Honey, I'll Make You a Star (Margaret and Charleston) novel Chapter 66

Chapter 66 Mr. Limbaugh Is Here

"Oh." Margaret nodded calmly.

Margaret's response made Stephanie unhappy. She asked,. "What's wrong? Are you so afraid that you can't speak?"

Stephanie was already a slightly notable artist in the entertainment industry due to the dance.

Her popularity was still on the rise.

She had the support of the Simons family and a rising popularity. Moreover, she had Ancient Star's advertisement clip to help her penetrate the domestic market.

She believed that her popularity would reach its peak soon.

In other words, her popularity might finally be on par with that of Suanne's.

"The advertisement hasn't come out yet. Who knows who would be the scared one in the end?" Margaret answered calmly.

After finishing her words, she turned around and left.

Margaret's attitude left a bitter aftertaste on Stephanie's tongue. Stephanie's chest heaved with anger.

When she returned home, Margaret took out a small amount from the income she earned from the Ancient Star for her daily expenses.

The rest of it was transferred to Milesburg.

"Please get better... You must get better..." Margaret prayed in her heart.

She took a deep breath and suppressed the strange feeling she had in her heart. In the end, she was so exhausted that she fell asleep on the bed.

...

When Stephanie returned to the Simons family, she saw her father with a mixed-race middle-aged man. "Dad," she greeted.

"You're back. Come here. This is Mr. Wayne." William said hurriedly.

"Mr. Wayne." Stephanie nodded at the stranger. She was puzzled.

"This must be Miss Stephanie." Wayne nodded. He spoke in Haverland's native language fluently, "The old master had seen you dance in that dancing video and thought you danced very similarly with an old friend. He will be back in Haverland after half a month. He hoped that by then, you would meet up with him."

"Dance?" Stephanie thought to herself,

"It's about that dance again?"

Her face instantly turned pale.

"Of course she will." Before Stephanie could speak, William already helped her respond.

"Great. I've got a few things to do, so I will take my leave first. I'll come by for Miss Stephanie in half a month." Mr. Wayne nodded in response.

He then got up and walked outside with the stranger. His every move was elegant and noble.

Soon enough, Mr. Wayne figure's disappeared from sight.

It was only until then Stephanie looked at William and asked, "Dad, who was that man just now?"

"Mr. Wayne is Master Sherman's butler." William said mysteriously. There was a hint of excitement in his eyes.

"Could it be... the legendary Sherman family?" Stephanie was taken by surprise.

William nodded. He patted Stephanie's shoulder with gratification and said, "My dear daughter. I didn't expect that Master Sherman would take a liking to your dance. If we can win the favour of Master Sherman, we won't have to worry about anything else for the rest of our lives."

Stephanie forced a smile at her father.

If it was really Stephanie who danced, she would naturally be delighted and pleased about this opportunity.

However, Margaret was the real dancer.

How would she be able to dance like that with no talent for dancing whatsoever?

If Master Sherman were to discover that Stephanie was a phony then...

Stephanie's face was as white as a sheet.

William looked at Stephanie and assumed that she was tired. He told Stephanie, "Go rest. You've done much better than Margaret. It's a blessing for me to have a daughter like you."

Stephanie swallowed back the words she wanted to say.

She did not dare imagine William's reaction if she were to tell him the truth.

Stephanie held back her explanations and forced herself to nod.

She headed to the second floor in a dull mood.

"What should I do, what should I do..."

Stephanie's mind was crackling with activity as she wrecked her brain over her next move.

All of a sudden, her eyes lit up. She came up with a vicious plan.

Stephanie's mouth curved upwards into a smile.

"Oh, Margaret. Don't blame me for being cruel. Blame yourself for being better at dancing than I am." Stephanie thought to herself.

...

Demon Hunter's first shooting was in Shington Studio City.

Although Margaret was the supporting role of the second unit, she had to be present.

She had to get her costumers ready, among other things.

Most of the actors of this play were newcomers. Initially, they thought the play was just a small production. No one expected the Limbaugh Group to invest in it.

Now, everyone was helplessly excited.

Margaret was waiting in the lounge. She did not have many friends in the entertainment industry as she just came back from abroad.

Therefore, she was alone while others were scattered in their respective small groups.

"Zoey, I think it's all thanks to you that Limbaugh Group invested in our play." A female artist complimented another.

"That's right. Don't you know who Zoey is? She is Suanne's cousin, which makes the chairman of Limbaugh Group her cousin-in-law. No matter what, he should take good care of Zoey since she is his girlfriend's cousin."

...

The girl, who had been complimented, waved her hand and said, "Shh. Keep it down, you guys. Let's not brag about it."

Although she had said that, her eyes were filled with pride.

"Okay, okay, okay. We all know that Suanne wants to succeed on her own merits instead of relying on her relationship. It is really rare to have someone like her in our society." The others nodded and said with a smile.

Margaret sat by the side and listened to their conversation silently.

Then, the makeup artist called to do her makeup.

Margaret had a very delicate and versatile face. It was easy to do her makeup.

Initially, it was established that the actress playing the witch's character must have heavy makeup on, especially since female artists these days fell short on their acting skills and were not able to bring out a demon's aura. Hence, they could only use makeup to assist them.

However, no one expected that Margaret would immediately bring out the temperament of a cunning demon just by putting on a headpiece.

Her beautiful eyes were filled with villainous intent.

When the makeup artist saw Margaret looking at her in the mirror, she suddenly felt her whole body go limp.

With a hand over her heart, the makeup artist exclaimed, "It's so beautiful. I thought I would have to spend a long time doing your makeup."

She did not expect that Margaret would only need a simple touch up.

"Is that all?" Margaret asked.

"Yes. Wait a minute. Let me call the director." The makeup artist said..

Soon enough, the director came over. When he saw Margaret, his eyes were filled with amazement.

It took him a very long time to come to his senses.

"Great, great, great. This is the one. Put her in the first episode."

The most important part of an anthology series was the first episode. The audience can only be properly hooked into the later episodes if the beginning of the series was interesting enough.

"Director, did you get it wrong? Why is she the one filming the first episode?" Zoey, who was chatting with others, suddenly heard the director's words.

She quickly stood up in disagreement with the director's decision.

"Things must change according to the situation. Not to worry, you are still the main lead." The Director comforted her.

"Oh, Director, please get your sh*t together. Do you know why Limbaugh Group invested in this horrible series? It's all because of my cousin." Zoey announced delightfully.

The director suddenly looked a little awkward.

He wanted to refute, but what Zoey said was true. However, it cannot be denied that Margaret's makeup was eye-catching and fantastically done.

Suddenly, the assistant outside ran in and said, "Director, Mr. Limbaugh is here!"
