When Quincy went back to campus, it was just a little after 11:30, so he called Jane, and then went to have lunch together in the canteen.

Quincy ordered some tofu with vegetables, one fried eggs with tomato, and one fried potatoes with meat, and two bowls of rice.

“That’s too much.” Jane pressed her lips together, and stared at Quincy in disbelief.

“No problem, we can finish this.” Quincy laughed, he was a little foolish when staring at Jane. She has been studying in the library these past days, and today she had her hair braided into two braids which were laying on both sides of her shoulders. They made her light skin tone look even prettier, like a innocent and pure woman.

“Jane, you are so pretty today.” Quincy said.

Jane was startled, she lowered her head shyly and giggled, then she looked up again, still a smile on her face, and looked at Quincy who was still staring at her stupidly, then she said, “You are very gilded tongue.”

“No, I mean it.” Quincy said in all seriousness.

Jane’s little heart skipped a beat, she lightly knocked on Quincy’s head, and said, “Let’s eat.”

“Okay.” Quincy took his bowl of rice, and used his chopsticks to shovel it into his mouth while still staring at Jane.

It was his happiness to just look at her quietly.

“What’s up with you?” Jane actually looked very happy, but suddenly her face expression changed, and she stopped eating. Her eyes showed sudden sadness, so he asked her.

“I miss my mother.” Jane looked up, her eyes had a little joy in them, “My family is from a little village up in Northeast, and since my childhood it has just been me and my mom. Now that I am here studying, she is all alone. Eating all this delicious food, I am wondering what she is having for lunch at home...”

Jane’s eyes were smiling, but she suddenly started crying, it looked like ice crystals melting, so moving.

Quincy sat beside Jane, and wrapped his arms around her shoulder, allowing her to lean against him.

“I really miss her so much...” Jane couldn’t hold back her tears anymore, and cried heartbreakingly. Her cries felt like little arrows that landed on Quincy’s heart.

“Don’t cry, if you miss her so much, I am gonna arrange for you to see her, within the next two days.” Quincy was comforting Jane, while planning a trip to visit her mother in his head.

“Oh, Jane, you are back?” A couple approached their table while holding their lunch tray, they were Jane’s fellow villager, Anne and Yair.

They hadn’t seen Quincy and Jane in a month, a couple of days ago they heard that it was Vincent who stole Kadence’s 2 million, not Quincy and the others. This must mean that Quincy was rich. They just saw Quincy and Jane sitting there, so they came over.

“Jane, why are you still crying?” Anne asked her with concern.

“It’s not a big deal, I just had some of the hot soup that got into my eye.” Jane sat up straight, she only wanted to share her worries with Quincy alone.

“Oh...” Anne didn’t ask more, “By the way, Quincy, can you tell us what your family does for a living?”

Now both Anne and Yair were very curious about Quincy’s family and what they were doing for him to be able to easily take out a million.

If Quincy’s family really was as influencing as they imagine right now, they would have to kiss some ass.

Quincy on the other hand, knew exactly what Anne and Yair were thinking about.

“That money was actually my win from a lottery, it had one and a half million. But after I got the money I didn’t feel good, it made me worry about where it came from, so I donated it, then I took Jane for a trip, which I spent the rest of that money on.” Quincy said after some thought.

“You won a lottery?” Anne and Yair’s jaws dropped.

“It was about a month ago, we had a lottery that had one and a half million as the price, it even was in the news. The winner was wearing a wig when he went to get his money, was that you?” Anne asked Quincy.

Quincy laughed inside, there was actually such a thing?

“Wow, you all know?” Quincy rubbed his nose and said.

“Oh wow...” Anne patted her head disappointed, she thought Quincy was a super rich guy, but he got his money from a lottery. But she quickly caught herself again.

If Quincy wasn’t rich, it was even better, now everything was back to normal, if Quincy was rich, she would now have to kiss Jane’s ass.

When they thought of that, Anne and Quincy both felt much better.

“Man, it was a one in a million chance to win the lottery, why would you donate it all instead of keeping the money, what are you trying to show off? No wonder you are broke, this is what you deserve.” Yair had lost all his respect for Quincy.

“Jane, I don’t even know what to say to you, if it’s enough for Quincy to be so careless, but you are from a poor village in the mountains, don’t you know to keep an eye on him? Now you guy have lost one and a half million. Why do you think you are still poor?” Anne was lecturing Jane.

