My Husband Is A Gary Stu novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58
Genevieve’s fever had subsided for the rest of the night, and she slept through the night until it was morning.
When she woke up, she realized that she had a stuffy nose. She remembered that she felt slightly suffocated when she was asleep, but she felt better later on.
Did I become weak after having my blood drawn? Did I catch a cold?
Just as Genevieve was about to get out of bed to wash up, she realized Patrick was lying in a chair beside her. He rubbed his disheveled hair as if he had just woken up.
“Did you sleep here last night?”
“Dang, how could I leave you alone?” Patrick answered as he yawned. “Yesterday you were…”
Seeing as he stopped talking, Genevieve asked curiously, “What happened to me last night?”
Patrick was afraid of worrying Genevieve if he told her of Timothy’s expression last night. So, he made an excuse and said, “You coughed a few times last night. It was as if you caught a cold. It just so happened that Timothy was on duty last night, so I had him give you a shot. Then I stayed to look after you.”
“Thank you.” Genevieve felt sorry as she noticed how uncomfortable the chair that Patrick slept on was.
He waved his hand as if he was unbothered and said, “I’ve experienced sleeping in a minefield before. This chair is much more comfortable than that place. You should go and wash up. You need to head to the company today.”
Today was the day when Genevieve and the rest of her department would receive their results.
“Okay,” she answered.
She went to the bathroom to wash up before she changed into a set of avocado-green blouse and a skirt that accentuated her slender figure, making her look youthful and cute.
Then, Patrick went into the bathroom, washed his face, and tidied his hair.
After they left the hospital, they went to a cafe near the hospital and had their breakfasts.
Since Patrick did not drive the night before, they had no choice but to hail a taxi to Central Group after eating.
On their way to the company, Patrick scrolled through his phone. Suddenly, he looked at Genevieve and said, “Genev, what exactly are you planning to do?”
Hearing his question, Genevieve realized that the news had spread. She grabbed Patrick’s phone and noticed that he was scrolling through Twitter.
Most of the hot topics were about her and Central Group.
This was because someone had revealed that the interview with Central Group the night before was nothing but a show. The interviewee had allegedly hooked up with a supervisor from Central Group so that she could enter the company through connections.
That interviewee was revealed to be Genevieve.
Central Group was a company that many elites would try every way they could to enter. Due to the high requirements, only a handful of people could pass the interview and get accepted into the company.
Many people who had failed the interview were already upset. Now that they found out about someone trying to enter the company through connections, it was only natural that they would scold Central Group for being unfair and inhumane.
The posts on Twitter wrote: Genevieve even lost her own company. She’s a nobody, and she still managed to enter Central Group. What a joke!
I heard from a reporter that he saw Genevieve at a high-end dinner one night as Mr. Faulkner’s lady companion.
How could Mr. Faulkner like someone like her!
It’s most likely she used being Mr. Faulkner’s lady companion as a gimmick to hook up with the senior executives of Central Group.
Genevieve’s emotions were not affected as she read the intense comments by the netizens. I’m sure they’d question their entire existence if they found out that Armand and I have gotten married.
Seeing as Genevieve was silent, Patrick approached her and said, “If you don’t want to see this news, I can turn Twitter into a black screen for a few days.”
Genevieve was surprised. “Are you serious? You can turn Twitter into a black screen?”
“They’re just data. It’s not that difficult for me to mess them up.” Seemingly unfazed, Patrick raised his eyebrows and continued, “As long as I don’t get caught by the Ministry of National Security.”
Genevieve was rendered speechless for a moment before she said, “I didn’t expect Queenie to spend so much money just to mess with me.” She returned the phone to Patrick and sighed. “I have no choice now. A bet is a bet. I’ve lost.”
Patrick let out a cry and said, “Genev, are you fooling me?”
There was no need for Genevieve to answer. As soon as Patrick looked at her expression, he knew that she was serious. Suddenly, he felt as if his heart was about to break.
Queenie and several other women stood in the corridor as they talked about how Genevieve was accepted into the company through connections.
Besides, Queenie even took some time to read through Twitter. When she saw that all the netizens were attacking Genevieve and asked her to leave Jadeborough, she put on a cold sneer.
Soon later, Genevieve, the female lead of the topic they were discussing, arrived at the company.
When Queenie spotted Genevieve, she walked up to the latter and said, “Genevieve, the person who was in the same examination room with you yesterday said that she saw you talking to Ms. Griffin of the translation department. She was even lenient with you when it came to the exams.”
As she said this, she pointed her chin toward the nearby conference room. “Ms. Griffin is being investigated inside!”
