Mistaken Identity novel Chapter 55

Alex POV

I smiled as I walked in the hospital. Today Kaiilyah will be released and I'll have her home with me again. I wanted to stay with her last night but she wouldn't allow that.

"No, I'm going to stay here with you." I stretched my feet out and rest my hands at the back of my neck. I was lying in a resting position.

"No, you need to go home and sleep."

"But I want to start with you." I stretched my words and pout at her.

She rolled her eyes and smiled. "But you stink and need to shower," she replied in the same tone I used.

"I don't stink."

"Yes, you do."

"No, I don't."

"Yes, you do."

I rolled my eyes playfully. "You haven't being awake for twelve hours yet and you're already giving me trouble."

"That's because you love me."

I smiled at her. "I do."

"Good. Now leave. I will not marry a man with bad hygiene."

I smiled. Okay, she caught me with those words. Not that I had bad hygiene but she just woke up. I want to spend as much time as I can with her. I want her to know that she means the world to me and i will not lose her again. I can't. I won't.

I got up and walked over to her bed. I bend and kiss her on the forehead like I've did while she was still in coma. "Goodbye, my love. I love you."

She smiled. "Goodbye."

I walked out of her room with a smile. I didn't mind that she didn't tell me she loved me too. Luke told me to take things slow. I will take things as slow as possible. I want her to know the new me.

I walked to her room. I knocked on the door and entered. The doctor, Luke and Alliyah were present.

"Nice for you to join us Mr. Carter, I was just explaining to them that Ms. Bisson is still under medication and since she still hasn't recovered her memory you guys should take it slow." Dr. Baines warned. "Make sure she has at least ten hours of sleep each day. She needs it." he paused and look at his clipboard. "I cannot tell when she'll regain her memory but as I said she will."

"But Dr. Baines, Paige in "The Vow" never regained her memory. What if Kalliyah doesn't?" Alliyah interrupted.

The doctor smiled and rubbed the back of his head as if he was nervous. "You see Ms. Bisson, that was a rare case. Both women were in an accident but Kalliyah's head was not hit as bad as I think Paige's own was. If I remember clearly page was in coma from a longer time than Kalliyah which shows that she will indeed recovery. Her brain scan has showed increase amount of activities. Just not as much as someone like you but as she recovers her brain activity will increase don't worry she's perfectly fine.

"You guys are talking as if I'm not here. Hello and by the way Doc, I'm not perfectly fine. No one is perfect." I smiled Kalliyah although she doesn't remember anything her smartass attitude is still there. I smiled at that. That's what drawed me to her the first time we met.

I smile at the memory.

"Why are you following me?" she flashed with anger. I looked at her admiring her features, which i shouldn't be doing. But how can i help it. Her grey eyes were memorizing. I opened my mouth to say something when her hands came close to my face. "Don't give me crap, I know you're following me. What do you want?" she shouted.

How can such a beautiful person behave the way she does? I looked at her now with disgust.

I grimace. Yeah, i wasn't so nice to her.

The doctor laughed. "Well that's true, but you know what I'm saying. Make sure you take your medication everyday. You come back here for a check up in two-weeks time. We'll give you a brain scan to see what's going on up there but thats only if you haven't recovered from your memory lost before the appointment." The doctor tap his board and smile. "It was lovely having you here as a patient, Ms. Bisson. See you in two weekz." he then turn to leave.

Kalliyah smiled cheekily then said, "I'll make sure she takes all the meds doc."

Luke clapped his hands. "Let's get you out of this hospital." He recommends. Which brought a bigger smile on my face. Out of this hospital and in my New York home.
