Love After One-night Stand with CEO novel Chapter 149

Grace left the Silver Beach Villa and went straight to Paige's company.

She ordered a cup of coffee in a cafe downstairs and took a few leisurely sips.

Then, she slowly took out her phone and dialled the number that she found on Geoffrey's phone a day ago.

The call was connected, and soon a cold voice was heard.

"Who is it?"

"Hello, Miss Baker. My name is Grace Nelson. I want to have a chat with you," Grace smiled.

Paige sneered, "Sorry, I don't have time!"

"Wait." Hearing that Paige was going to hang up the phone, Grace stopped her and said, "I know your time is precious, but you will regret it if you don't see me."

"Hah," Paige laughed. She was laughing at Grace for overestimating herself. "I don't know who you are, and I've heard this multiple times. I am sorry. I don't have the time to cooperate with you."

"Don't you want to get back with Henry?" Grace went straight to the point.

"What do you mean?" Paige was stunned and asked.

Grace chuckled, "I'm in the cafe downstairs. I can go up, or you can come down to meet me. How about this? I'll show you something, and you can decide based on it."

After that, Grace hung up the phone.

Then, she sent the photos she took with Rosa.

Almost in a second, her phone rang.

She was invited to Paige's office!

......

After entering the luxuriously decorated office, Grace smiled.

She had planned to enter a high-end company.

And also to own her own office.

Paige sat on the revolving sofa chair, squinting at her.

She was wearing brands all over. However, it didn't hide that she was born into an inferior family.

"From the photo, you look very familiar with her!"

Grace chuckled, "We're best friends!"

"Are you sure you want to hurt your friend?" Paige sneered.

"Don't you want my help? Very well. Just pretend that I have never been here!" Grace got up as if she was about to leave.

"What request do you have?" Paige asked.

Grace stopped in her tracks. She tilted her head and looked at Paige as she said, "You should know that only her best friend knows everything about her and can help you. What do you think I want in return?"

Paige glanced at her and smiled disdainfully. "How do I know you can help me?"

Grace was not annoyed. She opened the phone's album and handed it to Paige.

Confused, Paige picked it up, and her face turned livid.

"I know that you have liked Mr. Lewis for ten years. I also know that his parents like you and not her. But as time goes by, and if she gives birth to two sons, don't you think she will be accepted sooner or later?"

Paige couldn't help clenching her fists, and her expression was ferocious.

Seeing this, Grace raised her eyebrows proudly. "Miss Baker, only I can help you!"

"Why should I trust you?"

"Well, we can stop right here then. If there is no trust, there is no point discussing any further."

Paige looked at her and asked, "What do you want?"

Grace smiled, "Miss Baker, since you've asked, I won't beat around the bush. I will help you, but you will help me too. I want everything from the Garcia family. I want Geoffrey to abandon his wife, the shares of the Garcia family, and to be Geoffrey's wife!"

Paige squinted at her. After a moment of silence, she smiled.

"Are you really her best friend to have such intentions?"

Grace's face darkened as she said, "I might as well tell you that I lost my child because of her and Asher. Do you think I should feel sorry for her, or is it the other way around?"

Paige raised her eyebrows and looked at her. "Are you Geoffrey's mistress?"

Grace glanced at her and said in a bad tone, "Miss Baker, please mind your words. Geoffrey and I love each other. He and that old hag are nothing!"

Paige smiled and didn't say anything.

"Miss Baker, you shouldn't forget that Asher doesn't seem to want to help you in the matter of Mr. Lewis's marriage to my best friend. If she talks to Rosa, the matter of the proposal will not be exposed so soon. In the end, isn't she doing it for her brother's sake? They are the real family!"

Paige smiled, "Very good. I like working with straightforward people. As long as you help me to make her leave, I will help you get everything you want!"

Grace looked at her and said with a smile, "That's a deal. But as for how to do it, we'd better make a long-term plan!"

Paige nodded and picked up the coffee on the table. "Nice doing business with you."

Grace raised the coffee in front of her and smiled coldly, repeating her words.

......

Silver Beach Villa

Henry said he would be back for lunch, but he had to cancel because of something urgent.

After eating, Rosa began to feel sleepy and went upstairs to rest.

Cecil was still reading in the room.

With a bang, the door of Cecil's room was opened.

Hearing this, Cecil looked up and was stunned.

Miranda was in a furry coat and gasping for breath. Her ears were red from the cold.

"Cecil, I've been thinking about it for a long time. I have something to tell you!"

Cecil looked at Miranda and clenched his fists uneasily. He said, "Go on."

