I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 148

Chapter 148 Yanis, Do You Still Want a Divorce?

Yanis leaned on the seat, looked at the front of the car, and said in a calm tone, "When I was taken to the hotel, the first person I suspected was your mother.

Do you know why?" When Yanis said this, she turned to him, and then looked back.

Zane didn't speak.

Yanis said, "Because your mother knew that I opened the door for Ivan at the M Country Hotel, if she didn't send someone to watch me, how could she know?

She wants us to divorce so you can marry Neve. But she could have told me. Playing tricks is not necessary."

Yanis paused for a few seconds. Then she added, "But I didn't expect Miss Bennett to be as impatient as your mother, to do such a thing.."

Zane listened, and wanted to say something, but didn't know what to say.

It wasn't Neve alone. Phoebe was also involved.

And although Lucia didn't do anything, she knew about the plan.

She pretended not to know it.

Zane's silence upset Yanis even more, making her feel cold.

After Yanis finished her speech, Zane didn't speak, nor did Yanis.

It was so quiet in the car that they could hear each other's breath.

After not knowing how long, Zane opened his mouth, "Yanis, do you still want a divorce?"

These words were like a bomb, suddenly exploding on the tip of Yanis' heart.

It took her a long while to come back to herself.

Many times, she wanted to cut off all links with him and leave him for good.

But now, when she heard such words from him, Yanis still felt heartache.

She had the same feeling when he proposed the divorce after Neve's return.

It turned out that no matter what happened or under what circumstances, Zane's words had such a great influence on her.

After a long silence, Yanis turned to look at him.

He focused his eyes on the front, without giving her the slightest look.

Yanis looked at his side face.

Yanis has always known that Zane is good-looking. She liked everything about him. That was why she had been so devoted to him.

Looking at his side face, she could still feel her heart race.

But it was not as violent as years back.

"Yes."

Yanis' voice was hoarse, which made the word sound more depressing when she murmured it.

When Zane heard Yanis' answer, he tightened his hands on the steering wheel.

After a long time, he responded, "I'll pick you up when you get better."

He didn't say much, nor make things clear.

But Yanis got what he meant.

She nodded slightly, "OK."

Neither of them spoke for the rest of the trip.

The car soon stopped at the door of Bonnie's studio.

Myles and Bonnie hadn't come back yet.

The door of the studio was open, there were only Bonnie's assistant and a few staff members.

Yanis didn't intend to speak to Zane again. She sat quietly in her seat, leaning against the window, staring blankly at somewhere outside the window.

She didn't move until Myles' car parked in front of the studio after quite a while.

She unbuckled her seat belt, her expression normal. She was neither angry nor disappointed.

She couldn't be calmer.

"Thank you for sending me back." After Yanis finished speaking, she opened the car door. Before she got out, she said, "And thank you for last night."

Then, Yanis got out of the car before Zane said anything, and closed the door.

Bonnie got out of the car and walked towards Yanis immediately, "Did that jerk bully you?"

Others may not see Yanis' emotions, but Bonnie did at a glance.

Yanis looked fine.

But Bonnie knows that when Yanis was unhappy, she looked calmer than usual.

Yanis shook her head slightly. "No."

"I need to talk to him!" Speaking of which, Bonnie turned around and was about to open Zane's car door.

Yanis reached out and grabbed Bonnie, "Bonnie, I'm tired, I want to go up and rest."

Yanis' words made Bonnie pause and turned to look at her.

"Bonnie," Yanis called her softly, almost pleading.

When Bonnie met Yanis's helpless and tired eyes, she agreed.

"Let's go in."

Bonnie supported Yanis. After taking a few steps, she seemed to think of something. She turned to look at Myles, who had just gotten out of the car, "Go back."

Her tone was slight. Myles looked at Bonnie and narrowed his eyes.

Yanis would have spoken for Myles in normal times.

But at this moment, Yanis was not in the mood.

Having known Bonnie for so many years, no one knew better than Yanis about Bonnie's temper.

It was a bad idea to argue with Bonnie or ignore her when she was angry.

So Myles stood by the car and didn't go any further. After Yanis and Bonnie entered the studio, he walked to Zane's car.

He knocked on the window.

"Messed it up?" After Zane rolled down the window was down, Myles asked him.

Zane looked at Myles but didn't answer his question. Instead, he said, "I owe you a favor for Neve's thing."

Myles put his arm casually on the car window and stared at Zane for a few seconds, "What makes you think I will do you this favor?"

Zane tapped lightly on the steering wheel, "I heard that you have a batch of goods stuck in your hand for a week. You need a buyer, don't you?"

Hearing Zane's words, Myles narrowed his eyebrows slightly, "When did you get involved in these shady things, Mr. Lawrence?"

"I'll help you with this and you will stay out of Neve's matter."

Myles indeed had a batch of goods that he wasn't able to sell due to the strict censorship recently. He was losing profit every day with the good in his hands.

He had an appointment with someone last night, wanting to solve this problem with money. But because of Bonnie's accident, he didn't make it to the appointment. And the other person got mad, refusing to talk to him again. Myles had been worried about this thing.

Zane's offer was a temptation to him.

But for Myles, Bonnie was more important no matter how much money he was going to lose.

So Myles did not respond to Zane's offer immediately.

The two were silent for a few seconds.

"If I disclose your goods, you will spend at least five years in prison. Do you think Bonnie will be waiting for you during this time?"
