Both Lin Wen Xin and the waiter looked at Wang Shen Ze who had just spoken. “Bill the payment to me.”

He then reached out for the card from the waiter and returned it to Lin Wen Xin.

Wang Shen Ze gave her a slight smile before leaving the restaurant’s private room.

“??!!...”

What is this new trick that he just played?

Is he trying to make her feel bad for not paying today? This mean guy! He is really starting to be annoying on a whole new level!

“Hais... but I really do feel a little bad about this now...” Lin Wen Xin sighed as she also followed suit and exited the room.

They arrived at the five star hotel in less than thirty minutes. Most of the people attending the event had come in pairs.

Wang Shen Ze and Lin Wen Xin are the only couple who seems to be awkwardly walking alongside with each other. Since he did not initiate for her to hold on to his arm, she did not ask for it too.

As they walked into the ballroom, everyone’s eyes were quickly set on them.

Such an eye catching couple! It was indeed hard for anyone to not notice them.

As expected, all of them knew who Wang Shen Ze is and it took them merely a few seconds to drop everything and flock over to his side.

Each one of them wanted to grab a chance to speak to him, even if it was just for a minute!

I mean, how rare do they get such an opportunity to speak to the youngest but most successful business man in the country?

If he agrees to invest in anyone’s business, it is almost a hundred and one percent that the person would gain a strong foothold in the business industry.

So of course everyone would want to take this chance to give him an elevator pitch or at least build some sort of rapport with him.

Wang Shen Ze was soon flooded with the massive number of people surrounding him that Lin Wen Xin had unknowingly became further and further away from him.

Yi Fan and a few directors from the company have also swiftly stepped in to help manage the huge group of people.

However, Lin Wen Xin who is now standing all by herself could not be spared from this situation either.

Very quickly, many women also crowded around her and tried to curry favour with Lin Wen Xin, hoping that they could get closer to her and increase their social status.

Every single word that came out from their mouths were nothing less than words of flattery.

But of course, there were also women who are obviously jealous of her and looked at her with scrutinising eyes.

Their ‘whisperings’ became so loud and clear that it was almost as though they did it on purpose to let Lin Wen Xin hear them.

A few ladies burst out laughing after mocking her, “Her husband must really dote on her a lot... to give her such a small engagement ring...”

Another lady added, “My husband will not even bother to glance at such a ring for his small casual gift to me.”

“You look at how she is all alone now, he obviously doesn’t even care about her.”

Lin Wen Xin simply smiled politely and refused to entertain them. It is an important night for Wang Shen Ze and so, the last thing she would want to do is to offend anyone tonight.

Anyway what they have said is also the truth, so she would just take it in her stride and move on.

Lin Wen Xin glanced over at Wang Shen Ze’s side and happened to meet eye to eye with him.

She gave him a reassuring smile and also noticed that the crowd around him have become more coordinated with the help of his subordinates.

Meanwhile, Wang Shen Ze’s expression on his face instantly turned dark beyond words.

Who said that he did not care about her? If he truly did not, he wouldn’t even have caught the entire scene just now!

In fact, Wang Shen Ze had been waiting for Lin Wen Xin to give her a signal to ask him for some help. And he would immediately come to her.

But did she just smiled at him... and nothing else??

“Heh...” Wang Shen Ze sneered in disbelief. He was really mad but speechless at the same time!

Who does she think she is, to carry all the burdens on her own shoulders?

If she is feeling wronged, does she not know how to speak up for herself at all?

Wang Shen Ze then turned to the crowd in front of him. He specifically pointed out the three women and asked who were the ones who brought them here today.

The three men who were completely elated that they have finally managed to catch his attention tonight, had raised up their hands with pride.

Would they still be this ecstatic later when they realised what was actually awaiting them?

Maybe sometimes it was better to not have gotten his attention at all...

Wang Shen Ze then turned to Yi Fan and ordered him, “Ban them from working with us, now and in the future! I don’t want to see their faces ever again!”

His command came down like lighting and stroked them immediately.

They were absolutely clueless about why this has happened and kept calling out to him as though they were desperately clinging on to their only lifeline.

“President Wang...! Please don’t do this to us.” One of the men begged him.

Wang Shen Ze turned and looked at the three of them before he coldly spat out, “Choose your woman wisely the next time. Some women are just nothing but thorns on your back.”

He then walked over to Lin Wen Xin’s side and dominantly pulled her away as they exited the ballroom together.

Lin Wen Xin did not know what the commotion was about but could vaguely sense that something was not right.

As soon as they got into the car, the temperature in there hit the lowest, again!

She looked over and saw that Wang Shen Ze was just leaning back with his eyes shut.

It is clearly visible that he is unhappy with her. But why? Did she do something wrong? She really wanted to know.

Lin Wen Xin’s hand moved back and forth, still unsure if she should talk to him about it now.

When she finally decided to do so and gently tapped on his arm, his large hand grabbed onto hers tightly.

“Xin... xin...” He muttered softly.

“??...”

Lin Wen Xin went closer to him to hear what he had to say.
