Ice and Fire novel Chapter 371

"Jackson, don't ever anger me again! You should always tell me if you have something to do, because you can never hide the truth from me, " commanded Cherry.

"Okay, okay, you call the shots at home and I will listen to every word you say every day, " quickly said Jackson, as he embraced Cherry even more tightly in his arms. Only when Cherry's scent was around him could he set his mind at ease and feel at peace.

When she felt how tight Jackson was holding her, Cherry patted on his back. "You were looking for the shirt earlier. Weren't you in a hurry to go out?"

'Jackson was looking for his clothes earlier, which means that he'll leave the house, but now he won't let me go. Does he still have time for his business outside?' wondered Cherry.

"There's no hurry, baby. You're more important than anything I have to do, " answered Jackson, as he put his head on Cherry's shoulder.

Cherry felt very sweet and delighted in her heart. Even though Jackson's beautiful words weren't completely sincere, she was still happy nevertheless, because at least they proved to her that she had a special place in his heart.

After some time passed, Cherry said, "Come on, it's already been too long. Go and change your clothes and go quickly. You don't want to be late."

When he heard Cherry's words, Jackson considered everything for a moment and then released Cherry from his arms. He softly touched her face with his hand, and said, "Why do I always feel so reluctant to leave you?"

"I won't ran away, so why are you so reluctant? Just come home early after you finish your business. I'll be waiting for you right here at home, " said Cherry smiling.

"Alright, wait for me, I'll be back soon, " replied Jackson with a big smile painted all over his face. He continued to say, "Cherry, it's you who brings the warmth to our home."

"Come on, hurry up already and change your clothes, " urged Cherry.

Jackson then got dressed and Cherry eventually fastened the buttons for him as she usually did. After she was sure that Jackson's clothes were perfectly neat, Cherry said, "Okay, you can go now. Be careful on the road."

"Sure, " replied Jackson, and before Cherry could reply to him, Jackson pressed his lips onto hers for several seconds in a passionate kiss.

Cherry stood frozen with her mind blank, speechless with astonishment.

Jackson then slightly grinned, and said, "I'm leaving now."

He then turned around and left.

After Cherry heard his footsteps on the corridor, she couldn't help but shudder, because she knew that Jackson had left.

She went to the bed and sat down on it, recalling the affectionate moment that had just happened.

Cherry believed that if every day was as happy as the earlier moment was, then she would no longer feel worried about anything. She remembered that she had dreamed last night, and that she had seen a woman whose face had been covered with a veil. The woman had claimed that Cherry had stolen the man that she had loved the most in the world, and had tried to kill Cherry with the knife that she was holding in one of her hands. Cherry had her eyes fixed on Jackson who was standing somewhere nearby, and in her dream she was unwilling to leave him because she loved him too. She would have preferred to let the woman stab her in the stomach with the knife, because she didn't want to be separated from Jackson. Lowering her head, Cherry saw the knife pierce into her body, but before she could raise her head and see Jackson's expression more clearly, she had woken up. Cherry wanted the dream to continue, because she wanted to take one more look at Jackson's face. She would have felt contented if she would have seen his worried expression. As long as she was with Jackson, she would have no regret in life.

Mond drove to the residential compound. When the guard saw Mond's luxurious car, he didn't stop him, because he thought that he had to be a relative of someone in there. It wasn't until Mond stopped his car in front of the Chu Family's house that the guard finally set his mind at ease. 'That man must be a friend of the Chu Family, because most people who have a good relationship with the Chu family are also wealthy and respectable. There should be no problem, ' thought the guard.

Sitting in the car, Mond gazed at the door of the Chu Family in front of him, and thought that the moment that he stepped through it, he would be back in the Chu Family. He could also clearly remember the house. There was a big living room, a dining room, and a small bedroom for housekeepers on the first floor, while the main bedrooms and the study were on the second floor. He still remembered the exact location of the bedrooms of Andrew and Jackson, as well as the closed room which no one was allowed to go in.

Mond had never expect that he had kept all of these things in his mind for such a long time. So many years ago, he had once stood in front of Jackson's room and had imagined how happy he would be if he could live in that house. But this was just his imagination and how could it come true?

As for the closed room, Mond didn't know if Cherry had stepped in it as Jackson's wife, but according to his memory, Mond was sure that he had never entered it, because Jackson protected it too well when they was small boys. Jackson didn't allow any people to enter the room and contaminate it in some way, because that room was his parents' room before they died.

Mond finally worked up the nerve to open the car's door and get out of it.
