An island far removed from the mainland in East Sea was a rehabilitation island among thirty such islands, all belonging to Quincy’s family. The third battalion of East Region had sent Quincy and Jane to this island to recuperate.

Their injuries were rather severe. Quincy had suffered a lot after being hit with two bullets, while Jane was able to survive, but due to a lack of oxygen when she had been submerged in the water for too long, her brain had suffered great damage, and she was in a coma at the moment.

The moment they arrived at the island, surgeries were carried out on them by the best doctors available on the island.

It had been a week since they were staying here.

Jane was still in a coma while Quincy had been given permission by the doctor to get off bed and move around.

Quincy immediately went to Jane’s ward to take a look at her.

After receiving the news from Jane’s doctor that her situation was stable and she would awaken within the next few days, Quincy finally felt a sense of relief. He watched Jane’s face which was regaining colors as the days went by and flashed a warm smile on his face.

He had to use a walking stick to get by around the ward. He was beyond bored after lying in bed for more than a week. He wanted to take a stroll around the island to blow off some steam.

The moment Quincy left the ward, two nurses responsible for Jane’s wellbeing were carrying a tray as they stood in front of Jane’s ward. Looking at Quincy’s back, one of the nurses muttered, “Who is that man who has left the ward just now? Mya, I have said this before, we should take turns to cover our shifts. If someone were to inflict harm on Jane while we’re gone, we can’t bear the consequences.”

As she said that, both nurses barged into Jane’s ward nervously. They only heaved a sigh of relief after seeing that there was nothing wrong with Jane.

“I have told you that the security on this island is top-class, and besides, Jane is our master’s girlfriend. Only someone who has major guts would dare to touch her in the first place. Even so, that person would be courting death.” Mya answered playfully.

“You looked scared as hell too just now!” The other nurse named Emelia threw a glance at Mya before turning her gaze onto Jane, “The master’s girlfriend is really pretty, but I wonder about her personality. She looks like the quiet type.”

“Don’t you have such delusions. She’s the master’s girlfriend after all, how can she be the quiet type? It’s not like you never see the other master’s girlfriend, all of them are so arrogant that they can’t even see us, the ordinary people.” Mya replied disapprovingly, “You can just take a look at the eighth master’s girlfriends, and every one of them is arrogant and snooty. The two nurses were having a good time with that topic.

At that moment, Jane’s eyelids fluttered as she slowly opened her eyes.

Jane slowly rolled her eyeballs as she surveyed her surroundings. Bright walls, large floor-to-ceiling windows, clean tables, and some flowers and fruits on top of it…

Where was she?

She had been in a coma for a week, so she still felt a little groggy. She couldn’t recall her current whereabouts at all.

The two nurses were delighted to see that Jane had awakened. They were smiling brightly at her.

When Jane saw those nurses, she suddenly realized with a shock that this was a hospital. She had been in a hospital once, and she knew that staying in a hospital would cost a lot. “You have not recovered from your injuries yet, so you can’t leave the hospital now.” Mya answered seriously.

Shouldn’t the hospital require me to pay first before treating me? I must have been staying here for many days. The two nurses were stunned after hearing what Jane had said.

“Miss Jane, may I know which family do you hail from?” Mya asked Jane while Emelia was watching her with interest.

“Just call me Jane.” Jane replied with a faint smile, “I don’t hail from any affluent family, I am just a girl from a village in the Northeast in China.”

The two nurses were really astounded by her words. Most of the other girls brought by other masters were all from affluent families. Or else, they were at least models.

The nurses had a conversation with Jane and found that Jane was not arrogant at all. She treated them like they were her friends, which gave them a good impression of her.

They made sure Jane was well-rested in bed before carrying the tray out of the ward.

“Hey, tell me, if the master has his eyes on someone like Jane, does that mean we also stand a chance?” Mya chuckled while asking Emelia.

“You might be right. From Jane’s demeanour, I can sense that the master must be someone easygoing and has an outward disposition. As they were still bantering, they brushed past Quincy who were returning from a stroll.

“You’re right.” After their chat, the two nurses disappeared into the distance while holding on to their admiration for their master.

Quincy helped himself to walk with a walking stick around the island. He had been here when he was a child, so revisiting this place at that moment brought back some fond memories.

“Master.” A middle-aged man saw Quincy and immediately approached him. He lowered his head in front of Quincy while saying, “Allow me, Korbin, the owner of the 13th rehabilitation island also known as Spring Island to greet you, master. I hope a speedy recovery for you.”

“Korbin, you don’t have to be so polite.” Quincy was happy to see Korbin, who was a far off relative of his family. He was not in the same league as Quincy’s family, so he and his family could only take care of some small businesses owned by the family.

“Sorry for troubling you for my stay here on this island.” Quincy was very grateful towards Korbin. In the past few days when he was recuperating on this island, Korbin had been taking care of him well.

“I’ll order someone to prepare a bath for you, so that you will be ready to meet the head of the family.” Korbin added respectfully. Quincy was still dressed in his previous clothing at that moment. When he had arrived a week ago, Korbin had prepared fresh clothes for him, but Quincy wouldn’t want to wear it. According to him, he was more at ease wearing his own clothes.

Quincy followed the source of the sound as he passed by several rows of coconut trees before a beach opened up in front of his eyes. He stopped momentarily as his gaze lost its focus.

There were more than ten beautiful girls wearing revealing bikinis while playing a game of beach volleyball. They had amazing figures as well as beautiful features. They were not especially good at playing volleyball but it didn’t matter since they were just having a fun time together.

One of the pretty girls was receiving a pass as she knelt down onto the sand and her whole body collapsed to the sand.

After that, she spat out some sand while getting up, leaving behind two bowl-like shapes of depression in the sand.
