Indeed, as soon as Dew said that, people’s expressions changed at the dining table,

The Daugherty family finally got over the change only after two whole years.

Everyone in the family was involved.

Adina saw all the changes in their expressions before she smiled faintly, chuckled, and said, “I always want to ask Mom this. What drink did you give me on my 18th birthday? Why did I just become unconscious after I drank it? When I woke up, I was actually on the hotel bed…”

As soon as Adina said that, Ruby’s expression suddenly changed.

She squinted. “Addy, what nonsense are you talking about?”

“Grandma, you know me very well. I was a little capricious, but I was not an easy girl.” Adina bit her bottom lip, and her eyes were teary. 

“During the eight months when I was grounded in the warehouse by dad, I thought about a lot of things, but I could also relate it to the glass of wine in the end. Ruby gritted her teeth.She had done this very quietly without leaving any evidence.

But if Adina the bi*ch frequently brought it up, Old Mrs. Daugherty would definitely suspect her!

When Ruby thought about this, she took a deep breath.

“Yes, we should move on.” Adina flashed a strange smile. “Did Dew say she is the heir of the Daugherty family now?”

She forced a smile. “Addy, everyone thought you’re dead at that time, and I was the only child in the Daugherty family. So, naturally, I would be the heir…”

“But I’m back now. So, Dew, should you return the status of the heir?”

Unexpectedly, Sammy said, “Ruby, I think what Addy said is right. She died, so the status of the heir was transferred to Dew. But Addy is back and alive now, right? If Dew still forcefully occupies the position that rightfully belongs to Addy, isn’t this unreasonable?”

Becky also helped. “I think Ruby is reluctant to return the shares back. It’s 50%! It’s a huge amount of money. If I were her, I would be reluctant, too.”

“How can we just make such important changes as and when we want?” Aaron coldly said, “ Addy, don’t cause trouble as soon as you come home. Eat your food!”
