With the last trace of hope on her mind, Lydia was waiting for his reply.

Euan glanced at her coldly and without emotion. His face was devoid of any expression.

However, the reluctance and detachment was obvious as shown by his chilly eyes.

“Yes.”

His reply was short and clipped, and his determination even caused her to have a drastic change of expression.

Was he really not going to ask her to stay except for their child?

Lydia’s eyes became watery and they broke free, washing her cheeks. Her tender face was now glowing with red because of feeling heartbroken as she gnashed her teeth, “Do you mean that you are staying by my side because you care about this child?”

Lydia shut her eyes and allowed her tears to soak her delicate face. Her face was losing its luster and her eye lines were becoming blotched.

Euan didn’t even frown but he also wasn’t in a hurry to respond. Only when Lydia opened her eyes again he started to ask, “Do you think that I care so much about this child?”

Euan’s tone was mechanical which made him sound like he wasn’t talking to a woman who was bearing his own child.

Lydia felt her back becoming tense as her soft hands balled into fists, “Euan… What do you mean?”

Euan tossed the document in his hands onto the floor, which caused Lydia to slip a little.

“What do I mean? Do you think I wouldn’t learn of that with how much time we have spent together?”

The man’s cold and distant features brought out his vicious conviction as he studied her expression. His depthless gaze seemed to be boring a hole through this woman’s heart.

Lydia suddenly ramped up her crying and her shoulders were jerking up and down wildly following her wails and sobs, “Euan, what do you mean? Are you suspecting that this child does not belong to you?”

Euan watched her cry and his brows couldn’t help forming creases on his forehead.

“Aren’t you even more clean than me on that? Do you even need to ask me?” Was his cold reply.

Lydia’s wailing was even more violent, “Euan, how can you say that? How can you suspect me? This child is definitely your child, and I always wanted to tell you about that night when you were drunk, you thought that I was Riley. When we were doing it, you kept calling her name.”

Euan’s brows furrowed together all of a sudden!

“Euan… How can I bring myself to reveal such things? You were on top of me, yet you were calling her name! However, this child is really yours. That night, you had done it a lot of times, and then…”

Euan clenched his fists, “And then what?”

Veins were bulging on his back!

“Then… I couldn’t stand it anymore and fainted. When I awoke, you were still sleeping, and I had left the hotel urgently because of a job. You… Don’t you remember a single thing?”

Getting drunken? Hotel? Done it multiple times?

Why did Euan never have any memories of that? He only recalled Lydia called him a lot of times to ask for his accompaniment, but he never recalled himself drinking like crazy. How could he get drunk if he didn’t drink?

“Of course I know what I am talking about! Euan, from the cold treatment you have always been directing towards me, I can see clearly that you are just using me to make Riley angry. I know all of that, yet I am willing to become your tool. That is because I really love you!”

Her eye lines were completely blurred by her tears, and the black blotch was spreading on her pretty face.

“In the past five years, whenever you needed me, I would always appear. Whenever you were angry, happy or when you needed to do it, I never had any complain. Euan, why aren’t you choosing me in the end?”

Euan’s brows were so tightly knitted together that deep wrinkles were visible on his forehead.

He was indebted to Lydia, therefore he had invested in her and made her pathway clear so that she could become the most sought after actress in the entertainment industry today.

However, Euan wasn’t someone who would start having feelings for a woman just because of something like this.

After that incident, he never initiated any contact with her, and he would only contact her if it was some matters regarding work. He would simply acknowledge her gratitude but never responding.

He always turned a blind eye to her flattery and invitation.

If he was so touched to the point that he even wanted to marry her into the family just because she had accompanied him in front of the hospital bed for a few days, he would become a laughing stock in the eyes of others!

However, it seemed that Lydia couldn’t move on from it, and she was even using this as a bargaining chip to make him feel bad.

As she continued to ramble on, she was chuckling and sobbing at the same time, “Euan, it has been five years. The best part of my life has been with you, yet you are really going to do me like this? If you are really that heartless, I can even abort this child and will never have anything to do with you anymore.”

Lydia climbed up from the floor and left the study room without looking back.
