Lock You In My Heart novel Chapter 366

After she got off the car, Jackson left right away.

Gabrielle bought a cup of iced coffee at a nearby cafe. Then, she sat beside the window, trying to calm herself. After drinking half of the coffee, she started feeling much better.

It would take her less than ten minutes to walk to the Morris Group building, so she needed to be calm enough to face Westley later.

Her mind drifted back to the scene she witnessed at the airport -- Westley holding a little girl in his arms, a beautiful woman trailing behind him. Gabrielle wanted to ask him about them, but she held her tongue. Could she muster the courage to ask him now?

She felt a little guilty for no reason.

All she could think about was the happy and warm picture of the three. Perhaps she had no right to ask Westley now.

Thinking of this, Gabrielle gulped down the rest of her drink, completely sobering up after all the wine she had drunk at noon.

Should she even go see him? Gabrielle was having second thoughts.

"Have you seen the little girl Mr. Morris came in with? I couldn't get a full view, but she looked so cute."

"She looks quite like Mr. Morris. Could she be his daughter?"

"Shh! Mr. Morris has a fiancée, you know; the second daughter of the Collins family."

Two young women in business suits entered the coffee shop, abuzz with gossip.

Mr. Morris?

The baby?

Gabrielle hadn't paid much attention to their conversation but overhearing it stirred her thoughts.

If she were right, they could be talking about Westley and the little girl. She didn't expect him to bring her to the company. Did he plan to tell the world about her?

It must be. It wouldn't be surprising for their employees to take breaks at this cafe because they had great coffee and it was near the Morris Group building.

These women should be the employees of Morris Group. What they had said must be true.

Hearing that, Gabrielle stood up at once. She had been hesitating about whether she should go there or not, but now she made up her mind. She needed to talk to Westley right away.

If he really had a lover and a daughter, she would leave him right away. There was no need for her to wait for Nellie and then to divorce him. She didn't have to stay with Westley any longer and feel like a scapegoat.

With bubbling rage, Gabrielle marched towards the company. When she was about to enter, a security guard stopped her.

"I'm sorry, miss. Unless you're an employee, I can't let you in without an appointment."

He stared Gabrielle down.

The Morris Group was under strict management and no outsider was allowed to enter. This was the case after a number of beautiful women like Gabrielle stormed into the company for a chance to bump into Mr. Morris, hoping for a fairytale coming true.

"No." Gabrielle shook her head.

There was no way for her to get inside after coming here out of the blue. Now standing outside the building, she felt a little embarrassed and thought she should leave at once.

"Sorry, miss. I'm afraid that I can't let you in." The security guard refused Gabrielle's request without hesitation.

"I'm here to..."

Bef

ore she could finish her sentence, the guard interrupted her.

"Do you want to tell me that you're here for Mr. Morris?" he asked, snorting.

"I... I'm not looking for Mr. Morris. I'm here for Alvin, his assistant." Gabrielle thought she'd blow all her chances of getting in if she admitted to looking for Westley.

"Mr. Brooks?" The security guard was stunned for a moment, looking at Gabrielle in disbelief.

"Since you are looking for Mr. Brooks, why don't you call him?" The security guard blinked. He still couldn't believe what Gabrielle had said.

After all, Alvin was Westley's special assistant, the closest person to him. If she got in touch with Alvin very often, then she might also be related to Westley.

"My phone is dead. Could you call him for me?" Gabrielle pleaded sincerely.

Her beautiful and bright eyes were shining with the truth.

"Okay. Wait a minute..."

"You're going to have to try harder, miss. That's another old trick in the book. People would look for Mr. Brooks to get to Mr. Morris." Another security guard stopped his colleague before he could call Alvin out.

For what it was worth, Gabrielle felt a little relieved. It seemed that those flirty women had no chance of getting near Westley at all.

Still, the same goes for her, the legitimate wife. The wind blew coldly outside the building, making Gabrielle shiver.

It looked like she couldn't meet him today. Maybe she shouldn't have come at all.

It was time to leave.

When Gabrielle was about to go, a black car stopped in front of her.

"Why are you here, Mrs. Morris? Are you here for the boss?" Alvin popped his head out from the car window, eyes wide in surprise.

Gabrielle had never been to Morris Group before. It was so unexpected that she appeared here all of a sudden.

Besides, it seemed that she hadn't told Mr. Morris about this detour.

"I'm just passing by. I had lunch nearby." Gabrielle tried to keep calm.

It was kind of awkward to run into Alvin when she was planning to uncover Westley's supposed infidelity.

"Mr. Morris doesn't know you're here, right?" Alvin looked at her and asked.

He could tell that was the case.

He just sent Westley, Bonnie, and Tammy back to the Mansion half an hour ago. If Westley knew Gabrielle was coming, he would have definitely waited for her here.

"Well, my phone ran out of battery, so I haven't got the time to tell you. Is he here?" Gabrielle murmured. She had never been so embarrassed before.

"Mr. Morris is not in his office now. He's gone back to Morris' Mansion. They didn't let you in?" Alvin asked, looking at the security guards.

Mr. Morris had set rigid rules for all of them before. An appointment was necessary to get inside.

This was to prevent undesirable encounters and for Westley's safety.

That was why the whole security guards in Morris Group were so strict with this.

It was understandable that the guards didn't allow her in. They had no idea who she was.

"It can't be helped. They're just doing their job. I know I should have called Westley first. When did he go back to the mansion?" Gabrielle asked nervously.
