Once again, the time was fast-forwarded, and she saw a little girl playing. Looking around, she was astonished to see a huge and magnificent ancient Chinese palace.

"Wow, this is so majestic" she moved her leg to walk but froze. She can't move again. She became aware that wherever the little goes, she follows. Perhaps she was connected with her.

"Du Wen, here, this is for you" The girl stretched out her hand to give something to a young boy.

The young boy looked at her with a blank look and pushed her. He reprimanded and scolded.

"You are ugly and stupid. Why would I accept anything from a pig-like you? Next time, call me Your Highness, or else I will ask someone to punish you. You are not worthy to call me by my name!"

The girl widened her eyes in disbelief and suddenly cried. A woman rushed hearing her cry.

"Little Miss, what is wrong?" She asked.

"He called me stupid and ugly." Sobbed the girl. The woman looked at the young boy.

"Your Highness, please forgive Xue Li. She is still very young." She bowed and apologized.

"Hmp! Next time, don't let her come near me." The boy arrogantly said and walked away.

Watching on the side with nothing she can do, Sheri was bursting with anger. She wanted to grab the boy and spank him in his butt. Such a bully. She felt sympathetic toward the girl. The little girl was a bit chubby alright but very cute and for sure would grow up to be a beauty.

The mother of the girl appeared and hugged her asking why she was crying. The other woman explained to her what happened. In understanding, the mother just embraced her daughter trying to comfort her.

"Shh don't cry anymore. It's okay. Always remember, Xue Li is the most beautiful girl in the whole kingdom. The most beautiful to me, your father and the whole family. How about we go home, and I'll buy you, your favorite candy?" She coaxed which made the little girl stop crying.

"Really? You will ask someone to buy me a dragon candy?" The girl wiped her tears.

"Of course! You are my little precious girl. I'll definitely get it for you if it what makes you happy."

Seeing that the girl was feeling happy again, Sheri was relieved.

Just as they were about to leave, a voice spoke behind them, and she saw someone wearing a red robe with a crown on her head.

"If your daughter was not born in your lineage...... sigh! you might have been spared by getting married into royalty."

The two women and the little turned around. They prepared themselves to kneel down but was stopped.

"Don't" She firmly commanded.

"Greetings your Highness" They still continued with their greetings.

"(sigh)I know how you feel. Living in the palace ...(sigh)" The old woman shakes her head. "Just take good care of her." It was all she could say.

"Yes, Your Highness". The mother of the girl responded in respect.

Xue Li the whole time was just observing. The old woman gently removes on her hand a golden bracelet with precious blue stones on it and offered it to the mother.

"Keep this for her. I can see that she will soon grow up to be strong and a beauty. Her heart is one of a kind. This bracelet had been passed down from countless generations, and it is believed that it will protect whoever owns it. Take it."

The mother of Xue Lie was bewildered and didn't know what to say.

"Your Highness... I..."

The old woman shakes her head and places the bracelet on her palm.

"This is the only thing I can do for your family. Your clan and the General's clan helped this nation rise to glory. If my husband is still alive, he would not agree of ... (sigh). Give this to her on her coming of age."

"Yes, Your Highness. Thank you for the grace" The mother of Xue Li resigned and accepted the bracelet. She sighed and went their own way. The old woman looked over their departing figure one last time and continue on her way with a heavy shoulder.

Time flies at a fast-forward pace in a blink of an eye. Sheri saw how the little girl became a proper young lady.

She indeed became a beauty in the Kingdom.

For all the years that passed as she observed, she understood one thing. The family of the girl is from a known lineage of a great General. The head of the family only has one wife. They had five children, four boys and the last child was the little girl called Xue Li. The girl, being the only daughter, was the most favored and pampered. Her brothers were always there in support and to defend her most especially her overprotective father. She was much adored almost by everyone not just because of her skills and talent but because of her pure soul and sincere heart. The only person who didn't like her is the Prince.

Prince Du Wen is the first son of the Empress after the birth of two princesses. He was definitely a handsome guy becoming the most precious child on the Emperor. He has a cold persona and doesn't easily show any emotion. For Sheri, she cannot understand why the Prince didn't like Xue Li.

That year, the Prince lived on the South border of the Kingdom. For almost 8 years, Xue Li never saw and met him. No letters and news about him.

One day. Xue Li was invited to a tea party in the palace. The Empress organized a small gathering for the prominent daughters of the whole kingdom.

"Xue Li, how is the feeling as your coming of age is getting near? I bet his Highness is preparing something special for you." The daughter of the Prime Minister taunt.

Everyone knew that the Prince didn't care and like the General's daughter, Xue Li. They knew that every time they meet, he always utters an excuse of something important to do, being sick, or other silly reasons. The whole time, Xue Li learned to hide her feeling for the sake of her parents who were worried about her.

She looked at the daughter of the Prime Minister and offers a smile back never spoke nor answer her. She is wise enough not to get bicker with her.
