Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63 Suanne's Investor

"You are just a nameless artist with no solid portfolio. You're lucky to even be considered for this role," Sandra said disdainfully.

Margaret lifted her eyebrows and did not speak.

Sandra could not help but feel a little happy when she saw Margaret speechless.

Sure enough, Mr. Whelan's strategy worked.

They would ask Margaret to take on roles on second or third-rated shows.

Furthermore, she would be playing sadistically evil characters that would be disliked by the audience.

This way, Margaret would have a zero chance of becoming famous.

"Why? You don't want it? This is the company's arrangement, Margaret. Do you want to go against the company's will so soon after joining?" Sandra asked through gritted teeth.

Margaret put the script away and said, "Of course not. Please share the shooting details when you can. You may leave now, I want to rest."

Sandra snorted and headed out of the room.

Though she was Margaret's manager, Sandra was too irresponsible.

And not only was she irresponsible, but she also wanted to take Margaret down.

She wasn't secretive about her motives either.

However, Margaret could not do anything to her yet.

She watched as Sandra took her leave.

Lacy felt that the company was being unfair towards Margaret. She voiced out her thought, "Margaret, they've gone too far. It's obvious they're trying to bring you down. That's why they're making you play these roles."

A newbie's debut show to the public was of paramount importance.

It held so much weight as it would directly affect the audience's impression of the artist.

Therefore, many artists would choose to play the role of a good character for their debut.

"Bring me down?" Margaret looked thoughtfully at the script in her hand. "In fact, I think this role might be my big break."

Lacy looked at Margaret's mysterious face, feeling confused and puzzled.

Suddenly, Margaret's cell phone rang.

Margaret took out her phone and looked at it. An unknown number was calling her.

She frowned slightly. In the end, she answered the phone.

"Hello, is this Margaret?" A gentle voice came from the other side.

Margaret raised her eyebrows and immediately knew who the voice belonged to, "Suanne?"

"Yes. I have something to tell you. Are you free to come out to talk?" Suanne said, sounding like she was smiling from the other end.

Talk?

Margaret narrowed her eyes and replied, "Can't you talk to me over the phone?"

"That's not a good idea," Suanne said.

Margaret thought for a moment. Finally, she nodded and agreed, "Okay, let me know the address. I'll be there in a bit."

Suanne immediately gave her the details of their meetup.

Once she got the information she needed, Margaret hung up the phone.

She then saw Lacy looking at her with a face full of curiosity. Lacy asked, "Margaret, were you on the phone with Suanne just now? The one in entertainment?"

"Yes. What's wrong?" Margaret replied.

"Ah, you know Suanne?" Lacy stated in surprise.

"She's a former classmate."

"Margaret, why don't you ask Suanne and see if she can do anything to help you? If you can get her to help you, then we won't have to shoot this show." Lacy suggested. She sincerely wanted to help Margaret out.

Margaret raised her eyebrows and asked, "Is she that great?"

To be frank, Margaret never tuned in to any news or gossips regarding the entertainment industry before she returned to Haverland.

If it were not for the fact that she needed money...

Therefore, Margaret did not know much about Suanne.

"Suanne isn't great, but the Limbaugh Group is. The Group has been supporting Suanne for the past few years. Some say that the chairman of Limbaugh Group, Charleston Limbaugh, might even be Suanne's biggest investor!"
