Mates But Enemies novel Chapter 17

Nadia's POV.

He might not recognize me but I knew him very well. Even though he had saved my life and that of my son's, I still didn't know why I hated him into my bones. It seems he had done me a grave sin but it was also obvious that it was just a few days back that we had met. But the strange feeling of acknowledgement was so strong I couldn't understand why, touching as I did hurt my hand strongly and the pain he inflicted on me had become a tattoo on my skin. And it had got me thinking about the power he had ignited in me that I knew nothing of before I met him. My heart beat for him, I couldn't figure out if it was out of fear or hate or something else but it was likeable that it was all of it. I walked closer to him then instantly, I heard a voice say,

“What's she doing here? She always took the back gate, what happened today? ”

I looked at the person before he or she could see that I was looking and saw that it was the receptionist before she could do something about being caught, I had already seen and heard her. I was going to question her about her thoughts but then I realized that they were actually her thoughts and it wasn't wise for me to ask her about it. I looked back at his way to find him limping away, I looked at his leg and felt guilty for what I did, hurting my savior. But then a voice whispered in me, saying,

He deserves it better than anyone, I hurt him on purpose, don't worry about him. I looked around astonished and afraid but found only my male bodyguard standing a few meters away. I held my chest and breathed as slow as I could, then I asked myself,

“What is happening to you? who is that inside me?”

“I'm only your power, and yes he ignited me with his first touch. ” It said calmly.

“Shut up!! just shut up NAD. Don't talk to yourself okay?”

I said and walked inside the building on my way to my office, the employees greeted me on my way but I was sure I wasn't in for that, that day. I got to my office and called my secretary not to let anyone in the office for an hour. I sat on the chair behind the desk and decided to contact that thing in me once again, so I asked,

“Who are you, once again?”

“I am you, or should I say the old version of you. I had wanted to stay quiet forever but his presence irritates me, can you not let him touch us? Or us him?” She said in a chilly voice.

“Are you talking about Logan? Why are you so angry with him? He hasn't wronged me in anyway. ” I said confused.

“I will not tell you anything for now but just stay away from him, he isn't good for us. ” she said annoyingly.
