Kerry was a well-known fashion designer and had received numerous awards in various fashion weeks held in Milan and Paris. Most of Euan’s suits, tuxedos were designed by her, she knew his taste well.

Elijah arrived in Kerry’s studio and headed towards her office directly, “Hello! Long time no see.”

Kerry was working on a design while she saw Elijah and automatically she looked behind him, “Where is your boss?”

“This is not the Grand Palace, does my boss need to pay a visit by himself? I can be the representative, do you have any new design?”

Elijah wandered around the exhibition area, there were loads of new suits on display, meticulously designed ties, shoes and a series of metal lattice accessories were also on display.

Kerry was a highly productive designer who was able to produce numerous excellent pieces within a month.

Elijah brushed across a row of suits while visualizing how well it looked on his boss. No matter which design, his boss was able to carry it with perfection.

“Okay, okay, so what would Mr Parker like today?”

Euan was a generous and regular client, he treated Kerry with manners and respect, so she opened up a cupboard, “These are all my masterpiece, pick as you like.”

Elijah’s sense of fashion was not as good as Kerry’s, so he didn’t dare to decide and said, “In your opinion, what would be the best gift to present to a lady on a dinner date?”

Kerry snapped her fingers, “Is Mr George going on a date with his wife?”

Elijah was stunned!

God, how did she get it right on the first guess?

Elijah didn’t deny, “So? Your suggestion?”

“Suit is a must, shoes must be a good match too, every detail counts, hmm…” She picked up three suits and three pairs of Italy made brown shoes.

Kerry held out a box, “Woman will surely go crazy with this, the latest design of this year!”

Elijah took over the box, there was a diamond necklace in it. It looked pricey and would be irresistible for a woman.

“Good.”

“You’re not going to ask for the price? Do you trust me that much?”

Elijah laughed, “My boss can buy your entire studio, this is nothing?”

“Has the patient sent from ER earlier settled?”

“Yes, everything is settled, Dr Watson.”

“Good.”

It was time to go home then.

Riley Watson put on her clothes in the changing room, even if he was reluctant to invite her over for dinner, their meeting was inevitable.

While these thoughts went on her mind, she finished a four-course meal with one soup.

Riley prepared all cutleries needed, replaced the flower vase with fresh water and there was still twenty minutes left before he arrived. To her, twenty minutes seemed like ages while waiting for him, in the meantime, it also seemed too short if it was the last time they were to be together. Her mind was in turmoil, she had to keep herself busy, she changed the grey dress she was wearing, replaced it with a light coloured knee-length dress, tidied her hair and put on some lipsticks.

She looked way better than before she cooked, looked gentler and prettier.

“Euan, let’s have a peaceful breakup.”

“Euan, why don’t we… sign the divorce paper today.”

“Euan, I’ve been thinking, we are not a good match, Lydia is the one for you. Let’s cut the cords between us after this meal.”

Riley practised a few opening dialogues in front of the mirror, none of which made her feel any better.

Euan was always on time, he was rarely late. He smelled homemade food the moment he opened the door, this put a smile on his face and made his eyes shine.

The ordinary smell today gave him a sense of extraordinary happiness.

“Am I late?” Euan entered and was ready to change his shoes.

Riley stopped him and said, “You don’t have to change, just come in.”

“Alright.” Euan straightened his back and smiled at her.

Euan’s was captivated by the natural beauty of Riley.

She looked serious but always seemed to be smiling. She walked towards him like an angel.

She was a true beauty!

“It’s just a simple meal,” Riley said apologetically with a slightly cold tone. She intentionally created a distance between them.

In the meantime, she noticed that Euan looked extremely elegant and smart with his new suit.

His charm was irresistible.

It was undeniable that Euan could have the entire female population went crazy over him with only his handsome looking face.

Riley did not only excel as a doctor, but she was also a terrific cook, she could easily turn simple ingredients into heavenly tasted food.

“This is the best meal I’ve ever seen.” Euan pulled out her chair for her gently.

Those were all simple and light tasted food along with steamed bass, all of his favorites.

She washed her hand and prepared his soup. It was a good sign, he whispered happily inside his heart.

She lifted her chopsticks and smiled, her lips were so attractive. “You drove here right? It’s better not to have alcohol then.”

Euan could call Elijah over anytime he wanted but he chose to listen to her, “Alright.”

They enjoyed the meal together, the atmosphere was warm, harmonious and relaxing. Euan tasted and enjoyed the food while visualizing her being busy preparing all this food in the kitchen. He thought he could volunteer to do the dishes afterwards.

And they would look even more like a husband and wife in that sense.

She reached for the glass on the side and tried hiding her discomfort by drinking. She had to admit that rejecting Euan required courage.

Euan’s sight was locked on her throughout the time, and their eyes met when she removed the glass, Euan looked at her gently with a smile, “The food taste amazing.”

He hoped he could taste such amazing food every day in the future.

Riley felt like she was surrounded by his gentleness, she felt like she was slowly sinking into his river of affection.

Why did he behave like that?

“Thank you.” She had another sip of water but still felt the thirst.

Euan smiled and took her glass over, “Are you not going to eat? Water alone is enough?”

Riley stared right into his eyes, she felt a sense of unfamiliar tenderness and charm.

What happened? They never had a long conversation like this before. He had never interested in talking to her but he was unexpectedly gentle and full of affection today.

It’s a delusion! Riley Watson! You are delusional!

Euan realized her disbelief, she was cute but he gave himself a mockery smile.

He never really given them a chance before, he wanted to but there was always something that came between them.

But tonight, he wanted to cut out all those unnecessary influences.

“Why are you smiling?” she couldn’t understand his unusual behaviour.

“Give me your mobile.”

Euan asked, she did as he asked despite being confused.

Euan took over her mobile and turned it off, “Today, no one can ever leave no matter what.”

He turned off his mobile too and put it under hers.

It was like the two of them, laying on top of each other.

Riley felt a sudden hot flush through her body.

Euan picked up a piece of fish, removed all the bones and gave it to her. “Here you go, you like fish.”

Riley’s heart was filled with indescribable warmness, “Thank you, I can do it myself.”

“Oh yeah, this is for you.”

Euan presented her with the gift, she went, “What?”

Euan George was being so bold today, not hiding his affection and acting like his husband. “A gift for you, see if you like it.”

Riley was surprised, “It’s not my birthday.” And it’s no special day either, why gift?

“It doesn’t have to be a special day to buy you a gift, come on, open up.”

Riley put down her cutlery and she was attracted to the gift at first but…

This necklace looked so familiar.

Isn’t this the same limited edition that Lydia showed off in front of her?

Riley closed the case. What a genuine act to have bought the same design for both.

Euan was a little angry, “You don’t like it?”

Riley chose to be silent, it did not matter anyway.

Still captivated with her beauty, he decided to be honest with his thought. “ Allow me to begin, please listen and decide after I’ve finished.”

Euan put down his cutlery, looked straight at her, “Riley, I don’t want to divorce, not now, not ever.”

Her heart beating like it was going to explode, she held her breath, the way he called her “Riley”, made her nervous!

Euan grabbed one of her hand, “We’ve been together for a long while but yet, I have never told you the magic word.”

She shook her head in silence, the way he acted, his intention was clear and she did not want to hear it!

Euan grabbed her hand tightly and said, “I love you. I wasn’t sure how I felt before, but now I am, I love you.”
