Ice and Fire novel Chapter 165

Jackson then suddenly sat up and said to Cherry, "Change your clothes and let's go out and have dinner."

"Okay, " replied Cherry. She nodded, and then went to change into her evening clothes.

After Cherry changed, the couple walked to the dining hall in the hotel together where they found Derek and Selina. When they saw Jackson and Cherry coming, Derek and Selina stood up from their seats and walked towards them.

Selina went straight to Cherry. She held her arm, and said, "Cherry, let's go out and have dinner in a restaurant nearby! I heard that they serve some delicious food."

"Okay, " answered Cherry with a smile on her lips.

Seeing that they got along so well with each other, Jackson and Derek just smiled and said nothing.

Derek looked at Selina, and said, "What you need to do is to take good care of your sister. If she's happy, then there's no need to be concerned about Jackson."

Hearing this, Selina looked at Jackson, and thought, 'My brother is right, Cherry is everything to him, and all the others don't matter that much.'

Selina turned to Jackson, and said, "Brother, is that right?"

Jackson said nothing and just smiled.

She understood what he meant with the smile.

Selina had already rented two cars. Jackson and Cherry took one and drove to the restaurant, while Derek and Selina drove the other, following them from behind.

They arrived at the restaurant and enjoyed the delicious food it had to offer them. Cherry was very happy, because she finally had the chance to relax.

When Selina noticed that Cherry was in a good mood, she quipped, "My dear sister-in-law, you never looked more happier!"

Selina stared at Cherry and made her immediately blush. Cherry lowered her head, and answered her, "No, you're mistaken...it's because the food is so delicious."

"Really?" Selina didn't believe her, and asked, "Are you sure?"

When they heard Selina's question, Jackson and Derek also became interested in Cherry's answer.

Cherry felt embarrassed when she saw the three people staring at her. She thought about it for a moment, and then answered, "I'm happy because I'm here with you guys."

"Is that so?" asked Selina. She then continued, "I think you're happy because you're with Jackson."

Then, both Selina and Derek looked at the couple and smiled.

"Selina!" Cherry signalled to her boss not to say anything more embarrassing.

Jackson seemed to have heard nothing, and he continued to eat his dinner without commenting on even one of their words.

After dinner, Derek and Selina said that they had to meet with some friends, and that they won't be accompanying Jackson and Cherry for the rest of the evening.

The couple left them go on their way. As they left, Jackson asked Cherry, "Where do you want to go?"

"Would you like to go back to the hotel?" asked Cherry, The city wasn't familiar to her in any way, so she had no idea where to go.

However, Jackson had no plans to go back to the hotel. He said, "Do you want to go to the beach? I know a good one here."

Cherry was suddenly curious about it, and asked Jackson, "How do you know a beach here?"

For a moment, Jackson didn't know how to answer her question, but then immediately explained, "Eh... from the Internet!"

Cherry nodded her head without thinking too much about it.

Jackson then drove Cherry to the beach. Sitting on the warm sand, and enjoying the soft wind, Cherry felt very relaxed.

Jackson sat next to Cherry and gazed at the sea in silence.

Unexpectedly, Cherry put her head on Jackson's arm and gently leaned on him.

"Jackson..." said Cherry.

"Huh? I'm here, " answered Jackson promptly.

"Do you want to have a child?" Cherry finally asked the magic question, because she wanted to let Jackson know about Joe and to gradually accept him.

"Of course, " said Jackson. Holding Cherry in his arms, he continued, "Baby, our Grandpa has been hoping ever since our wedding day to have our own child."

"Do you like children?" asked Cherry. She knew that ever since they married Andrew had wanted a grandchild, and had been urging Jackson to make one, but because she had ran away and hadn't seen him yet since she had returned, she knew very little about Andrew's current ideas. At that moment on the beach, she only wanted to know Jackson's thoughts.

"Yes, " said Jackson. He nodded, and continued, "I truly want to have a child of our own, and when we do, you won't imagine how much I will love and care for him!"

As she snuggled up in Jackson's arms, Cherry suddenly fell into silence.

Jackson thought for a moment, and then asked, "Why are you asking me this?"

Cherry didn't answer his question. Instead, she continued, "Jackson, if we ever have a child, would you like to call him Joe? I like that name. Joe..."

"Joe?" Jackson was a little surprised by her questions. He thought about it for a moment, and considered that as long as Cherry liked it, he liked. He also thought that the name "Joe" was a nice name.

Jackson said, "The name is fine. Joe, Joe..."

"Jackson, " started Cherry again.

Jackson listened to her with patience. "Yes?"

"If I told you that..." but before Cherry could finish her words, Jackson's mobile phone rang, and suddenly interrupted their conversation.

"Wait a minute, " said Jackson. When he took out his phone, he saw that Sally was calling him.

Cherry also saw who was calling him.

After he thought for a moment, instead of going away from Cherry and hiding it from her, he decided to answer the call in her presence.

Jackson answered, "Hello, Sally."

"Jackson, where are you?" asked Sally cheerfully.

He briefly answered, "Outside."

"Outside?" Sally was a little surprised, and then asked, "Who are you with?"

Jackson answered without hesitation, "My wife." He was together with Cherry, and nobody could deny that.

"Cherry?" Sally's voice then changed.

"What's wrong? Is there anything important that you want to talk with me?" asked Jackson with impatience in his voice.

"Jackson, why are you out with her?" asked Sally morosely. Why could Jackson go out with Cherry but not with her? She had been at Jackson's side for more than five years, but Jackson had never went out with her, not even once.

"She's my wife, isn't it normal for us to go out together? Why do you think that you can ask me such a question?" Obviously, Jackson was angry, and he growled, "I'm asking you again: is there something important that you want to talk to me, or not? Be quick, or I'll hang up!"

"Wait a minute!" quickly said Sally, because she didn't want Jackson to hang up.

Jackson then listened to her without answering.

Sally knew that Jackson hadn't hung up. After she thought for a while, she said, "Jackson, I'll wait for you for three days. You have to come back in three days because I want to talk something urgent with you about Stephen."

When Cherry overheard Sally's words she started shaking. The unsolved doubt that she had on her mind was becoming harder and harder to bear.

Jackson obviously noticed Cherry's reaction, but said nothing.
