My Doting Husband novel Chapter 3

Emma did feel her chest suffocated. Looking at the police outside the car talking with Joey, she could hear clearly what they were saying.

In less than two minutes, Joey found an iron rod more than half a meter long from nowhere.

Before Emma had a reaction, there was a loud bang.

Joey got numb in hands. As the iron bar fell to the ground, the glass only got a crack, and it was still intact.

Emma retreated, gesturing toward Joey, “Hit here, hit here......”

Joey blew into his hands. After the pain and numbness dissipated a little, he picked up the iron bar from the ground.

Over the next few minutes, the windows were finally smashed and the debris was everywhere.

As fresh air filled in, Joey breathed a sigh of relief.

Not far away, a man about 30 years old was walking over, and Joey suddenly became dumbstruck.

Sean, a tall man, stood against the wind and stared coldly at the iron bar in Joey's hand. “What are you doing?!”

...

Sean received a phone call that saying his mother fainted, so he drove his car in a hurry to get back.

Before getting off the car, he called Emma a few times, but she slept soundly.

Without much time to lose, Sean got out of the car and locked the door.

After making sure his mother was all right, he remembered that she was still in his car.

But, when he remembered, it had been an hour later.

When Sean came, what he saw was this scene...

During the two hours in the police station, Emma had a hard time.

She explained it clearly to the police, but the police didn't seem to buy it at all.

Joey's hair had been one-sided. He looked tired, leaning against the wall.

Emma was deflated, sitting on his trunk, looking at Sean.

Sean was still calm sitting there with his legs crossing. He did not move and his black coat was taken over by the police politely.

There were policemen standing beside him smiling, bending over respectfully and talking to him.

“I'm so sorry, Mr. Knight. They don't know your identity, and the two of my men are eager to do work well, and they got cheated by that girl and linked you to a kidnap case. Sheriff Chan will be here soon...”

Sean, who had not moved for a long time, raised his head, but said nothing. He happened to see Emma sitting on the suitcase.

Emma, 20, was undoubtedly stunning in appearance.

Even though she did not wear makeup, she looked still beautiful.

A grey English style mink overcoat was sitting on her hips. She held her head high. She pressed her lips tightly and looked at Sean with her beautiful eyes, but looked provocative.

Sean's corners of the mouth curled and he calmly took back his sight.

Outside the door, the car of Sheriff Chan had arrived.

There was a sound of quick, jumbled footsteps.

As the gate was pushed open from the outside, a portly man in his 50s, dressed in a police uniform, became visible.

Sheriff Chan strode towards Sean with a smile and shook hands with him.

Sean did not get up from his seat and shook hands with Sheriff Chan in a perfunctory manner.

Sheriff Chan was still polite. After greeting, he asked, “How is your Dad doing?”

Sean nodded his head and looked impatient.

Sheriff Chan wanted to ask Sean to sit in the office, he was directly refused.

Looking at the watch on his wrist, Sean said, “Is there anything else I need to cooperate with? If not, my driver is on his way.”

“No, no.” Sheriff Chan answered with a smile.

While speaking, Sean's mobile phone rang.

He glanced down and then picked up the phone and said, “Yes, Chongshan Road Police Station...How long will it take?”

Sean inadvertently looked to Emma when he was speaking.

However, Emma reached out her left hand and pointed her middle finger at him.

Sean was stunned and forgot that he was still on the phone with the driver...

...

In less than five minutes, Sean had put on his overcoat and was escorted out of the police station.

Emma craned her neck and peered through the clear glass door of the police station.

Sean had got into a black Rolls-Royce, and Sheriff Chan was still bowing and waved at him.

Emma turned around and asked Joey, “Who is this person?”

“You ask me?!” Joey was angry.

“......”

After seeing off Sean, a familiar figure came to the police station.

When Emma saw him, she quickly turned her head and got a dark face.

Simon Powell was dressed in a gray woolen coat with snow on his head.

After glancing at the two men in the corner, he turned and went in with the policeman.

Joey used his elbow to touch Emma and asked in a low voice, “Why is your father here?”

Emma wore a dark face and said angrily, “Who the hell knows?”

...

About 10 minutes later, Simon came out from the inside.

He went to the front of Emma and Joey and mercilessly stared at them and said, “What are you doing here, go!”

Joey smiled shyly and called out, “Mr. Powell...”

Simon did not respond but walked in front alone.

Emma put on the coat, carrying the suitcase to follow slowly.

Father and daughter, who had not seen each other for years, met in this way.

...

Outside the police station,

Simon stood in front of the car, akimbo, was angry.

Staring at the dejected Emma, he said angrily, “You are getting bolder and bolder now, you dare to hit anyone’s car now?!”

If it were others, Emma might have explained.

But to Simon, she did not bother to explain and even did not look to him.

For many years, they did not get along well and Joey had been used to it, so he said with a smile, “Mr. Powell, don't get angry, Emma did not mean to...”

“Shut up, you're no better than she is!”

Joey blinked his eyes, and then swallowed the words on his lips and could only stand lamely by.

Simon pointed at them and said angrily, “Apart from getting into trouble, what else could you do? You are in the same age, Kate...”

“Have you done? I'm going back to bed!” Hearing the name of Kate, Emma directly interrupted him.
