Ice and Fire novel Chapter 63

Jackson felt that he couldn't wait any longer. He still couldn't find his wife, and an indescribable feeling started to overwhelm him. He felt that Cherry was so close to his heart, but yet so far.

Suddenly, Jackson's phone rang. He answered it, and said, "Speak!"

"Sir, I just found Mrs. Shen; she's in a flat, " said the soldier on the other side of the line.

"Location, " ordered Jackson.

Jackson was amazed when he heard the address. Didn't Emily live there? He had gone there before.

At that moment, Jackson thought that all this time he had been stupid. He had thought of everyone who Cherry would have gone to, but had forgotten all about her best friend, Emily, the only one that she could rely on anytime that she ever needed.

Jackson calmed down. As long as Cherry was at Emily's house, she was safe. Everything was fine.

He felt relieved, and decided to go there immediately.

Jackson started the car's engine and then drove to Emily's flat.

Meanwhile, Jean arrived at Emily's flat, and hatred sparkled in her eyes. She would let Cherry know what real jealousy felt like.

Jean walked to the door and pressed her finger on the doorbell.

Cherry, who was sitting in the living room, was startled when she heard the doorbell. Emily wasn't at home, and she wondered who it could be.

She stood up from the sofa and decided to open the door.

After she unlocked it, Cherry saw Jean arrogantly standing in front of her.

"You? Why are you here?" asked Cherry, surprised by Jean's unexpected appearance. She had thought that someone would eventually find out where she was, but she had never thought that that person would be Jean.

"So you're really hiding here. This is unexpected, " said Jean. She believed that she had everything in control.

Cherry tried to hide all her emotion, and ask, "Jean, what on earth do you want to do?"

Jean didn't answer Cherry's question, and instead pushed Cherry away and walked inside the flat. She looked around, and asked, "Cherry Shen, it was good that you chose to hide here. No one can find you, not even Jackson."

"Jean Shen, this isn't my house, so please leave, " immediately replied Cherry. She clearly didn't want her sister there, in her friend's home.

But Jean stared at Cherry with contempt, and said, "I clearly aren't welcomed here, am I, Cherry?"

After she said this, she sat on Emily's sofa.

Cherry got angry when she realized that Jean didn't want to leave, and she walked towards her, and grimly said, "Jean Shen, get out of here, now! This isn't my house!"

Jean also became irritated because of Cherry's grim tone. She stood up, and walked towards her. She glared at Cherry, and said, "Why are you treating me like this? How have I offended?"

Cherry ignored Jean's distress, and said, "Jean, I treat you as I usually do. I'm telling you again, get out of here, this isn't my house!"

When she saw that her sister didn't change her attitude, Jean pushed Cherry, and said, "Who do you think you are? How can you treat me like this? Is it because I seduced your John?"

The name John reminded Cherry of her past.

Cherry became emotional, and she stared at Jean, and said, "Jean Shen, you have always been against me since we were little kids. Do you think you'll ever win?"

"Of course I'll win. Why shouldn't I? I have married John, and I have become a governor's wife. I've also thrown you out of the Shen family. Have I won? What do you think?" asked Jean. She then walked towards Cherry, step by step.

Cherry walked back towards the balcony behind her to get away from Jean.

"Do you think that you won just because you married John? It seems to me that he doesn't love you, or otherwise, why would he have an affair with another woman?"

"Cherry Shen, are you mocking me?" asked Jean in a threatening manner. She kept advancing towards Cherry.

Cherry was slowly forced on the balcony, and she stopped when she reached its rail.

However, she wasn't frightened. She said, "Jean Shen, do you really believe that you can own everything? Do you even realize how poor you are? No one loves you, and your mother just likes to bully me with you. You like rich men, but they don't like you, and John doesn't like you. He doesn't love you at all, and I think he actually despises you!"

"Cherry Shen!" suddenly shouted at Jean. She didn't expect that Cherry would be so brutal with her.

Jean stared at her, and said, "Even if John doesn't love me, I'm still happy that I robbed him from you. How about that? That was my goal."

Cherry then slightly smiled, and said, "Well, Jean Shen, that's some special goal!"

But then Jean couldn't control herself when she saw Cherry's mocking smile.
