Chapter 124 Less Tricks

In the room upstairs.

Anika was sitting in bed against the wall, curing up with fear in her eyes.

Catherine had been comforting her in a gentle voice but in vain.

Phoebe and Lucia had also been trying to talk to Anika.

Anika curled up, holding the covers and saying nothing.

After a long time, Anika slowly looked up at Catherine, "Grandma, let them leave!"

Lucia and Phoebe looked at Anika in disbelief.

Anika didn't even glance at them.

She was looking at Catherine.

Anika nodded, "Grandma, is sister-in-law going to divorce Zane?"

"But grandma, Zane doesn't like Neve. She has been pestering Zane because she wants his help..."

Before Anika finished, Catherine called her name and interrupted her, "It will be solved. It will be okay. Don't think about it or ask. You need to stay well for your brother."

Neve sat on the sofa, and looked somewhat listless and pale because of the injury.

Lucia didn't dare to care about Neve as blatant as just now. She simply asked about Neve's injury.

"That's good. Anika went a little out of control today, I apologize on her behalf."

Neve gave a gentle smile, "It's ok. How's Anika now?"

Lucia nodded. "She has just calmed down."

"Can I go upstairs to see her?" Neve said to Lucia, but she had been staring at Zane.

Neve said that to remind him.

Zane put his phone back in his pocket after sending a message. He looked at Neve, "I will drive you home."

Neve smiled, "Okay."

Lucia agreed, "Zane can drive you home. Call me if there's anything."

"I'll help you up." Phoebe helped Neve stand up.

"Thank you."

With Phoebe holding Neve, Zane walked in front and told Albi to get the car.

Neve followed Phoebe.

"Was it painful?" Phoebe asked in a low voice.

Neve looked at Phoebe with a smile, "What do you think?"

Phoebe took a look at Zane, who was walking in front, "Play less tricks. Zane might give Yanis the cold shoulder for you, but not Anika. That's the most important person to him."

Neve took a look at Phoebe and said nothing.

She knew that how much Zane cared about Anika, which was why she would threaten Zane with Anika back then.

As long as that she had this on Zane, Zane would do everything she asked.

But she knew that if she had really hurt Anika, Zane might actually fall out with her.

So, Neve had to be careful.

Thinking of this, Neve stared at Zane, who was walking in front, and called his name softly, "Zane."

Hearing this Zane stopped and looked back at her.

Neve walked up to Zane. "Tell Anika that I'm fine and that she doesn't have to worry about anything when you come back."

Zane listened to Neve's words and didn't say anything. He simply nodded.

Albi had driven the car over.

He got out of the car and opened the door for them.

"Get in," Zane said to Neve.

Neve got into the car.

Phoebe was about to close the door for her when she was stopped by Zane, who looked at her, "You are coming along."

Phoebe looked at Zane, puzzled.

Zane, however, didn't explain and got into the passenger seat.

Phoebe was stunned, standing by the car.

"Phoebe, get in. I might need your help." Neve whispered, sitting in the car.

Phoebe frowned and got into the car.

Albi got into the driver's seat, took a look at Zane, and then turned to ask Neve, "Miss Bennett, are we going to the Bennett Residence?"

"Drive me to the Rhinestone Mansion," Neve said softly. "My family will be worried if they saw me like this."

Albi nodded and started driving.

Zane sat in the passenger seat, holding his phone, looking at the last message he had sent to Yanis.

There was not response from her.

Zane looked a bit disappointed. He typed a few words and hesitated when he was about to send it. In the end, he deleted all of them and put away his phone.

Neve, sitting in the back seat, saw everything.

Her hands on her laps tightened but she didn't change her expression.

There was only a short distance from the Lawrence's Manson to the Rhinestone Mansion, it took only about a quarter.

The car was parked in front of the Rhinestone Mansion, and Albi opened the door for Neve.

Zane did not get out of the car, but lowered the window and looked at Phoebe. "You stay here tonight."

Phoebe was stunned, "I didn't bring anything with me."

"Rachel will help you clean the guest room, and I'll have Albi to deliver your clothes to you."

Zane looked at Neve, "Have a good rest."

Albi closed the door, bowed at Neve, and got into the car.

Neve stood by the car and looked at Zane, asking, "Zane, aren't you coming up for a cup of coffee?"
