Su Yian was about to say something but Shi Nuan was ahead of him. “Ms. Su, nice to meet you!”

Su Yian replied warmly, “Ms. Shi, I haven’t seen you in such a long while! By the way, is this lady over here your sister?”

Shi Nuan chuckled a little. “Ms. Shen, this is Ms. Su, the owner of the Ruyi Tea House. Ms. Su, this is my coworker Shen Qianan. Yesterday was her first day at work! I’m bringing her around the city as she is still unfamiliar with a lot of places here.”

Shi Nuan then queried, “Is there room for us?”

“Of course, there is! Ms. Shi and Ms. Shen, please follow me!” Su Yian personally led the two women to a table. On their way there, Su Yian commented, “You guys are two peas in a pod! If I didn’t know you, I might have thought that Ms. Shen is your sister!”

As the two ladies were about to enter the room, Su Yian tugged on Shi Nuan’s hand. “Ms. Shi, we have a new batch of tea leaves. Would you like to have a look at them? Since your friend is here, why don’t you try out the latest tea we have with her?”

“That sounds good!” Shi Nuan nodded with anticipation. “Ms. Shen, excuse me for a second.”

“No problem!” Shen Qianan sat down and placed her handbag next to her. She was also glad that she had some time alone as she needed to think of a way to deal with Shi Nuan. Until now, it seemed like no matter what Shen Qianan did, Shi Nuan was completely unaffected. Moreover, Shi Nuan was always able to turn the tide right away, which made Shen Qianan uneasy.

“I know what you mean. Of course, I’ve thought of that before, but Yan wants me to trust him.”

“Then, what about yourself?” Su Yian could feel that Shi Nuan was not voicing out her mind. “You really don’t feel like there’s something fishy going on?”

“How is it possible for me to not overthink?” Shi Nuan sighed. “But what can I do? I am already engaged to Yan. If Yan really married me because of Shen Qianan, then now that Shen Qianan is back, he can very well divorce me and get back with her. However, he did not do so!”

The fact that Fu Chengyan didn’t leave Shi Nuan for Shen Qianan was proof that he had married Shi Nuan for who she was herself. Shi Nuan had confidence in her husband, but not so much in the people from the Fu family.

“Okay, let’s say Fu Chengyan did marry you for who you are, how are you so sure that the Fu family is not up to something?” Su Yian was quite smart. She could immediately point out the issue at hand. After all, she was a scholar who had won many scholarships before. “Also, why is Shen Qianan working at Shengyuan? Did the Fu family arrange for it?”

Shi Nuan nodded with a gulp. Su Yian sneered, “Even a good-natured person like me is getting furious. I don’t understand how you can be so courteous that you even brought her here.”

Shi Nuan smiled at her. “I’m so glad to have a friend who would stick up for me like you.” She then shook her head. “It’s not that I can bear with her. It’s just that if I get angry, then my enemies would have their way!”

Su Yian shook her head, smiling. Meanwhile, the employees at the teahouse brought the new tea to Su Yian. She passed the tea to Shi Nuan and said, “Why are you so nice to her then?”

“I want to know more about her.” Shi Nuan was not dumb. “She was the one who asked me out. If I didn’t agree to come with her, then doesn’t that make me petty? Also, I’m Yan’s wife. Why should I be scared of her?”

“That’s my girl!” Su Yian patted Shi Nuan on her shoulder. “Alright, don’t leave your love rival alone for too long!”

Shi Nuan brought the tea leaves back to the private lounge. Upon entering the room, she could see Shen Qianan brewing tea in an elegant manner. It was obvious that tea-brewing was something she learned growing up, which spoke volumes of how sophisticated her background was.

Shen Qianan realized Shi Nuan was in the room and beckoned her to sit down. “Ms. Shi, come and have a taste of my tea! It’s the one Yan likes the most!”

Shi Nuan smiled faintly. “Is that so? Let me have a try!”

Shi Nuan held the small teacup Shen Qianan passed to her and took a whiff of the aromatic tea. “Ms. Shen, you are so good at brewing tea! This smells amazing!”

“Thank you! Since young, my parents have taught me how to brew tea. They even had teachers over to instruct me on tea-brewing. However, I am only an amateur though.”

“Oh really?” Shi Nuan took a sip of the tea and had to admit that Shen Qianan was quite proficient in tea-brewing. In fact, the tea she made surpassed that of an amateur’s. “It doesn’t matter if you are not a professional. My grandpa always said that as long as we strive to do better, it is enough.”

Shen Qianan’s face stiffened. “You’re talking about your maternal grandfather?”

Shi Nuan nodded. “Yeah. My grandpa is a professor from Jing University. He was Yan’s lecturer back then. Since Ms. Shen knows Yan well, you must know my grandpa too!”

Shen Qianan’s face was pale. “I-I don’t know your grandpa.”

“Really? Oh, Yan used to skip grades when he was studying. When he was at university, I think the two of us were still in elementary school.”
