was new to society and had been helped by her, was obviously the best choice.

Not only did Margaret have an assistant and a manager now, but she also had a lounge and a car specially for her.

Surprisingly, this was how the company's second-tier actresses were treated.

Following company policies and procedures, prior to the approval of these, the company had to let the shareholders know of them.

When they were informed of Margaret's behavior and requests, the company's shareholders were very unhappy with the treatment provided to Margaret, who was only an unpopular newbie.

Thus, they started having a bad impression of Margaret.

This was as intended by Zachary.

Previously, he had made an agreement with Margaret that the shareholders would vote and decide whenever they had a conflict.

In order to control Margaret in the future, Zachary had already started to smear Margaret's image in front of the shareholders.

Margaret was not stupid. She knew what Zachary had up his sleeves.

However, she was not worried at all. Instead, she enjoyed all these little games very much.

"It's easy to be my assistant. As long as you're obedient, that's enough for me. But most importantly, don't ever betray me. Do you understand?" Margaret laid out some important points to Lacy as she snacked on some raisins.

Margaret did not hear any response for a very long time. So, she asked again.

Then, she noticed that Lacy was staring straight at her without blinking. Some drool even started to form at the corner of her mouth.

...

Margaret shouted at her.

It was not until then that Lacy came back to her senses.

She had been totally awe-struck by Margaret's beauty. She was just too gorgeous.

Margaret repeated the question again, "Do you understand?"

"Don't worry, Margaret. I will never betray you!" Lacy hurriedly nodded her head.

Suddenly, the lounge door was pushed open.

Sandra walked in.

Margaret said in a low voice, "Don't you know how to knock before coming in?"

Sandra was fed up with Margaret's arrogant look. She was about to argue back when she remembered Zachary's words. It was only then she decided to hold back her anger.

"Let's wait and see, Margaret. You're arrogant now, but you'll be in a great deal of trouble in the future." Sandra thought to herself.

"I understand."

"Next time just get out of my sight if you make such a basic mistake again!" Margaret looked up. "Has the jewelry advertisement been officially broadcasted abroad?"

"Not yet. Margaret, I feel like you should not think too much about that advertisement. It won't do much for your popularity, so don't expect anything from it because you were overshadowed by Stephanie the entire time," Sandra said disdainfully, "It'd be better for you to start with supporting roles which is my new role for you."

Margaret took the document in hand and started reading, "Ha, it's a low-cost production. Is the role a supporting role or a malicious witch?"