This moment, Anne’s phone rang, and hearing her answer, it must be her mother calling, they talked for a few minutes after which she hung up, took Yair’s arm all happily, “Babe, my mom said she will come tomorrow to visit!”

“Your mom is coming? That is great, I will finally meet my future mother in law.” Yair said joyfully.

Anne smiled sweetly, then she said to Jane, “Jane, my mom will come over by plane tomorrow. Look at our family, even though we are so far apart, but we can see each other whenever we want, why do you think that is, because we have money, so remember not to waste it when you get some in the future, if you still have the one and a half million, you could tell your mom to come and visit, right? Or wait, even if you had the money, she wouldn’t come, she has never been on a plane before, has she?”

When Jane heard Anne’s words, her eyes sharpened, “Stop talking about my mother.”

“Hey, that’s just the truth.” Anne said with a laugh, “I was gonna say that my mom could bring yours, but look at your attitude, I don’t think so.”

“Really?” Jane heard that she could possibly see her mom, and immediately got excited about it. She really has never been on a plane before, so if she could come with Anne’s mother, Jane wouldn’t have to worry.

“Of course, I even wanted to reimburse her for the ticket, we are still fellow villagers, I know the situation in your family. But I never expected that you don’t even take me as your friend.” Anne said casually.

“Anne, I am sorry, I was over the top.” Jane apologized to Anne, but when Quincy pulled her back, she shook her head, “Please ask your mother to bring mine, I will do whatever you want.”

What a spineless person, I just said it without meaning, but you are taking it serious? Jane, Jane, this is all you are ever gonna be doing in your life.

“Since you are showing so much gratitude, I will agree.”

“Thank you Anne.” Jane was as happy as a little child.

When Anne saw how happy Jane was, she had even less respect for her, this was not a big deal to her, but Jane was excited to this extent about it. Anne felt even more superior to Jane now, and thought that Jane was the clown duck compared to herself.

“Don’t worry, I will pay for the tickets of Jane’s mother’s trip.” Quincy couldn’t keep watching how arrogant Anne looked.

“That’s quite alright, it’s just around 1000 Yuan, we have the money, right babe?” Anne asked Yair in her sweetest voice.

Yair nodded, and then looked at Quincy, “He only offered because the tickets aren’t too expensive. Why do you think he didn’t offer to pay for her hotel expenses as well? The hotel is the most expensive part of all.”

“But we didn’t say that we wanted you to pay for that, did we?” Quincy said with a little smile.

“What do you think, the two of them are coming together, do you actually think it’s good to let them stay in separate rooms? I wouldn’t be able to do such a thing.” Yair said.

“Then we will pay for both their hotel fees, I think that should be fair.” Quincy was getting inpatient.

“If you are gonna pay for the room, does that mean the two of them are going to stay in some small motel? I can’t allow myself to lose face like that.” Yair looked at Quincy in disguise.

“Oh, babe, he just wants to show his best side when meeting his future mother in law.” Anne gave an evil laughter, “Since he already offered, let’s just go along and let Quincy arrange it. I believe whatever he chooses won’t be too bad.”

“Alright then, it’s settled, you are going to arrange for a hotel room, Quincy.” Yair laughed coldly, then he said in a lower voice, “I guess after you meet Jane’s mother, it’s gonna be time to break up with her.”

As soon as the matter was settled, Anne and Yair got up and left.

Quincy accompanied Jane till she finished her lunch, and when they exited the canteen, Jane received a phone call from her mother, saying that Anne’s mom already called to tell her that she will be bringing her to JM City the next day.

When she heard her mom’s voice, Jane was over the top excited.

After Quincy walked Jane back to her dorms for a nap, he made a phone call to Fred, asking him to book two rooms at Berkeley Hotel for Jane’s mother.

“For your girlfriend’s mother? I don’t think Berkeley’s is the right fit, young master, I am gonna arrange an even better hotel for you.”

“Oh?” Quincy was a little curious, hearing Fred’s speak, the hotel he was talking about must be of high class, “Which one is it?”

“Nepenthe Guesthouse” Fred introduced to Quincy, “To be exact, it is not really a hotel, because even if you have the money, it is really hard to get a room, just like Diaoyutai State Guest House in the capital, you gotta be somebody really important, and only after the leader has given his approval, you are allowed to stay.”
