Chapter 104 What She Said Really Meant it!

“Ms. Newman !” As soon as she saw Hailey, the girl acted as if she had fallen into the devil’s den before and now found the way back to the world. Su the urge to cry for a moment, and ran towards Hailey in a tumble. But when Reid saw Hailey walk in with Ava, his face was darkened immediately. “It’s none of your business here. You can go down now.” After she asked Allan to take the gril down, Hailey dragged Ava into the room. Reid looked unhappy for he had been disturbed, sitting there with his legs crossed and remaining

motionless. His delicate clothes were extremely disproportionate to what he had been doing. As a

self-proclaimed gentleman, he did everything dirty behind others’ back. Although she didn’t like the insidious cunning Morgan, Hailey disliked the filthy Reid who pretended to be virtuous. Sometimes Hailey wondered why the siblings from the same parent were so different. Raised in the same environment, they had totally different personalities. Some trees looked relatively straight and grew to be strange in the end. “Hey, Hailey, what are you doing?” Reid brushed off the dust that didn’t exist on his body, said hello to Hailey without raising his head. He took a file on the table and pretended to focus on it. Hailey’s indifferent gaze swept across Reid ‘s face, and the words she spat out were cold and ruthless,

“Maybe I should ask you the question. Why are you doing here?” Questioned by Hailey like this, Reid still kept calm on his expression. Even in front of his own daughter, he

still talked about it straightly. He said with an evil smile, “The little girl wants to be famous and had pestered on me. And I can’t do anything about it. No man would refuse a woman who throws herself on him.” Such shameless words made Ava feel ashamed for her father. Hailey looked at Reid coldly, and couldn’t help but want to spit at him. Once a person was shameless, he was not different from a mad dog on the

street.

Ever since he became the vice president, Reid had regarded Southern Star Entertainment as his harem as

if he were the emperor. He had flirted with many girls in the company. In others’ eyes, he was shameless and dirty. But he regarded himself as a charming playboy. How disgusting! Over the years, many girls who were not mature enough and yet wanted to be popular got together with Reid, some actively and some passively, even with the protection of Randal and Hailey. As for Cindy who finally succeeded in marrying Reid, she behaved as if she was a winner who got the position. The whole world was unbelievably absurd, but it really existed. Now that Hailey was back, she would clean up the company instead of standing such behaviour. She walked over to sit down on the sofa. She swept her indifferent gaze towards Reid, but a sneer appeared

on the corner of her lips, “As a person gets old, he tends to become more thick-skinned. He will say

shameless words. Ava, it’s better for him to die instead of living.”

What Hailey said really made Reid embarrassed, which may be beyond Reid’s imagination. He slammed

the table heavily and shouted, “You bastard, how dare you scold your third uncle?!” Hailey picked up a glass on the table, sized it in her hand, and said lightly, “You should be glad that you

are my third uncle. If you were someone else, I would not just scold you. Your head may not be in you

neck in that case.”

As soon as she finished speaking, she threw the glass straightly at Reid. Before he could react, the glass wiped his cheek and flew to the glass cabinet behind him. With a “bang”, the glass shattered on the

ground, which made Reid hug his head in fright. Standing aside, Ava was so frightened that she sat up subconsciously, feeling that her heart almost

stopped beating. If the glass was a little bit closer to her father’s head, then now it might be her father’s

head instead of the glass that would be broken. Hailey’s threatening words always really meant it. It was

decided by how she thought about someone’s death.

Reid huddled under the table with his head in his arms. Looking at the shattered glass, he felt his face

turned ashen with fright. With the sun shining brightly outside, he felt as if his whole body seemed to

have just got out of an ice lake, shivering with cold. He reached out and touched his cheek, only to find

that the cheekbones were already swollen. He could feel that it was so painful even with the slightest

touch.

Reid stood up slowly and looked at Hailey with a terrified face. Not until this moment did he realize that

Hailey really meant it and she was no longer the little girl who chased him coquettishly and called him third uncle when she was a child. God knows when she had become so evil. He had a vague feeling that his surviving eldest niece might be more cruel than his dead eldest brother, and she would let him suffer

a lot!

When Reid told Morgan about his worries, Morgan’s old face also wrinkled, and he said in a stern voice: “I have already found about it much earlier. Hailey must have known something. When she comes back

this time, maybe she asked for our lives.”

“What can she know? About the car accident that year, we…we just didn’t tell them in advance! Those

people wanted their lives, what can we do? I don’t take this responsibility…” “Okay, shut up!” Morgan interrupted his brother angrily, “Things have already happened, do you think you can escape? Now that you want to get away from your responsibility? What benefits do you think you can get if you leave us alone? Do you think Hailey, our big niece, will not know your fault and let you go?” Morgan snorted coldly, “What if she really lets you go? We’ve led an unsatisfied life in her father’s hands for most of our lives, and you still want to be controlled by Hailey again? You won’t be wealthy if you are not willing to take risks. I don’t want to live those poor days in the past!”

Upon hearing what Morgan said, Reid turned speechless. Who would want to live those days?

It was easy for people to live good lives after they experienced poor lives. But it was hard to live poor lives after they experienced good lives. Who will be willing to go back to the past and live those miserable and poor days after having enjoyed the convenience and pleasure brought by money and power?

Reid gritted his teeth, “Then what are we going to do now? The bastard Hailey has already revoked my vice president position and kicked me out of Southern Star Entertainment. Sooner or later, you, the chairman, will have to be replaced by her. If she goes on like this, the good days for our brothers will come to an end.” Morgan’s turbid eyes flashed with a sullen look, emitting a sinister light. He said scornfully: “She is no match for us. She is wet behind the years. How powerful can she be? I won’t let her be arrogant for too

long.”

After hanging up the phone, Morgan said to Eve, “Your marriage with Luca should also be put on the

agenda.”
