Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant novel Chapter 75

William came down from the car in front and saw Riley.

It was the first time he saw her wearing a dress, a simple dress without any accessories. She did not even put down the ponytail that she usually tied up during work. But, her pure and clean image easily caught his attention.

Her gracefulness surprised him a lot.

Jeanne, Moriah and the other female doctors were all dressed up very well. Although Riley’s dress was not outstanding, just her clean, refreshing appearance made her stand out among the crowd.

They went directly to the seventh floor. There were only two presidential rooms on the seventh floor, but both the rooms occupied the whole floor dominantly. The rooms were enormous.

The drinks, wine, snacks, and fruits were placed neatly on the few tables that were arranged into a long table. The European-style sofas were arranged into a semicircle. The room was at least 200 square meters with not only karaoke, but also the snooker, mahjong table, and other facilities.

When they went in, the whole room became noisy and restless at once.

“Mr. Hardesty! Sing! You are the boss today!”

One of the doctors handed the microphone to William, forcing him to sing the first song. William rejected, “You all carry on. I’m not good at singing.”

Riley sat on the sofa, and William sat on the other end. There was no one between them but the distance between them was far. Riley held on to the glass with one hand, and her other hand was on the sofa. William gazed at her.

However, she was in a daze as she gazed in some direction.

Of course, she would not know what the people around her thought.

But Jeanne saw all of that. The wine glass covered her face, but her gaze was on William all the while. His enthusiastic and caring gaze of William on Riley was what she had always wanted from him!

“Everyone, don’t just sing. Mr. Price wanted to thank all the personnel that had made great contributions to the operation. Come on, let’s raise the glass to our main surgeon, Mr. Hardesty!”

Everyone surrounded William and gave him a toast. Riley took a sip too.

“No. That would not be sincere enough. We have to each toast you individually! Since Mr. Hardesty’s medical skill is so excellent, he surely can drink a lot!”

With that, many people took turns to toast William. William was a good drinker and was not drunk at all.

“Next, shall we pay our respect to Dr. Watson? Dr. Watson had made a great contribution as the first assistant of this operation. She even helped Dr. Smith after she finished her operation! The toast is a must!”

Riley was shocked, “I can’t drink much. Can I drink only one glass of wine?”

Moriah sneered, “Dr. Riley, are you looking down upon us? Even Mr. Hardesty did not say anything when we toasted him. What do you mean by this?”

William said, “I am a man, we can’t be compared. Toasting once would be enough.”

Moriah asked everyone, “Do you guys think that’s fine?”

“No! Dr. Watson must drink! Dr. Watson! Dr. Watson!”

Riley who could not stand the cheers of the crowd could only hold up her wine, “Okay, I’ll drink.”

Moriah swayed her glass a little, “Dr. Watson, I admire your medical skills. I’ll give you the first toast.”

She lifted her head and drank it all. Then, she inverted her glass and shook it, “Okay?”

“Good job, Dr. Curry! Dr. Watson, finish it!”

Riley frowned. Her glass was full…

She closed her eyes and drank all of it.

Once the toast started, it would not end just like that. The people who wanted to toast her came one after another. William held up his hand to stop them, “That’s enough. Let’s stop.”

He snatched Riley’s glass, “I’ll drink this for her.”

“Mr. Hardesty should drink two glasses of that if you want to help her!”

Riley only felt that she was dizzy. The karaoke seemed to be shaking below her feet. The wine numbed her brain, and her head ached. She pressed on her temples and shook her head. She felt she was about to vomit.

Riley felt sudden nauseous, and she stumbled towards the toilet as holding onto the sofa.

William just wanted to follow with Riley when Jeanne came towards him with a glass of wine. She held onto him, “Mr. Hardesty, I did not have the chance to toast you just now. I’ll toast you now.”

When Riley got out of the room, she held onto the wall and walked to the toilet. Then, she squatted down and threw up all the things in her stomach.

She staggered out the toilet. The sink was at the doorway of the toilet. One side was for the males’ toilet, while the other side was for the ladies' toilet. Riley placed her hand in the sink and washed it. The water flowed out from the tap, and she sprinkled some onto her face. She was finally a little sobered up.

But…

She had sobered up, but why was there Euan’s reflection on the mirror.

There was a mirror above the sink. Euan was looking at Riley through the mirror. Both of their eyes intersected in the mirror…

Riley shook her head vigorously. 'Impossible, it must be an illusion. Euan would not be in a place like this. Absolutely not!’

When she opened her eyes again, Euan’s face was still there in the mirror. He was gazing at her with an unfathomable look. He was judging on her, questioning her, and had a tint of care for her in his gaze.

Riley turned around slowly and looked at her back with her blurry eyes. Euan, who was behind her, turned around at the same time. His tall and sturdy body was stern and domineering, overpowering her.

Riley was awakened at that moment.

She blurted out, “Why are you here?”

Euan pulled out a tissue and wiped the water on his hands elegantly. “I am the one who should ask you that. You did not come back the whole night yesterday because of an overtime job. Then how are you going to explain yourself about today?”

Riley was drunk, but she still had her sense. She told him the true condition, “We are having a party with the colleagues in the hospital. If you don’t believe in me, we are in that private room.”

So, she was in the private room opposite the private room of the MBK gathering. The doctors were willing to spend money. Spending money in such a place meant that they must use up everyone’s total salary of the month to pay it.

Euan frowned. Her drunk state made him frustrated, “Did you drink?”

Riley tried to force herself to stay awake, “You have your work gathering, I have mine. Since I don’t interfere with yours, then you shouldn’t interfere with mine too.”
