Mates But Enemies novel Chapter 26

Nadia's POV

After looking after Leo for some time, I decided to go to my black businesses and on my way visit Absalom. Because I needed to know the truth about Leo and the reason he hid that important part of his life from me. My businesses weren't legal but I felt well accomplished whenever I dealt with those elephant mosquitoes who were sucking the blood from the poor. Whenever I killed one mosquito, I took what I got and gave it those who needed it to continue living. I called in one of the maids and asked her to look after him till I or my mother returned because after she called me after the incident, I had not set my eyes on her. And from the way her voice was panicking, I knew she knew nothing about that being making me escape from the suspicion of being one of them. I got up to leave but felt a hand on my arm squeezing it tightly as if the person's life depended on it, I looked at him and heard him whisper in his sleep, “Ade... please ...help.. Me... I .. Think...I am ... One ..of you... Please help me...pl..” I kept my hand on his mouth to stop him from saying more and looked at him surprised because I didn't understand why he would call out a stranger when he was in trouble when he had all his family to ran to. I asked myself and the voice in my head answered surprising me once again, I wasn't still used to her speaking up at times and going off in another. “You bet he would. ” Then I asked curious, “Why would he?” Then the maid asked, “Miss, you said,...” Then I realized, I had spoken out loud, so I left the room and made my way to mine to change into something comfy and not high heels and office wear. I changed into shorts and a waterproof jacket and in a few minutes, I was looking at the sea, it looked so attractive and alluring and I wanted to dive into it so much. But I took a step to go to my secret place but then I heard a whisper, I stopped and looked around to see if there was anyone but I didn't see anyone. But surprisingly, the voice in me started sobbing I was curious but didn't pry into it. So I took off once again but two steps forward and the whisper came again, I stopped and looked at the way it came from and saw a light on the sea that wasn't the light from the sun. I felt drawn to it so I took a step closer but the voice in my heard shouted in a hoarse voice, “Don't go any closer to them, we are not ready to go to them in as much as I want to them let's not go okay?” I was curious as to why she also didn't want me to go and who she was talking about i knew she was sad about something and what was whispering had something to do with it,so I asked, “Why shouldn't I go? And are the ‘we’you talking about? What are we not prepared for?” She then sighed but asked, “Are you not curious about Leo anymore? ” “Sure! and he is my priority so I will come and see what that is later. ” I said affirmatively. Then, she left me again, I stared at the light once again and as much as I heard the whispers, I moved on to the place. I got ready and boarded the car, it reviewed me on the tasks , I had ahead and I had gotten three rotten eggs to eliminate and since I had not checked on it, I had to finish them all at once. I drove to Absalom's place and saw him with him his suitcase which he never gave anyone and his bodyguards following him with his other bags. The message was clear but I wasn't having that till he told me what I needed to know and what had to be done about it. He saw me and was surprised then asked his bodyguards to put the bags into his car but I told them otherwise, he looked on shocked and a little worried and asked, What is the problem? Are you okay? Is our son okay?” I looked at him angrily and sneered then asked looking at him closely, “Is there something you are not telling me? ” He shook his head confused and asked again, “Is our son okay?” I looked at him and then at his bodyguards, he saw the sign and asked them to excuse us and asked me to join him inside. In two minutes, we were seated in his huge hall with drinks in our hands, he looked at me lustily and said, “I feel like I have never had you whenever I see you, you are so damn seductive by doing. ” But then the question I asked him took him off the edge he had in front of him. “Are you a werewolf? And if you are, why haven't I been told? Why did you not tell me? I asked agitated and angry. But he was there dumb but I didn't know if he was deaf too, just then he went on his knees and whispered, “I am sorry.”
