Ice and Fire novel Chapter 340

Cherry knew that she couldn't hide her feelings from Andrew. It was easy to see that there was something wrong from her unusual behavior, and Andrew could tell it clearly without any doubt.

"Grandpa, I just felt distressed thinking that I'm unable to go back to the JS Group to work again, because I don't want to give up on my career. Would you help me to persuade Jackson to change his mind, please? I'm very eager to go back to the JS Group to handle affairs again." Cherry looked earnestly at Andrew and pleaded him to help her.

Andrew sighed after he thought for a while, and said, "Cherry, I know that you have devoted your time and energy to your work, and I also know that you love it. Work has become an important part of your daily life."

Cherry nodded immediately to show that she couldn't agree more with Andrew's words.

Andrew then continued to say, "But Cherry, you should know that in the Chu Family, money is the last thing that you need to be concerned about. If you go back to work, you'll have to wake up early at sunrise, and come back home at dust. What's more, there are so many difficult tasks you need to handle, and Jackson doesn't want you to be that stressed. He wants you to live a relaxed and happy life. Can you understand him?"

Andrew knew too well that Cherry had a strong character aligned with a native dogged persistence. He thought to himself, 'She must feel upset because she just lost her job. It's no wonder that she behaves like this, but now that Jackson has finally made up his mind to keep her away from Mond, I can only support him. I believe in his decision, and I know that he has his reasons for it. He must have his own plan.'

Cherry nodded, and as she lowered her head, said, "Grandpa, I can understand him, and I'll try my best to get used to my current status."

Andrew was satisfied with Cherry's words. He smiled at her, and said, "Cherry, if you're bored at home, you can either stay here with me, or go to the study and read a book or two. You can do whatever you feel like doing, and you can also go and visit our neighbors here. You've moved for a long time already, but you haven't even met any of the other women at your age here at the residential compound. Why not have a chat with them? If you get along with them, you'll soon have some new friends, and you won't feel bored anymore. What do you say?"

Andrew tried his best to help Cherry with some options to ease up on herself. He wanted her to be happy and feel relaxed at home.

"Well, thank you Grandpa, I will try to find something interesting to do by myself, " said Cherry. She then looked up at Andrew, and said, "I'm sorry that I'm not in the best of moods right now."

Andrew then waved his hands and kindly said to her, "You don't need to apologize to me, I can understand how you feel."

As soon as Andrew finished his words, he heard the sound of the front door opening. Both Andrew and Cherry turned around to look who it was, and then they saw Jackson coming in through it.

"Jackson!" cheerfully cried Cherry, as she quickly walked up to him.

Jackson also strode towards her too. After he held her in his arms for a few moments, he went to Andrew.

"Afternoon, Grandpa! I'm back home, " said Jackson.

"Why are you back home so early today?" asked Andrew, wearing a kind and gentle smile on his face.

"I came to get Cherry, so we can go and pick up Joe from school together, " replied Jackson.

Andrew smiled at him and nodded. He then said, "Take Cherry out for a walk. She must be be bored sick, because she's stayed at home for the whole day."

"Yes, Grandpa, " said Jackson. He dotingly looked at Cherry, and continued to say, "I was afraid that you might be feeling bored and lonely at home, so I came back here as fast as I could."

"Well, it's good that you came back home so early, because I already started to miss you. Let's go and pick up Joe from school together now, " said Cherry, as she happily snuggled in Jackson's arms.

"Yes, darling." Jackson then stroked Cherry's hair in a soft and tender manner, showing his care and attention to her.

Andrew smiled, and he was very happy to see the lovely scene unfolding in front of him.

"Let's go upstairs and change our clothes first; then, we'll go and pick up Joe, " said Cherry.

"Okay, " said Jackson as he nodded. He looked at the woman in his arms with love and tenderness reflected in his eyes, and he felt that he couldn't get more of her.

Cherry then looked at Andrew, and politely said, "Grandpa, we're going to change and then go to pick up Joe from school."

"Alright, alright, just go already, " said Andrew, very delighted of the couple in front of him.

"Okay."

As soon as Cherry and Jackson walked into the bedroom, Jackson pulled Cherry into his arms, and while he dotingly looked at her, he asked, "What did you talk to Grandpa in the living room just now before I arrived?"

"That's none of your business! Why do I have to tell you?" said Cherry in a naughty manner. She then continued, "I told Grandpa that you treat me badly, because you won't allow me to go to work."

"Of course, I won't let you go out to work any longer. So what about that? Be a nice obedient girl at home and accompany me whenever I go, " said Jackson, in an overbearing manner. He wanted to protect her and let her live a happy, carefree life.

"But I still feel bored sometimes, " said Cherry, and with these words, she suddenly clung around Jackson's neck with her arms.

"Baby, " said Jackson dotingly, "I'll come back home to stay with you as long as I'm not fully occupied, or I'll try and spare some more time to travel with you in the future. Is that okay?"

Cherry pretended to think over his proposal, and then cheerfully said, "Okay, I can accept that."

"Shouldn't you be saying that it's great?" said Jackson, wondering when had the woman in his arms become so naughty.

"It isn't bad, " replied Cherry, as she looked at her wristwatch. She then said, "Hurry up and change your clothes. We'll be late, and I don't want to make Joe wait for us for too long."
