My Most Precious Wife novel Chapter 9

What would make you dizzy, body heat up and feel strange after drinking it?

Charles' attention was now on Wendy. He was almost fifty and would he not know what Emily drank? But why did his second daughter give it to his youngest daughter?

Wendy was full of guilt, she shook her head, "Father, I didn't drug Emily, how could I..."

Emily blinked those big round eyes and stared at her accusingly, "Sister, what's the meaning of drug? What... what did you drug me with?"

She was only eighteen and it was easy to pretend that she didn't know what was happening.

Emily certainly acted very convincingly!

"Wendy! What did you let her drink?" Charles frowned angrily.

If his second daughter really did anything stupid to sabotage Emily and Master Jackson's engagement, he won't let her off easily!

"Father, how could I hurt Emily? That silly girl must have drunk something she shouldn't have and afraid that she'll be punished by her father. That's why she is putting the blame on me."

Wendy could really act with her eyes misting up.

"Dad, I'm your daughter. You should be aware of what kind of person I am."

Kate interjected, "Charles, our Wendy is well known in Bentson City, do you think she can do that to her sister?"

"Furthermore, Emily has always misbehaved. You now choose to listen to Emily's nonsense and blame our daughter who not only excelled in her studies but is always so filial."

Wendy has always been serious in her studies and obedient to her parents. Whether it was helping others or school work, it has always been top marks.

When she was eighteen, she participated in several social events in Bentson City and promptly became known as the most popular socialite in Bentson City. Firstly, she was indeed beautiful and secondly, she was talented. She played the piano well, danced well, every action of hers was in perfection.

Charles looked again at Emily who was still standing at the stairs and he was puzzled.

She does look good now but she has always been a delinquent. She doesn't like to study, she smokes and drinks, likes to makeup heavily, flirt, run away from home, lots of problems.

These can't be saved by an innocent perfect face.

At last, Charles said, "Emily, your sister couldn't have given you something nasty to drink, I'm afraid... this is a misunderstanding."

Emily laughed coldly without a hint of warmth.

She smokes, she only smoked once in her life. That was at the insistence of Wendy saying that it was fun. So she tried once. Just that once she was photographed smoking with heavy makeup with a few beer bottles beside her. Somehow that photo went viral on the internet.

She was an idiot in her previous life, she admits, that she has never suspected Wendy.

"Of course, I know that it's a misunderstanding, how can I suspect that second sister will harm me? When second sister taught me to smoke, she helped me to hide it from father."

She blinked and laughed like a fool, "If it wasn't for second sister, father, you would have had discovered it at once."

"What did you say?" Charles stared at Wendy.

"Father, I.. how would I..." Damn that Emily, is she doing all these on purpose tonight? How could she have such a big transformation?

Was it a slip of the tongue or on purpose? Was she mistaken? She felt that Emily was a changed person tonight.

"Charles, Wendy hates the smell of cigarettes. You know that. Do you think that she'll teach Emily how to smoke?"

Kate wanted so much to slap Emily. Previously Emily was dumb as a post, she didn't even know how to string a sentence properly. But now, her words are sharp while appearing to be innocent. Every sentence was drawing blood, it looks like she's a different person.

Charles doesn't know what to believe. Tonight, his youngest daughter had a huge change and he is still stunned. But the most important is the engagement ceremony was canceled and he was afraid that Hunter doesn't want Emily anymore, what's he going to do about it?

Suddenly, Kate raised her eyebrow and dashed upstairs towards Emily, "What's that on your neck?"
