Mr President, We Meet Again! novel Chapter 48

The ambulance arrived just in time. The paramedics hurriedly placed her on the stretcher and pushed it into the ambulance.

“Sir, she is my friend! Can I follow her??!!”

Xiao Yu Meng then accompanied Lin Wen Xin to the hospital. Along the way, she has also informed her parents and brother about the accident.

The emergency operation started and Xiao Yu Meng waited outside restlessly. The Xiao family had also rushed down to the hospital.

Though Xiao Yu Zheng is currently overseas, he is also as anxious as everyone else and would not want to end the video call as he wants to hear the first-hand update from the doctor too!

Meanwhile, Wang Shen Ze got into the backseat of the car while Yi Fan and the driver sat in front.

“Young Master, it may take a little longer for us to reach the hotel today as the workers in front are trying to clear the debris on the road. It seems like there was an accident earlier.”

After hearing what the driver has reported, Wang Shen Ze did not know why but he felt extremely uneasy in his heart.

“Return to the villa today.”

...

Wang Shen Ze walked into the villa and was greeted by the scene of servants crowding around Nanny Liang, who is sitting on the sofa.

“Is she picking up the phone yet??” One of the servants asked worriedly.

Another servant added on, “She did not take her dinner again today, what if she fainted on her way out?”

Wang Shen Ze overheard their conversation and immediately walked towards them, “What happened?”

Despite knowing about the breaking news on television earlier, he still could not help but return home to look for Lin Wen Xin.

Even though he expected her to be very busy handling the company’s matters, he still wanted to see that she is safe and sound.

But if there was just one thing that Wang Shen Ze hated the most, it would be the betrayal of his trust, especially by someone whom he loved so dearly.

And because of this, he still could not bring himself to face her yet, as he is afraid that he might soften his heart for Lin Wen Xin.

Upon hearing Wang Shen Ze’s voice, the servants turned around in shock and greeted him, while Nanny Liang quickly stepped forward.

“Young Master, Madam has fallen ill these few days because she refused to eat much. Just now, she had rushed out of the house and we are worried that her body might not be able to take it.”

Wang Shen Ze paused for a moment before responding, “Alright, continue with your work. I will take care of this.”

He then went up to the study room and called Jiang Zheng, in which he found out that not only is Lin Wen Xin not at the company, she also did not even respond to his calls and messages.

Then where did she go?

“She couldn’t have...” Wang Shen Ze then called Yi Fan to look for Lin Wen Xin immediately, while he went up to her bedroom to find for some clues.

Is she really intending to end her life just like this?!

He went straight for her desk first, and saw the familiar document that she had taken away from his office. Just that right now, it has an extra note pasted on it.

[Remember to pass this to Shen, he might have forgotten to bring it back.]

Wang Shen Ze stared at the beautifully written note in his hand.

For the past few days, he had been so overly focused on how horrible and hurt he had felt, that he had completely disregarded the possibility of Lin Wen Xin having nothing to do with this at all.

It suddenly dawned upon him that, “What if... just what if it wasn’t her?”

Despite most of his reasons pointing towards her being the mastermind, he still has that one reason to believe in her, so shouldn’t he re-investigate again?

Wang Shen Ze placed the note down and started searching her room. He opened every cabinet and drawer, but was unable to find anything at all.

He looked around again and noticed that there is a safe deposit box placed at the bottom of the cabinet.

She shouldn’t have placed any written notes in there right? Usually such a place is used to store gold bars and cash?

But Wang Shen Ze still decided to be safe and checked it anyway. He had randomly punched a few numbers each time, but was unsuccessful on multiple tries.

So it is not her birthday? Then could it be... mine?

And right at that moment, the door was successfully unlocked.

Wang Shen Ze froze as he saw the contents inside the box. He collapsed weakly into a sitting position as he slowly took out what was in there.

A green bracelet? And it was the exact same one that he had made together with his first love...

Familiar love letters?... Aren’t these his handwriting?

Book with a short handwritten message inside? Isn’t this the book that he had given to her in high school??

His hands could not stop trembling as he came to a sudden realisation that Lin Wen Xin, who has always been by his side, is actually his first love... “Xin Xin?”

...

Yi Fan quickly reported to Wang Shen Ze that Lin Wen Xin’s medical records has just been updated. It seems like she is hospitalised... from a road accident?

The drivers abruptly jammed on their brakes and several honking sounds filled the entire junction as Wang Shen Ze’s car raced down the road.

Has he turned completely crazy?? His car sped past every red light and he arrived at Yue He Public Hospital within minutes.

Since this public branch is owned by the Wang Family, no one dared to stop him when he parked his car directly at the drop off point, which is also the entrance to the hospital.

The staffs at the public hospital were shocked to see Wang Shen Ze here, as he would usually appear at Yue He’s private hospital, which is just next door.

He anxiously pushed his way through the crowded lift lobby and saw that the lifts are still busy at the upper levels.

Wang Shen Ze could wait no longer! He took the stairs and ran all the way up to the seventh floor.

He frantically searched for her ward and rushed in, just seconds after the doctor has entered.

“President Wang?” The doctor was startled to see him here.

“How is she?”

“The patient has a few hairline fractures on her ribs, due to the impact of the vehicle. The external injuries on her arms, legs and face should heal in a couple of weeks. What is more worrying is that the patient is currently in a coma.”

Wang Shen Ze felt that his heart had stopped beating for a moment when he heard that.

The doctor then added, “For this, we are unable to confirm of when she will wake up. If she is responding well, she may only take a couple of weeks. In serious cases, she might not be able to wake up at all.”

“What??” Wang Shen Ze and the Xiao Family stared at the doctor in incredulity.
