Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant novel Chapter 57

She sneered wildly and wantonly, looking charming.

Euan was shocked and angry and had a bit of a headache at the same time. In three years, she had not only grown in ability and boldness, but also in thorns.

Well, Euan would slowly pull the thorns out of her body one by one.

She had saved herself from undergoing the sufferings of flesh with provocation and sarcasm. And Euan had gone into the bedroom wrapped in a blanket after taking bath and never said another word to her.

She was practically out of her wits. If she continued to argue with him, she was bound to be unable to cope.

Wasn't it just sleeping on the sofa? She wasn't so pretentious.

But lying on the couch, she was sleepless. Fumbling with the ring she had picked up shamelessly, Riley pursed her lips. Of course, she had to keep something so valuable. It would be a great weapon to use during their divorce.

Only, as soon as the word divorce came to mind, Riley's frown never unfolded.

Thinking about the cocktails she had bought, she simply got up barefoot, opened the fridge and took two of the fancy cocktails out, and took several sips from the bottle.

Heh.

As she drank, she laughed to herself. Heart?

Of course, she had a heart. Her heart was all in him. From the first meeting until just now, every beat of her heart had screamed out her attachment to him.

He was the one who didn't have a heart!

Riley wrapped her fingers around the bottle of wine. The red wine stained her lips, making it look as enchanting as a poppy.

‘Euan, let's play a game. I don't believe I can't have your heart. Even if we divorce, I'll take your heart with me!’

It had been three years, no, five years in total, and she had been totally devoted to him, only to receive the word "bitch" from him in return.

So she would let him have his way, let him see how he fell under her skirt as a bitch!

Putting down the wine, her face was tinted cherry pink from the low level of alcohol. Cuddling up to her pillow, Riley fell into a deep sleep.

Of course, she wouldn't know the look on the face of the man who had walked out of the bedroom at midnight, stopping by the sofa and seeing the crimson on her face by the moonlight.

Nor would she know how the blanket she had kicked away had returned to her.

Riley woke up early the next morning, feeling a little light-headed. She had a real cold.

With her clothes drying on the balcony, she returned to the bathroom to change her clothes and tied her hair behind her head with a rubber band.

She made a simple, light, and delicate home-made breakfast. It was a nutritious and appetizing Chinese meal, consisting of freshly ground soy milk and yellow fried eggs. She set the breakfast on the table with grace and elegance.

There were boxes of toothbrushes in the trash that had been thrown away. It looked like he'd found a spare toothbrush from home last night. The corners of Riley's mouth curled as she took a sip of the soy milk.

Euan was a human being, no matter how good he was. He must have the basic needs of life.

Shedding all his pride, didn't he still get sick and feel hungry?

‘Just be arrogant, don't eat for a while if you can!’

After breakfast, Riley grabbed the spare key and went out.

When Euan got up, there was no longer Riley in the house, only the smell of breakfast filling the small living room.

Euan's brow furrowed at this sight.

Did she just go away after leaving breakfast?

"Elijah, come here now."

Where the hell did Riley get the nerve to challenge his authority!

When she arrived at the hospital, Riley had changed into a brand new white coat and was walking briskly down the corridor with her heels clicking. It was as if the events of the last few days had not left a mark on her face. She was Dr. Watson again, aloof and unapproachable.

"Dr. Watson."

She had just finished her rounds and was exchanging treatment options for a patient with her assistant when William came out of the lift and called out to her.

Riley smiled at him of course, "Mr. Hardesty, can I help you?"

The assistant and several other doctors greeted William. He nodded symbolically, but his eyes remained on Riley, "Mary's surgery was successful. Do you want to go see her?"

"Really?"

Riley could not hide her joy, and watery eyes glowed with a faint light.

"Really, the patient is out of danger before I came to see you. Come on, let's go see her together."

William's invitation was so course, and although there was an indescribable intimacy, onlookers could not see the slightest hint of ambiguity between the two. They just envied Riley for getting on so quickly with Mr. Hardesty.

Inside the intensive care unit.

Mary was lying quietly. Her husband and mother stood by, thanking William and Riley again and again. The image of Riley, trampled into the mud, rose.

But -

Riley asked in a low voice, "Mr. Hardesty, did you ... really promise the family and save the adult?"

Because Mary's big belly was gone, and it was flat under the covers. Her heart ached. That was a forming child!

Seeing her nervous look all of a sudden, William smiled, and the cleft in his chin showed slowly. He smiled so warmly, "I promised you that I would save them both. How could I go back on my word?"

"Where is the ... child?"

"Come with me."

A few minutes later, Riley saw the tiny baby in the incubator. Just seven months old, the baby seemed to be able to be picked up with one hand. He was so small that one's heart melted at the sight of him.

Riley moved closer to the incubator and looked at the tiny creature inside with fascination. His little hand wiggled gently as if he was still lying in his mummy's tummy, and his tiny pink fist clenched. That tiny, pink little baby was like a spring of water flowing through Riley's parched heart, touching the softest tip of her heart.

The baby ... this magical little creature was the baby.

Riley couldn't help but press her hand against the glass and wrap the baby's fingers through it, "Baby, how are you?"

William, who was tall and warm, stood behind her. He smiled abruptly as he sensed her strong affection for the baby, "He's fine, but he was born prematurely and will be here for half a month. You'll be able to hold him in half a month."

"How amazing! Have you ever noticed how amazing life really is! From being so small and slowly growing into a man! It's really amazing."

There was a love for the child in her eyes and brows. She loved children and wished so much that she had a child of her own! She and Euan's child.
