House Of Legions (The Angel Descendants book 1) novel Chapter 52

The car window went up again, Liam was certainly doing his bit to annoy the driver, “Why in the realms couldn’t we just teleport the whole way, or use the entry in Africa.” She honked the hooter again, fury torched her eyes to a golden circle of crushed glass. Liam had gotten used to his sister’s driving in the 1900’S.

He was too distracted in keeping them both from being tracked to really bother about the traffic that left them jammed in the centre of Southampton, London, or so she thought,

in fact…

He was pathetically mooning over Clare. His meeting with Kalbreal hadn’t gone as smoothly as he had hoped, it left him re-questioning his better judgment. It was a new habit he had grown accustomed to of late, but he couldn’t get her out of his mind.

Having watched her for months, wanting to meet her, talk to her. Refraining himself from actually doing it, was the hardest part, but now after Kalbreal had confessed, his gravest concerns proved to be far worse. Liam knew now, he had no choice but to be close to her, it was the only way she would be protected. But if he did, was he to hold back, was she really worth it. All this trouble, that he now faced, solely to protect her. A visioned face of hungry green eyes drowsed as they searched for his, the permanent curve of her lips opening as he held her at the bayou. A scent of breath captured from her mouth when she gasped for him, honey mixed with luscious berries, assaulted his senses.

Her bodies response to him was a normal thing. Woman swooned over him, some dug out their eyes, just looking at his hands. However, it wasn't the case with his Princess, it wasn't one-sided. They were linked in ways he didn't wish to comprehend just yet. The connection between them like a magnet made specifically to unite them as one. Once attached, he knew the magnet contained an unyielding glue, which will bind them for eternity.

But he could repel the magnet, at least for a little while longer, it was those damn breast that haunted him the most. She liked his touch, even in her innocence, her boldness in keeping his hand there, under the curve of her perky breast, it awakened something in him with every remembrance. A feeling that he himself thought would never rise.

His sister yelled him to attention, hitting her hands on his thigh, “Great, now you just ignore me, leave the window alone.”

“You should have more patience at your age, but it just seems to worsen by the decade, no wonder Kole call’s you a little vixen.”

She didn’t meet his eyes when he faced her, but her tone was serious, “Kalbreal told me what happened last night, Clare’s body rejecting Franchesca’s gifts. I knew it was her, the bearer and all, she’s just so different, so deceptor-ish, you should have told me first.” She turned into a small road, agitated.

She’d been more snippy recently, but he knew not to pry, his sister was the one woman who didn’t like to share. He was going to have to dig it out of her slowly.

Liam’s attention focused on the road ahead as they drove in a black BMW 3 series. Not wanting to draw in too much attention to themselves, “There was nothing to tell, I only confirmed my suspicions this morning, that’s why we need to get to Asguard, once I’m inside, you’ll have 2 days to get to her and please don’t frighten her, she’s vulnerable.”

A solemn smile on her lips, “You seriously going to do this? The hero is supposed to rescue the maiden not send his sister, and ambush his brother into helping.”

Liam sighed, “He probably knows, when have you known him not to dabble.”

“Since he came back, something’s changed, he’s lost. He gets calls from the Da Vinci boy a lot, it makes it worse.”

“Interesting, I’ll look into it, he’ll be fine. I’ll talk to him as soon as things cool off, I promise.”

They parked off onto a dead end, the road quiet, no one in view. She shifted gears, and drove into the wall, through the portal he made, and landed a walking distance from the Stonehenge.
