I Become A CEO After Divorce novel Chapter 393

Chapter 393 Time Is a Sharp Blade

Mila nodded and replied, "Yes, I can drink a little."
Bonnie put down the goblet and suggested, "Except Yanis, the three of us can get hammered tonight."
Hearing the words, Mila glanced at Yanis and asked, "Why doesn't Mrs. Thompson drink?"
Yanis nodded, "I can drink a little, but if I drink too much, I will lose control of myself."
Mila smiled, "That's all right, call Mr. Lawrence to pick you up."
As soon as Mila said this, it became quiet in the room for a moment.
But it was only for a moment, Bonnie continued, "Yes, I have to call Myles in advance and ask him to come and pick me up as well."
"Ivan and I have to reserve substitute driving service in advance, otherwise we won't be able to go back ourselves," said Mila.
Bonnie said, "It's okay. Ivan, please invite Teddy to join us."
After listening to Bonnie's words, Ivan said in a low voice, "If Teddy knows that we didn't tell him when we had a gathering, he will get infurious with us."
"Call him now. He is your childhood friend. If you don't tell him to come, he will get annoyed," said Bonnie.
Ivan thought about it and called Teddy.
It was a coincidence that Teddy had finished his work and was about to find a place for dinner. After receiving the call from Ivan, he immediately agreed.
It was originally a gathering of four members, and then it became five.
The table was covered with dishes, and everyone was almost done with food and wine.
Yanis drank the least. She got drunk after a few goblets.
Bonnie and Mila drank a lot, one goblet after another.
Yanis sat quietly by, watching Mila drinking with Bonnie.
"Mila, you are luck to have Ivan," said Bonnie.
Mila nodded and toasted Bonnie, "Come celebrate that I have found a treasure."
"Cheers!"
She then drank up the champagne in the goblet.
Before she was completely drunk, Yanis took the phone from Bonnie and asked, "Shall I call Myles?"
"Okay, tell him to come with Zane and ask them to take us back home," said Bonnie.
Yanis hummed and called Myles first, asking him to come to Harborview Restaurant.
After that, she picked up her mobile phone and sent a message to Zane, asking him to pick her up.
"Ms. Thompson, cheers," said Mila.
Just as Yanis put down her phone, Mila greeted her with a goblet of champagne.
Yanis took it and said, "Congratulations to you and Ivan."
Mila leaned closer to Yanis and whispered, "Thank you."
Yanis stared at Mila after hearing what she said.
Mila said again, "Thank you for not choosing Ivan, otherwise I wouldn't have had this chance."
Yanis wanted to say something, but she didn't speak when the words came to her lips. She replied softly, "Ivan is a good person and you've made a good decision."
Mila smiled, "I hope so. I hope Ivan can forget you as soon as possible so that I can find a place in his heart."
Yanis toasted Mila, "Yes, you can do it."
Teddy looked at Mila drinking with Yanis and then went to Ivan. He said in a low voice, "Have you really decided to get engaged to Mila?"
Ivan twirled the goblet in his hand and asked, "Isn't it good? Sooner or later, we have to get married. Since my mother and the others think Mila is okay, then I have no objection."
Teddy frowned and said, "No, you... you have to think about it seriously. After all, your decision will have an impact on the rest of your life. It's very important to both you and Mila."
Ivan drank up the champagne in the goblet, then turned to look at Teddy. "So what?"
Teddy was a bit speechless by Ivan's words.
After a long silence, he said, "Can you let go of what happened between you and Yanis?"
"Time is a sharp knife that can cut off all the worries that have troubled us," said Ivan.
Listening to Ivan's words, Teddy patted him lightly on the shoulder, "I'm glad to hear what you said. You can treat Yanis like one of your best friends."
Ivan hummed and served champagne for Teddy. "Come on, let's celebrate my engagement."
"I can get all of you drunk," said Teddy.
"Don't worry, there is a hotel across the street and you can sleep over there," said Ivan.
Teddy picked up his goblet and said, "That's fine, come on, let's celebrate!"
As soon as Teddy joined in, it became a little chaotic in the room.
As Ivan's childhood friend, Teddy also knew Yanis and Bonnie well, but he seldom had a gathering like this before, and this was the first time for him.
When Teddy got drunk, he was almost out of control.
He drank to his heart's content.
When Myles and Zane came over, Yanis and Bonnie had already gotten drunk and were leaning on the table.
Only Teddy, Mila, and Ivan were still awake and clear-headed.
In fact, Mila also drank a lot.
She tried hard to stay awake.
Myles stepped forward and patted Ivan on the shoulder. "How much have you guys been drinking?"
After hearing Myles's voice, Ivan looked at him and said, "I didn't drink too much."
Saying that, Ivan pointed at Bonnie who was leaning on the table, and said, "Bonnie ... got drunk soon."
When Myles heard this, he laughed, "It looks like you are not drunk and you even know Bonnie is my girlfriend."
Ivan laughed and stared at Zane. Then he pointed to Yanis and said, "Mr. Lawrence, please... take Yanis away."
"I'll ask Albi to send you off," said Zane.
Ivan waved his hand and said, "No, thanks. I'll find a driver later."
"Let Albi send you off," Myles also replied.
Ivan replied, "Okay, thank you so much."
Myles stepped forward and hugged Bonnie from the chair and said, "Goodbye."
Ivan waved his hand and said, "Bye."
Zane walked to Yanis and whispered her name.
Yanis answered, and then slowly sat up straight. Seeing that it was Zane, she reached out her hand to him and said, "Are you here to pick me up?"
Zane hummed, bent over, and lifted her up, "Go home."
Yanis nodded and turned to look at Ivan, "Ivan!"
Ivan responded, "Here, Yanis."
"Congratulations," Yanis said.
Ivan nodded, "Thank you."
Yanis struggled for balancing herself and staggered to Ivan. "Ivan, get up."
Ivan was afraid that she would fall, so he stood up when Yanis was speaking, "Huh?"
Yanis hugged Ivan and said softly, "Ivan, go ahead, don't look back."
Yanis had said the same thing to Ivan before. But at that moment, when Ivan heard it again, he was overwhelmed by a complicated feeling. He responded softly, "Okay, I know."
Yanis let go of Ivan and said, "Bye... Please send them back... later."
"I'll ask Albi to take them back, don't worry," Zane stretched out his arms to embrace Yanis and comforted her softly.
