Ice and Fire novel Chapter 357

Jackson was somewhat comforted by Cherry's words and he thought, 'Joe is my son and the Chu Family's descendant and I love him. But when he had Cherry's full attention, I couldn't control my emotions. I'm jealous of the little guy.'

"Jackson come on, " said Cherry with a smile on her face. "You need to hurry up. You can't keep your friends waiting."

"Okay, but you and Joe need to be careful when you are out. Don't hesitate to call me if you need need." with that said, Jackson gave Cherry a kiss on her forehead.

"Alright."

Cherry walked to the door with Jackson and watched as he drove away. Afterwards, she and Joe left for the amusement park.

There were a lot of families attending, and children happily playing at the amusement park when they got there. Cherry and Joe were having a good time together as they rode the roller coaster, ferris wheel, free fall and excitedly played the fun games one by one.

"Mommy, this is amazing, we're flying!" Joe shouted cheerfully.

Cherry smiled lovingly at her son and said, "Yes, yes we are. Are you having a fun day?"

"Oh mom! yes! I couldn't be happier, " Joe giggled happily as he told her. He saw something, his eyes grew large, and his mouth formed an 'O' as he stared, pointing and then excitedly yelling, "Mommy, I want to play THAT game too!"

Joe ran off towards the game as he exclaimed.

"Joe, wait for me! Slow down! Don't rush off!" Cherry shouted as she ran to catch up with her son at the next game.

Mond was watching nearby as Cherry chased a giggling, happy Joe through the crowds. When Mond saw Cherry was aglow and smiling too, he hesitated, not wanting to interrupt. Joe was the son of Jackson and Cherry was his wife. He should hate them both, but, Mond couldn't bring himself to destroy the happy scene unfolding in front of him.

All the sudden, a mother and son walked past Mond.

"Mommy, why didn't Daddy come with us? Why is he always too busy?" Mond heard the boy asking his mother as they walked by.

"Dear, your Dad works hard to earn money supporting us. One day, when you grow up, you'll understand, " the mother gently explained to her son.

"Okay..."

Hearing the mother and son talking made Mond wonder why Jackson wasn't there with them, and what he was doing as Cherry and Joe were playing alone. 'Is Jackson busy? Or could it be Jackson and Cherry don't get along well. I know Jackson hit Cherry and got angry at her. Cherry doesn't seem to live the good life of a rich and powerful family, ' thought Mond.

Mond gave Cherry and Joe one more lingering look before he stormed off.

Mond got home later that afternoon. He sat on the sofa in the living room bored, and decided to call Sally. He wanted to find out what she was doing and discuss the details for the next step of the plan with her.

However, he was surprised when Sally answered and hung the phone up.

In a fit of anger he threw the phone aside, 'Sally, how dare you hang up on me? Are you crazy? You went too far!' he thought.

A few minutes later, Mond got up and was about to go to the study upstairs, when his cell rang. Mond looked at the phone and saw Sally's name on the screen, so he answered.

"Hello, " said Mond in a calm manner.

"I'm sorry I hung up, right now isn't really convenient for me, " Sally spoke in a very low voice, "What do you need? Is everything okay?"

"Where are you?" asked Mond impatiently. He noticed how low Sally's voice was and how quiet her surroundings were. His curiosity was piqued and he wanted to know where she was, what she was doing and why she was talking in such a low tone.

"I'm at a cafe, " whispered Sally, "with Jackson."

"Jackson?" Sally's revelation shocked Mond and he wondered, 'Cherry is at the amusement park with Joe, while Jackson is at a cafe on a date with Sally. What is going on here?'

"Yes. It was difficult to get the nerve up to ask him out and this opportunity may never come again. I can't just mess it up, " Cherry said happily and then she eagerly informed him, "Mond, I can't talk now. I will come see you at the villa tonight. If there is something to discuss, we can do it then. I have to hang up now though."

When Sally was about to hang up the phone, Mond asked her, "Which café are you at?"

"Island Coffee, " Sally said quickly and hung up.

Mond hung up the phone at the same time.

Mond sat back on the sofa again, deep in thought by how really confusing things were. What the hell was going on? Mond didn't know what Sally was up to, or what she did to get Jackson to meet with her, but, he was sure Cherry and Joe were in the dark about Jackson's date with Sally right now.

Mond grinned evilly as he thought how this could benefit him.

Then he picked his phone up and dialed Cherry's number.

Cherry and Joe were leaving a fast food restaurant. Joe was enjoying the afternoon sun and said to his mom, "Mommy, I had a super awesome time today! Is it time to go home now?"

"Are you super tired too?" Cherry asked in a doting manner. She looked down at her son smiling happily.

"Yeah, I'm a little tired. I wanna go home and get some sleep." Joe said, finishing his statement with a big yawn.

"Okay, then let's get you home." Cherry held Joe's hand as they walked to the car. As they headed to the parking lot, her cell rang.

Cherry stopped.

"Mommy, someone's calling you." Joe chimed in when he heard his mommy's phone ringing.

"Wait a moment, Joe. Give me a minute to see who's calling, " Cherry told him as she dug through her purse to get her phone.

"Okay, Mommy, " replied Joe obediently.
