Hailey’s tone was clean and crisp, with a slight coolness. But in Eve’s mind, she was like being struck by lightning and indescribably terrified. With what she

knew about Hailey, she knew that she could do it if she said it! “No, you can’t, you can’t hit me…” Eve shook her head desperately, ignoring the pain of the torn scalp. She suddenly fell off the bed and crawled forward. She wanted to get out of here! As soon as she opened the door of the room, two bodyguards standing outside blocked her way and instantly pushed her back again.
