I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 94

Chapter 94: Not An Accident

After hearing the doctor's words, Zane got up before Bonnie and walked to the emergency room door. "I am."

The doctor took a look at Zane and then said, "The patient has suffered a severe coccygeal injury and needs to be hospitalized. She also has several bruises on her body. Nothing more. You shall go through the admission procedures and we'll send the patient straight to the ward."

The doctor then paused for a while and looked down at the case in his hand. "Fortunately, there was no fracture, otherwise the consequences would have been much more serious."

"A serious coccyx fracture will affect the lower body movement, and if the treatment doesn't go well, her lower body may be paralyzed."

Hearing the doctor's words, neither Zane nor Bonnie looked well.

"Okay, now you need to go through the admission procedures for her first." The doctor then turned around and went straight back into the emergency room.

Bonnie turned to Zane, who was standing aside. "I'll take care of that. You wait here for Yanis."

In fact, Bonnie wanted Zane to go, but she realized that everything around him was taken care of by others, it must be difficult for him to do so. So she voluntarily checked Yanis into the hospital.

"I'll pay for that."

After hearing Zane's words, Bonnie stopped and looked at him. "I know Mr. Lawrence is rich, but I don't need it."

Bonnie took a glance at Zane before turning away.

Zane waited at the door for a long time before Yanis was pushed out by the nurse.

She still looked a little pale.

Zane stepped forward and looked down at her. "Are you still hurt?"

It was a little better now than before. Yanis shook her head, "I'm fine."

Zane didn't say anything. He just reached out and gently squeezed Yanis' hand over the quilt.

Yanis, sensing Zane's move, looked at him.

As they looked into the other's eyes, the atmosphere was vaguely ambiguous.

But because there were other people around, the smell of ambiguity gone instantly.

The nurse wheeled Yanis into the room, told Zane what needs to be paid attention, and then turned to leave.

Soon Zane and Yanis were alone in the ward.

She was lying down, he was standing up.

No one seemed ready to talk.

"So, if you don't have anything else to..."

Before Yanis finished speaking, Zane's cell phone rang first.

It was Albi.

Zane took a look at the caller ID, instead of answering , he looked over at Yanis and asked, "What did you say?"

Yanis looked at Zane and pressed her lower lip slightly. "It's okay. Pick up the phone first."

Zane looked at Yanis and her brow twitched. "It's Albi."

For some reason, Zane sounded like an explanation.

Yanis gave a low hum.

"Bonnie went to go through the admission procedures, she should be back soon." Zane whispered.

Yanis nodded, "OK."

Zane shook his phone. "It's supposed to about the accident. I'll talk to him first."

"Good."

After Zane left the room with his cell phone, he answered.

The call went through. Before Zane could speak, Albi's voice came through, "Mr. Lawrence, the car was located and the driver was taken for questioning."

"And the results?" Zane asked directly.

Albi said, "The driver is a drug addict, what he said is not reliable, but he put a lot of pictures of Miss Bennett in the car, as well as some posters, he might be Miss Bennett's fan"

Zane listened to Albi and frowned. "Neve's fan?"

Albi said cautiously, "Mr. Lawrence, Miss Bennett's visit to the hospital today was exposed. Some paparazzi took pictures of Miss Bennett's injury. Her fans may have misunderstood what Miss Bennett meant, so..."

Albi hesitated because he didn't know whether to say the rest.

"So what?" Zane continued to ask.

"So maybe Miss Bennett's fans found out that Miss Bennett was injured, they thought it was your wife who injured Miss Bennett, so her male fans... did something so drastic."

After listening to Albi, Zane asked, "You mean this happened because Neve's fans saw Neve hurt and thought it was Yanis who hurt Neve, so they ran her over?"

The evidence wasn't clear, but Albi couldn't imagine why a man with a car full of pictures and posters of Neve would run Yanis over without even knowing her.

If it was an accident, an out of control, he should have stopped after hitting Yanis the first time, instead of driving the car again and running into her a second time.

Albi even wondered if Neve's male fan was being directed by someone, but then he realized that Zane was there the second time. If Neve had something to do with it, he wouldn't have run into Zane.

So this thing can only be defined as---- Neve's fans saw her injured, for Neve's justice, they cyber manhunt Yanis and thought she was to be blamed.

While Albi's analysis in his head was going on quite well, Zane's voice rang out, "It's not like that."

Albi gasped. "What?"

"If it was really about finding out why Neve got hurt, they'd be looking for Bonnie, not Yanis. If they found Yanis, how could they not know it was Bonnie?"

When Zane said this, Albi suddenly realized, "So this is a bit deliberate. The driver meant to hit Yanis?"

Zane ignored Albi and asked, "What did the police say?"

"They don't have any substantial evidence yet, and the driver insisted he's an addict and that's why he lost it."

Zane was silent for a few seconds. "Privately, let the lawyer talk to him first."

Albi replied, "OK."

Albi paused, "Mr. Lawrence, I see you're hurt, too. Are you okay?"

Zane said quietly, "It's okay. Call me when you're done."

"OK."

When Bonnie returned, Yanis was the only one in the ward. She put her things down, walked over to the bed, and whispered, "That scumbag is gone?"

Yanis shook her head. "Went to a phone call."

Bonnie said, "Well. How was it? Does it still hurt? How did you get hit by a car?"

Yanis listened to Bonnie and frowned, tried to recall the whole thing, "Bonnie, I don't think it was an accident."

Bonnie said, "What? Not an accident?"

Yanis nodded. "The first time he brought me down, the car was stuck on the steps for a few seconds. Then when Zane came to help me, he reversed the car and deliberately hit again, but Zane hugged me in his arms and avoided the car."