"I don't want to talk here. Can you go out with me?"

"Where are we going?"

"How about a walk around the area?" Miranda asked, panting.

For some reason, Cecil's heart softened.

"Okay!"

Miranda grinned and pushed him out.

"Cecil, Miranda, where are you going?" Aunt Abbie asked as she came over.

"We're going for a walk in the area. We'll be back soon."

"Then I'll keep you company. In case you need anything!" Aunt Abbie didn't dare to slack. After all, Henry had instructed her to take good care of Cecil and Rosa.

"No need, Aunt Abbie. We won't go out of the residential area," Miranda said in a hurry.

"Aunt Abbie, it'll be nearby. Do you doubt the security here?"Cecil chuckled.

Aunt Abbie thought about it for a moment and agreed. Only the rich were staying around there, and outsiders were not allowed to enter.

"Okay, but come back early. I'll ask Luke to prepare something delicious for you," Aunt Abbie said with a smile.

"Okay!"

The two answered and went out.

The design of this residential area was in a European garden style. There were springs, flowers and plants, and courtyards everywhere.

The residential area was quiet, beautiful, and elegant.

Miranda pushed Cecil toward the landscape area.

On the way, they met a family of five from England, who were walking and chatting happily.

Miranda felt that this scene was so warm.

Cecil had been here for several days and had never come out.

He didn't expect the environment here was so good and the air to be so fresh.

The lake was clear, and ducks were swimming in the lake.

For some reason, his agitated mood was eased.

There was a rattan chair in front of them. Miranda pushed him there. She sat down and let him face her.

Cecil looked at her. Her eyes were like the first time he saw her, shining.

"Cecil, I came to see you today because I want to tell you something."

Cecil didn't say anything, but he was inexplicably nervous.

Miranda took a deep breath and chuckled, "You refused me. I thought about it for a long time. I was wondering why you suddenly rejected me, and I finally understood. You were worried about public opinion and my family, weren't you?"

Cecil's calm eyes moved slightly, and his fingers twitched involuntarily.

Miranda caught sight of those tiny movements.

"Cecil, you like me, don't you?" She squatted down and looked at him, wanting to see through him.

Cecil tilted his head and looked to the side unnaturally.

"Miranda... don't do this!"

Miranda smiled. She didn't cry or get angry.

She grabbed his hand and said with a smile, "I've figured it out. Since I like you, I will fight to be with you. I used to be too shy to stand up for what I wanted, and I missed out so much. I don't want to repeat it. And I am sure that you like me."

The look in his eyes wouldn't lie!

Cecil was trembling as he frowned.

After a while, he looked at her, nodded, and said coldly, "You think too much. I only like you as a friend, not a woman."

As soon as he finished speaking, he pulled his hand back.

Miranda felt the urge to cry, but she held back her tears.

She smiled and stood up. She looked down at him and said, "Cecil, how long are you going to deceive yourself? Why are you afraid to go further?"

Cecil didn't say anything, but his expression was unpredictable.

Miranda took a deep breath, pushed him aside, and said.

"Cecil, look, what is this place?"

Cecil followed her gaze and found that it was a curvy path.

"This is the only place that is not well designed. It's a blind spot. Every time a luxury car comes, they will have to horn to tell others they are coming through. Do you think there will be a car hitting me when I stand here?" she smiled.

Cecil's face changed as he was frightened. "What are you going to do?"

Miranda smiled playfully and jumped up. She said, "Cecil, let's make a gamble. If you don't like me, you can't move. If a car drives by and hits me, it will be my luck. I won't pester you if you stay there."

Cecil was stunned. "Are you crazy?"

"Yes, I'm crazy!" Miranda did not smile, and her eyes were firm.

The next second, she walked to the blind spot in front of them.

"Don't move or shout if you want to get rid of me. After proving it, I can move on from you."

As soon as Miranda finished speaking, an ear-piercing horn sounded.

He looked at the white car from the convex mirror.

Miranda stood there, unmoved, revealing a faint smile.

Cecil's pupils shrank sharply. He was nervous and on edge.

At that moment, he felt like he was going crazy.

There was a sudden screech of brakes.

Miranda felt as if the world was spinning, and she felt a sharp pain in her wrist. She fell into an embrace.

There was a tight grip on her wrist that could crush her bone.

Miranda was in so much pain that her face wrinkled. She was forced to look up at the tall man in front of her.

She was stunned.

"Are you crazy?" A startled shout rang out.

Miranda frowned and forgot the pain. She could not believe it. "Cecil, you can stand up?"
